Sorry, when you said "I'd appreciate feedback on the letter." I thought you meant providing feedback via G+ rather than here... And since Google went all in with their G+ comments, on G+ and PrayStore, still cautious to enter into par-taking on those sites...

Regarding the latest update, as always MOST WELCOMED and very much APPRECIATED

1) New Camera Options, is it just me or am I missing something? Everyone else seems to find these new settings, but for life of me... I cant?

2) If I have received the new Camera update? (I use BANKS GApps) not sure if this is why I am not seeing anything?? Camera works fine, guess it's still saving to Internal as I cant see anywhere to change this?? Photosphere is AMAZING... Not tried Panoramic Mode, ever! lol.... However Camcorder still locks up for me whenever I use it...

3) On The Go Mode, wow... this is absolutely brilliant!!!!

4) Lockscreen Wallpaper, this bug still appears to be present... Although I am sure almost 3x builds prior to this, it worked for me... Even though yourself and a couple of others were saying it was present back then, and that your working on it. Must of been lucky on that previous build for it to work for me... I noticed someone else mention this bug on the DU G+ page in general, and not specific to this rom. Although Alex wasn't aware of it, said it's most likely QuickPic at fault and to use Stock Gallery. I always use Stock Gallery and still it causes the BoobLoop for me... lol

Either
1) Google Camera with Photosphere and broken camcorder
Or
2) Standard AOSP Camera without Photosphere, but a (more or less) fully working video camera. (Auto) Focus might be still a minor issue.
Adding > and new storage options

Ah, that'll explain it then... apologies for the confusion. I've always installed/flashed my roms this way... Until recently, I used to use the PA Modular GApps... But read somewhere about BANKS GApps, and not sure why I favoured them over PA now??

But I guess by it installing the Google Camera as part of it, flashing any update over the top wont rid me of Googles own...

I think I'll have to look for an alternative Camcorder App on PrayStore as I love Photosphere too much...

This ROM is getting better and better with each build. Thank you my friend.

This on-the-go thing is just awesome.

Now, I have one issue with it: if I set it on and then I try to take a pic I get a "can't connect to camera" message.

Am I missing something?

P. S. I am using the ROM AOSP camera

Hi @ricardowec,

I noticed this too, but then realised there is nothing we can do about it... I use to get a similar message on an old Android phone I use to have...

Basically, if you think about it... The phone is already using the Camera (API calls) to use as its vision, like a pass through directly to the camera, therefore it's already in use and cannot free up the camera until you close the "On The Go" feature off. Once closed, the camera (API calls) are then free to be passed onto the next App/Service that requires it....

I hope this helps/makes sense...?

Yes @Lister Of Smeg, that is what I thought it happens. The camera is taken by the UI and. needs to be manually set free before it can be used by the app.

I thought this switch over might be included in the feature but then the app needs to be changed. I don't know..

No idea what i9500 subspecies are supported. You'd better visit DU Google+ and ask there.

Dirty Flash experience

Just a quick post to outline my Dirty Unicorns (DU) flash experience to date.

I only tend to clean flash when I am moving to a new ROM or I experience problems after a dirty flash.
I always wipe cache and Dalvik when flashing.
I always make a backup before I flash...... although I haven't needed to revert to backup yet with any DU flash.

My DU flash history is below:

Clean flash: Asylum_DU_4.4.2_20140107_n7000 with PA GAPPS Modular Mini
Dirty flash: Asylum_DU_4.4.2_20140116_n7000 with PA GAPPS Modular Mini
Dirty flash: du_n7000_20140202-v6 with PA GAPPS Modular Mini
Dirty flash: du_n7000_20140301-test with PA GAPPS Modular Mini
Dirty flash: du_n7000_20140315-1726 with Banks GAPPS Minimal

To date I have had no major problems and everything I use has worked almost flawlessly.
I say almost, because I have had a few FCs, nothing I could recreate though, so probably because of my app mix.
I don't tend to tweak performance settings these days, so I am using the ROM pretty much as it comes out of the tin.
Battery life is great, I get at least a full day of use...... since I changed my USB port anyway.
I am not a big 3D gamer, but I do spend a good few hours a day browsing XDA, the web, my mail, News Republic, etc.

I don't use screen recording so it's no problem that it doesn't work.
I've never used ART, so I don't know what I am missing, and this ROM is super quick and smooth in my experience.
I have lost signal bars but definitely not signal, so all good there.
I don't set a custom lockscreen wallpaper.

The only change I have made to my apps is moving from MX Player to VLC.
MX Player worked well on the 4.2.2 ROM I used before DU, but no video only sound on 4.4.2.
Most of the videos I watch are MKV, which has caused problems with MX for me in the past.
VLC works perfectly.

This is the snappiest ROM I have used on the N7000 and the minor bugs do not affect my use of the device.
This ROM is testament to the N7000's greatness and an awesome Kit-Kat build that just gets better and better.

Thanks to @chasmodo, the Dirty Unicorns team and other greats of the Android community for continuing to support our fantastic device...... long after Samsung waved goodbye........... hats off to you all (including Samsung, without them the N7000 wouldn't exist).

I flashed latest build, everything is working great, but i want to hide "+" icon on the top left corner, this icon is constantly there even if i clear all notifications… please help.

That icon is a placeholder used to position center clock properly. Remove the center clock and it will disappear.

Tasker "Cell Near" not working?

Is anyone having Tasker "Cell Near" problems with this ROM? "Cell Near" doesn't appear to be functioning at all.
