EDIT: Want to ask: I experienced random modem crashes with Fredi`s DU . Kind of anoying because I would not realized it crashed until I looked at the signal meter in the status bar. The phone had to be rebooted.

Now I atrributed this to the Kerner as it does not occur in Asylum . Q: Which kerner does this build use, Stock Omni or Asylum Omni?

Just found the problem I mentioned in my previous post regarding the modem (radio)

If I go to settings -Dirty Tweaks - Status Bar Colors, the UI crashes. Upon return, the Radio icon is cleared as if there where no signal. Actually there is signal, but the icon is cleared.

I presume that other circumstances whereby the UI crashes clears the icon as well,. Will keep an eye on it.

Hi Ricardowec,

Ah cool, so it isn't just me experiencing this issue then? Although I didnt know the signal was still running/valid... I just assumed if the Signal was clear/empy, then it lost connection from the network?? And in fact I am sure I saw a notification come up in my drawer saying lost connection with T-Mobile when something similar happened when changing settings...

That said, its no biggie... As I can simply search for a signal again and it pops back into life... For that small issue I can live with so far, as this rom offers far more useful features than any other current rom...

And I especially like this version over the older DU build in that this is clean/pure, and looks official... Where as the other (although good) was a little too dark and moody... The Freddi one??

Thank you, would be awesome (I know it's only a little thing, but makes it so much better/useful) if this could be included for a future build...

Also, not sure if its just me (or anyone else??) getting this... But when changing certain settings (and not necessarily radio related), I appear to lose GSM signal... Like the bars disappear and only the outline shows... Not a major biggie, because if I look for networks again under "Network Operators" it comes back again...

Will keep a check, see how to reproduce it (and test it on a future build too). But yeah so loving this rom, thank you...

Arrived a little bit late but... surely will give it a go! nice to see TeamDirt's support for our device


+ In fact I'm now on Freddie's Asylum DU (0130) which I love since his first build, (BTW, many thanks @bangsti for all your contributions!).... but if I would give this official a try: do I need to perform a clean flesh? or dirty will suffice?....

+ Also, I understand this is practically the same as bangsti's build but "un-nightmared" right?.... forgive my ignorance but, v6 stands for build version or kerner™ version...?


Anyway, big thanks father @chasmodo congrats on getting involved in this nice project and to @Moepda for standing support... you're simply legends here! as well as the good @AA1973 for his essential collaborations (and his occasional but necessary Chuck Norris's posts as well! which I hope to see plenty of 'em here!) :good:

Even i had similar issue as ricardowec and Lister of Smeg, assuming that i am loosing connection, i returned to Asylum omni.

Yes,having same issue signal loss.
I think whenever some things goes with status bar, signal lost.
I already seen this issue in earlier DU rom.

Signal issue +1, although I think it's only a display issue because I made few phone calls when it shows "no signal" and it worked perfectly, voice was very clear.

Another problem I see is that OmniSwitch sometimes set to OFF by itself. Don't know how to reproduce it, I just use my phone with OmniSwitch ON for a while and notice that OmniSwitch disappeared, then I go to Settings \ Dirty Tweaks \ OmnniSwitch and find out it's OFF somehow.

v6 stands for DU version. DU doesn't do nightlies, so every time there's an official release, it is numerated.

Test builds can be found at DU G+ community, link in the OP.

It's just the icon that's gone, your connection is perfectly OK.

This broplem was reported many times in Omni threads as well.

Does that ROM boots and make my Note flying? I like Unicorns, but I want them flying, like Pegasus

It will make your Note soar like an eagle, just keep your eyes peeled and don't let it fly away for good.

When you enter Settings/Dirty tweaks/Statusbar color you'll get bounced back to lockscreen and your signal icon will go blank.

Oks, very clear now! thx for you quick response chas... I too can confirm both the signal and the omniswitch bugs there, will experiment further and report findings (if any)

There are still some things missing in the lockscreen (at least to me) : Widgets and notifications. They are enabled but with no effect.

Ricardo, try to disable, then re-enable lockscreen notifications and see if they work.

Lockscreen widgets work for me both on N7000 and Yuga after enabling them in Settings/Security. Again, disable, re-enable, perhaps?

Chas, I did as suggested. I disabled both, rebooted and re enabled, rebooted again and I have notifications but no widgets.

I restored Bangsti s build and can toggle on-off both settings without problems. I can also do both on my hammerhead

I will post the settings screenshots as soon as i get home tonight.

Just to be clear, I did a full wife before flashing, have TBO gapps and Apex launcher.

Chas, this is what I just did. I don't know if it is a meaningful test, you tell me:

-Restored Fredi's build where both lockscreen settings work without problems

-Dirtyflashed V6 over above (TBO gapps included)

-both settings work now as they should.

I am staying on this dirty setup for the time being. I keep a clean V6 Nsndroid JIC.
