Give it a go as a dirty flash and see if the Play Store and your calendar sync still work.

Just did the job... looks like jajb, during flash process, removes "remnants of GApps" and maybe also PA ones. Play Store and Calendar sync works well... maybe even faster! But can be my impression...

For those having lags while using micro SD card, try to format this one with exFAT filesystem.
Doing so made mine file transfert and music listening much more reliable.

Instagram problem

I'm running on a testbuild at the moment (5th October 2014, v8.0). Everything is working just great. But I have a small problem, I can take videos with instagram. But when I want to upload them, the uploading progress gets stuck and it doesn't upload. I've already tried force closing the app and using it again. But no luck. Can anyone help me out? I really love this ROM!

Formatted external sd card (samsung 32gb) to exFAT and *I feel* apps on sd card run faster, although I haven't done a benchmark to confirm this.

Still anyway I continue to getfreezes especially on compulsive texting but also while navigating... I have 1-2 freezes per day now. (is it normal that free RAM of mine goes around 18 MB left? Free RAM is wasted RAM, right?)
Inquiring right now on Theme Engine: reverted to Holo theme, I got a SystemUI reboot but all goes well for now. I will inquire on Android AOSP keyboard too (will try later to use another keyboard).

As before, IF I am at home and get a freeze, I'm going to attach a logcat hoping something useful can be extracted from there...

Halo doesn't work... Any suggestion..?!?
Besides there is no more the OFFICIAL version v8.0...

I am newbie to this rom as i am currently using Arymod v8 TW rom. Can somebody help me in which kernel to be used? Which Gapps should be downloaded(cuz the links gives three types of GApps)? What is weekly builds? the main rom file name is v8 testbuild, so what this "testbuild" indicates? does this rom have to updated weekly bases? means is the updates coming out very frequently and i have to install full wipe again each time?

There is already a guide on what you should flash to get on kitkat ROM
And you have to flash any one of the Gapps. Take your pick
Test builds are for just that - testing. They can be buggy so i suggest you use the official version linked in the thread if you want to avoid unnecessary bugs.
And you can dirty flash these builds but I would suggest you to full wipe :good:
Official builds come out once a month generally. Others are nightly test builds

Kindly read the first post. It answers all your queries.
WRT Gapps, if depends on whether you desire all the google bells and whistles (ram intensive) or small but essential package. Pls read the descriptions of the packages on the download page. Personally I prefer the lighter version.
Test build signifies exactly what the name suggests- it might be a little unstable but full wipe is not required in either case when moving from one version to the next. The developer would let us know if any installation or version would require a full wipe.

OmniSwitch wouldn't launch on first boot after flashing.
Rebooted and OmniSwitch is A-Okay.

Some updates:
I flashed to 20141007 from 8.0 official and reverted to Holo theme pack... 3 days of intensive use and all went smooth and without any issue.
Then I put again the Cobalt theme pack (without applying Bellota font), I noticed some lag in screen transitions and while using keyboard, until I got another extreme slowdown/freeze which required me a hard reboot. I wasn't at home so I wasn't able to get logcat.

Still without enough proof, but I wish to focus attention on Theme Engine...
I have two questions for everyone who suffer freezes:
- which GApp package do you use?
- do you use a custom theme via Theme Engine?

Changing topic, what about the battery loading animation? I mean the battery icon (which in DU seems a greyish rectangle with a micro percentage text within) you get when you plug in the phone to charge it, and your phone is powered off. Is there a way to change it?

As far as gapps go i use pa_gapps-modular-micro. I use a different Theme than the default since 3 days (LessUgly 2.1 Theme). I pretty much have same issues as without it so I cant confirm that useing themes adds to instability. I get around 2 hot reboots a week as well as around 2 freezes a week mostly during texting in whatsapp. I use swiftkey keyboard.

While fighting the infinite battle...

Just when I was thinking to try a new keyboard to see if freezes/lag are caused by keyboard, I got a freeze while doing nothing... on lockscreen.
I plugged phone at PC and runned adb logcat. It started with "device not ready... waiting for device" but then logcat started. Then the phone unfrozen itself and returned to work.

Logcat attached. I had to compress it as the 2 MB size won't be accepted by forum limit of .txt filesize

Effectively there is something... about Java and Facebook? And also other things...

... btw, isn't scary a facebook library is called "libheartbleed.so"?

Unfortunately this logcat is not against latest testbuild, but on 20141007. Will update ASAP!
