Soft reboots are still on my phone and 8.1.

Could someone please take a look at the attached logcat and try to decipher what is going on ?

Thanks

Edit: The crash seems to occur at 15:59:28.600 just before bunch of I/DEBUG info was recorded
Just tossing in there, have you already tried TWRP recovery --> Advanced --> Fix Permissions?
There are various "permission denied" "unknown permission" and such in your logcat.
I won't bet this will resolve anything but it's worth a try...

what I have in common with you is the Java null pointer thing:
Code:
10-19 13:03:36.150 W/System.err(5408): java.lang.NullPointerException
and I see you have Google Keep like me, which appear to be the latest thing doing something before the killing of SuperSU:
Code:
10-19 16:01:15.095 I/ActivityManager(11909): Start proc com.google.android.keep for broadcast com.google.android.keep/.notification.AlertReceiver: pid=14516 uid=10069 gids={50069, 3003, 1028, 1015, 1023}
10-19 16:01:15.095 I/ActivityManager(11909): Killing 13713:eu.chainfire.supersu/u0a58 (adj 15): empty #17
I'm unable to see if there is anything else relevant :(

And now, a review of mine of 8.1 on this matter:

after some days, 8.1 official seems much fluid and stable, now I have a freeze/soft reboot around every 2 days (starting from 1-2 per day). This time I kept all of apps in internal memory, I got some soft reboots and crashes but never while texting as before.
In detail, I got:
- a freeze while browsing apps
- one while unlocking screen
- one while recording a video with Google Camera (discarded for AOSP camera, haven't got anymore issues)
- and a bunch while using Dolphin browser.
The latest ones (camera and Dolphin) could be also due to corrupted data/something similar (maybe it's not a good idea to let TitaniumBackup to restore data too).
Overall, my phone has become much stable. I wish to suggest everyone experimenting lockups to transfer all of apps in internal memory if there are apps in external SD.

A big thank you @chasmodo and all of the team DIRT :)
I'm still going to continue investigating on freezes and such, hoping this can make a much stable ROM

Yes, I did fix permissions as I mentioned in a couple post before this one. but it didnt work as SuperSu 2.13 was buggy

I had a soft reboot a few moments ago and I also suspect all this is due to SuperSu and (I think) changes made to the SeLiinux stuff. I dont know.. I am also lost as I have traced a few of my logs and cant find a correlation between them .

Also, my reboots diminished whan I greenfied a few of my not so frequently used apps.. So there is a memory ingredient t as well (or apps for that matter)

I understand @chasmodo added debug info that is being recorded with each dump that unfortunately I am unable to decipher

Cheers and thanks for your help

Edit, I do use Boat Browser as well and it was one of the apps I greenified. I use it mostly for its safe download engine but I will get rid of it at this moment. Also..that java pointer.. wouldnt it be doing something with the recent language translations just added ??.. I dont know.. I am just speculating.

Facing random reboots if i switch on the dynamic colour option......anyone facing the same?
if I dont switch it on,,,,this ROM is as smoothhhhh......as my Girlfriends Skin :laugh::laugh::laugh:
I will be not using the dynamic colours unless it gets fixed in future builds...
Note:Fresh install of the latest build with all wipes
Gapps:Banks minimal
and Kernel:The kernel of the ROM
Yeh same here. If I activate/use the Dynamic Colors and browse any apps it will reboot by itself. Already did a 2 clean install. I already test it by just installing the rom without any gapps then connect to the internet and use browser and also by just scrolling in the gallery. Other than that I have no problem with the rom. Currently on 8.1 build 1020. The only reboot I encounter is when I use the Dynamic Colors.

I activate dynamic color , no reboot happens.
But using wechat voicetalk gets a reboot , after a reboot it becomes OK.
Really love this ROM.

Fresh test build is available at the DU G+, guys.
Thank you for this update. The problem I had with Dynamic Color is gone, no more rebooting issue. The only problem I found is the Network Mode in QuickTiles, It won't change from 2G to 3G. Though the tile will change from 2G to 3G the network doesn't really change. Please see attached file for logcat. Thanks!

EDIT:
I still get a reboot or 2 after charging. Forgot to turn on logcat. Will do it on the next charge.

Hi All,

Under todays new build, I noticed one of the changes is [Ticker disabled].

Is this TICKER, the feature that used to scroll along the top (between Status Bar and Notifications) and you could set Reminders there...?

If so, where was this feature originally in the rom...?? Is it completely REMOVED in the new build, or is it still there but turned off by default....??

Thanks, Lister

I also had lots of system.ui errors and hence frezzes, reboots. I tried to solve the issue but was not able. So I reverted back to 7..9.
Besides that new features are cool and Rom is so smooth. If Dynamic Color is the culprit for the reboots and freezes then I can live without it ;)

Hmm, I want to overclock GPU (only GPU, not CPU) on this ROM but I didn`t find any kernel for that (special for DU), can anybody help me with this?
Try Raw Kernel. I think there is a OC version. When you flash it, you can limit max CPU freq via NoFrills CPU or with any other app with the ability.

Which kernal + spen + lockscreen wallpaper

Thinking of trying this rom as the tw is too slow.

Does the spen work OK with this rom.

The suggested kernel raw_kernel_r4_j43 seems to be a jelly bean kernal but this is a kit kat rom is ok?

I see there are r5-4.4 & r6-4.3&4.4 of the raw kernel would one of these be better.

I've tried search but it's down at the mo.

Thanks

Is the custom lockscreen wallpaper still an issue?

New build is up at the DU G+ community, guys.
Clean flashed Du 20141024 a couple of hours ago after months of continuous dirty flashing.
All good.
No FCs, reboots, freezes.

Restored most of my apps using Rom Toolbox Pro.
All good.

Restored my Contacts, SMS Messages and Call Logs using CM Backup (I backed them up before the flash of course).
All good.

Looking lean and mean.

I don't use dynamic colours.
No reboots in any app.
All my apps are on internal storage, I don't put them on SD.
Some users have experienced FCs, freezes and reboots with apps on the SD.
I see. I also don't have reboots or freezes even if some of my apps are on SD. Just the Dynamic Colors that I have a problem. Guess I have to check it myself tom. :) Thanks for the reply.
