Hi Julien, and welcome to the Dirty Unicorns build for N7000.
The best KitKat build for our device in my opinion.
Sounds like you went a bit far with your initial flashing.
You don't need to flash a separate Recovery ZIP like TeamWin TWRP after flashing the ROM.
The Kernel in the DU ROM has TWRP.
All custom ROMs have a Kernel and Recovery (CWM or TWRP) built in.
One thing you do have to bear in mind is the limited support for NTFS and ExFAT in TWRP.
If your internal or external storage is formatted with NTFS or ExFAT you may have problems reading them in TWRP.
UPDATE: You're right about SGH-I717 and SGH-T879 Roms, Kernels, etc. not being compatible with the international N7000.
Flash them at your peril.
They may partially work as there is some common hardware between the devices, but they are unlikely to be fully functional and might trash your N7000 device.
If I were you, I would clean flash with only DU ROM and GAPPS (if you want Google Services such as the Play Store).
Then you are back to a clean build.
Clean Flash = Full Wipe = Factory reset (and wipe certain partitions if you want to)
Alternatively, you could dirty flash the DU ROM over what you have, and see if that solves your problems.
If it doesn't then clean flash.
Dirty Flash = Flash ROM without wiping any partitions (other than Cache and Dalvik Cache if you want to - recommended).
For Google Apps (GAPPS), I would recommend
jajb's awesome Minimal GAPPS.
I haven't retro-fitted CWM to this ROM so I don't know if it plays nice with the kernel and the ROM.
I did think of it when I first started using the ROM as I had been using CWM for a long time and wasn't comfortable with the TWRP interface initially.
Now I've used TWRP for a good few months I really like it.
By the way, the TWRP in the kernel works fine for me as all my storage is formatted with the default file system.
Doing a clean flash should solve your issues.
