It's not looking hopeful, as we've lost our device maintainer(s). There is one person who wants to help, but is getting no support from anyone... So maybe not...?

We've lost a lot of good ROMs, as we've lost the Devs... :(

The link is the 8.2 version for Nexus devices.
First I did not read very well and tried to installed it on my N7000. Of course no luck.
Then when I read again I saw it was for Nexus devices.

Hi Rajk53,

Yeah, DU8.2 has been ready for a while now... You should be able to grab it from either of the links above...

Thanks, Lister

Hi @Al Capino,

Not sure what link you clicked on, but the link in my post takes you to all of Lionel's posts, who was the last person to compile 8.2 for our device... When I click my own link, it shows nothing but N7000 posts...

Cheers, Lister

Hi Lister Of Smeg,

I see that the 8.2 version was in the unofficial builds. I always download the official builds of DU.
So I clicked on the official builds on the left and there was DU 8.2. that lead me to the thread. Only the official 8.2 build is for the Nexus device.
Unofficial for the N7000.

So technically, you're right. But did not work for me for what I was looking for, the official build.
I read that some people had some issues with the unofficial build, like connectivity probs.

Hi @Al Capino,

Ah, I see... that would explain it... Was gonna say, pretty sure my link took you to the N7000 8.2 build. But alas there would not be a official 8.2 build for this rom, as our great maintainer, sadly left us just before 8.2 builds started rolling out... And we was one of the last device to recieve an 8.2 build.

Lionel, either took pity on us, or fancied a challenged, and thankfully stepped in the shoes of Chasmodo, to release one final 8.2 build (beit, unofficial). He is (or at least, WAS) hoping to bring us DU9 (based on Lollipop). But the last I heard, he was having problems getting it to work, and asked for some heads up, helpers over at that community, which sadly went on deaf ears... So whether he is still trying, or has just given up.... I don't know... Don't blame him, if he has....

But yeah, our options are growing slimmer by the day... :(

Didnt have too many issues with 8.2 if I'm honest, a couple of soft reboots, but then I had that with 8.1 too... And video camera seemed to lock up last time I used, which I am sure I've used it previously on 8.2, so must be a different conflict... Other than that, all good... :)

Cheers, Lister

Hi LOS,

Thanks for the update, I see now...
It's indeed a pitty that the original maintainer quits now.
On the other side: Quick understanding because the N7000 is an anchient phone. But still the N7000 is a very good phone.
Still have it, but I am a bit hunger now, I am look forward to a pablet with a 8.4 inch screen.

Still I hope that onesome will pick up this ROM and keep it maintained.
I am a user that want for my daily needs a stable ROM.

Cheers, Al Capino

I will come back to the topic call recording... Sorry, during the week I am firmly busy, so I can deal with the phone only on weekends.
In my Note, after installing ver. 8.2 DU ROM, the recording function with a large defect: my voice is distorted, overdriven (very, very loud, almost unintelligible), and the caller's voice is very quiet (almost inaudible). Software for recording conversations with PlayStore not work. Maybe someone knows the solution to this problem? How to control the volume of records, separately for the microphone and speaker?
For the curious: In my country, call recording is not prohibited. At JellyBean worked properly.
Once again remind you: call recording for me is extremely important.

Hi @abhiparab23,

I do not know Lionel personally, nor have I joined, signed up, or contributed to any Google+ groups, therefor am unable to get in contact with Lionel. If anyone does want to get in touch with him, they'd have to join the Google+ community, and contact him via there....

thanks, Lister

Hi Jac.ek,

I don't use Call Record feature no where near as important as what you'd need/use it for.... When I try it (without making any changes) it just works. Volumes all seem fine to me. But then, I've barely recorded anything...

Yes, under JellyBean rom (which I assume you mean Samsungs stock TW based) Call Record feature did work, as this was a stock implementation of it. I believe any custom roms since Samsung stock rom, beit JB, KK or LP... Call Record is not supported, and the latest hacks we've seen in KK are just that... HACKS... So therefore the code could be very buggy...

If Call Recording is that important for you, you maybe best skipping any of the custom roms, and return back to stock... That way it will 100% work....

Cheers, Lister

On many custom 4.1.2 ROMs call recording works very well. On any 4.4 ROM is not working. I saw this feature only in the description of the DU. But it does not work properly.
The Kit Kat is a lot of interesting features, but without call recording I do not even what to think about changing the ROM. :crying:

Here is how to partition your internal SD, but read all carefully before starting to do anything

''Beware #2 - Pre-Load moddified versions are for custom roms that do not use pre-load area! Please post on the respective thread for your rom and ask the author the question prior to using these versions if you are unsure! (I can tell you that SlimRoms & Cyanfox do not use preload, at present at least)''

can i use it on this rom ?
