The Asylum!
About the overheat and poor battery performance (in my case)

Here are some screenies and the BBS dump file. Not my specialty to trustfully interpret this statistics, so hope anyone can help me a little with this :fingers-crossed:

Then again: build-in kerner with pegasusq+row combo, 3 full charging cycles already on a rather new batt, past days deepsleep was fine and battery on screen-off (standby) was somewhat decent, -not spectacular but definitely not bad-.... the problem is at the very usage of the device by just the simple fact of wandering around the settings (for example), the battery loses about a 1% every 2 or 3 minutes and becomes so hot that reaches the point of discomfort in the palm.

(If this is incorrectly posted here, let me know to remove it asap, thanks)

When I observe any unusual battery drain or heat I enable show CPU usage form the developer menu in settings. This will show you an overlay list of running processes and you can tell if there is an app or service using heavily the CPU in the background

For the wake locks, try to use greenify app which hibernate the apps when you are not using them so it will not drain your battery by doing unnecessary sync like google+ for example.

Please read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49983655

you have an abnormal number of processes eating up your battery, therefore use greenefy to detect roggue apps, try freezing them and once you lock them up use the DU facility to stop unnecessary wakes.

Also, beware of freeware and addware, more so, if you are using the DU add blocker and you have a large number of free apps trying to connect to the add server to download their crap, the blocking service can be a cause of battery drain

My gratitude to all for your help!

...Your Gapps...again.
The previous post you suspected about my Gapps, indeed. (I'm now on PA Gapps 0207) It's weird the behavior of the Google Keyboard (which I prefer over the AOSP one, and that's why I fleshed the Add-on), but now I will get rid of it for sure.

For the wake locks, try to use greenify app which hibernate the apps when you are not using them so it will not drain your battery by doing unnecessary sync like google+ for example.
I rarely used greenefy in the past, never had a real problem with wakelocks, but I guess it's time to put it in the arsenal one more time, thanks

Not to mention that DU offers Wakelock Blocker and Apps Ops for taming the rogue apps.
Does the Wakelock Blocker of DU interferes in some way with Greenefy at the same time chas?

Please read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49983655

Like yours, most of my apps are paid ones, and now there's only a few of them installed, so that's odd... thanks for the link. I will try those advices as well ricardo.... will report to you later about results hoping this will help some one else too.

Anyway @chasmodo @AA1973 what are your Gapps of choice?

Good.. Now, I jus found someone bugging me, also, new battery, two days young, and a few hours after flashing today's build : the RILJ dialer service

So I just started to use the DU blocking service. Will see what happens and report back

Cheers

Edit: seems like contact sync triggers something in the RIL engine. It has settled now

Hi @chasmodo,

I'm finding the latest test build (as of yesterday 17th Feb) a little random... Seems to have a mind of its own at moment, like when it comes to unlocking, I have FaceUnlock enabled, and when it can't see my face it goes to PIN. However I can start tapping the numbers in, and like the screen will switch off mid-use...

But most annoying one for me, is the inclusion of the new NavBar... Personally I don't use it, and by default it appears to be alive, even though it's not enabled in Dirty Tweaks. I have to enable, just to disable it. But then coming from a Lockscreen it will re-enable itself, even though it's still disabled in the DirtyT... Can't find a way to totally disable it... :(

Also, on a completely different note... and just a quick question. Your DU Asylum Nightlies rom, is there anyway to use it without having the blacked out icons for system Apps? Wonna try that rom, but would like it as clean/pure as this rom is... If that makes sense?

Thanks, Lister

@JaCkaL_Sense

According to the dump just posted I dont see anything wrong with your phone.

You have been using it for 5h 45m and lost 6% of battery.

In any event, please read this

Sorry, but post #177 cannot be seen with the xda app.

Again, I cannot see anything wrong with your WLD screenshot except that seems that you are using Xposed framework.

Please read the Xposed framework OP, and do the same in these threads. It is not advised to use GB - Xposed in other than Nexus near - stock devices.
