Funny you should mention that, yea I originally tried that after installing the rom. Is there an issue with that particular app? I can't remember the error it was giving me though, can't test it cause I've already moved back to stock rooted 4.4.2.

Screen Casting

I have not been able to get screen casting to work. I can select it in Settings, but nothing happens, except it sometimes defeats my ability to connect to Wi-Fi (recovers upon reboot). Any tips on what to try?

Can you take a look around and see if this might be an aokp problem by any chance?
I'm rebuilding overnight with a fresh source pull.
I don't have a chromecast to test with though.

First post links for Gapps and latest rom build have been updated. Source built up to date of October 18, 2014.
Enjoy!
Hey, Hey Downloading now.
Can I just flash this new version over the 2014-07-25 ROM or would it be better to wipe/clean flash?

Thanks for all you have done for the 701, i really like the AOKP ROM. :good:

I think you should be OK for a direct flash overtop. But if you get any weirdness....clean flash please!

Just wanted to get back to you to report that "Dirty" flash worked without any problems but the next day I went ahead with a "Clean" Install because it gives me a chance to cleanup my apps and/or settings.:D Either way it runs great.

Thanks for all your work on this ROM, it is smooth, quick and trouble free. :good:

Smooth and Fast.

Clean installed this afternoon and been testing since...
Just great:good:
a few glitches though:
-stock browser fc when I try to open bookmarks
-kB battery doesn't show up

KB itself works perfect until now, including fn keys (at least those I uses)
Thanks for the great rom

Ha, that's why I had no browser! I still use the stock browser so I installed a stock browser I found on the net. That explains my problem with the bookmarks. Anyway to fix that, I mean other than installing Dolphin or Firefox?

The problem for me with the dock battery is that I don't have a dock...
I tried to patch in as much as I could find from cm so obviously I need more patches.

I just noticed that aokp has a lollipop branch so I'll try and get a build out soon.
I have no idea how stable their lollipop branch though...
That would be awesome, thank you for considering it. We really need that improved battery life lollipop claims. I get terrible results with even light use with all the current roms...

I synced the source up and it doesn't look like they've fully migrated to lollipop branch yet. There's some stuff still missing.
It is going to have to wait until they're fully migrated.
Also, can anyone in here report whether they are having massive android system battery drain on this rom since the very latest play update?

Hi paulicat, good to hear from you, hope all is well and YES i have had awful battery life recently. The timetable certainly looks like it might be from a recent android update, specifically the play store.

Wakelock Detector and BetterBatteryLife both show a relation to Google Play Store & WiFi always on (0% Deep Sleep).
i have tried CROMBi-kk rom as well as CM11 with the same results.
i'm actually glad you mentioned it because i was thinking that my battery was going bad.

Additionally, It seems to only be a problem with the TF701, my TF700 as well as my samsung devices are not having any battery drain issues.
looks like CROMi-X 6.1 (JB4.3) may not be affected but i am using "Amplify" the Xposed module for blocking wakelocks, alarms & services. it does appear that WiFi is always on so i am disabling amplify for a while and will let you know the results. I haven't tried CROMi-X 7 yet but i will after 6.1

as far as lollypop goes & if google stays true to form, it won't be totally stable & functional for a while.
an update of 4.4.4 might be nice (just saying):)
i will check back with my results :good:

I've been on your ROM for 5:30mins now flashed it with gapps-modular-full-4.4.4 installed all my apps and updated everything available. 5 Hours and 30mins with screen off after updated everything the battery drop only 5% I know it's still early let see next few days. My other tf701t locked and on stock rom the battery drop like crazy at least 10% per hour. I don't know what's going on and I hope we found the fix soon.

I was on stock Asus 4.4.4 for a bit, but the drain was horrible after the latest play store/services update.
I fresh installed my Oct 18 build along with the slim gapps 7/19 and no drain after 5 hours.
Will take a day or two before I'm convinced it's gone.
I'll rebuild 4.4.4 for any changes sometime soon but job transition in the next couple weeks along with Christmas so no promises on timeframe.
