OK, wiped and reflashed to make sure I'm on the recompiled build.

All works fine and very quick.

Tried using Green Machine 2.0.1 custom kernel, but it gives a camera FC. Green Machine 1.2.5 works fine with this build, and is very fast, has Double-tap to Wake all working brilliantly.

Guys. If you're having trouble with kernels, flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54643313. It'll fix the camera FCs.

That fix flashes kernel libs, stops dt2w from working, and completely defaets the object of installing a custom kernel in the first place.

Well, custom kernels don't exist for dt2w and stuff. Those are just added features.

Now I'm confused. So I flash a custom kernel, the camera doesn't work, so I flash the camera fix zip which is a sub-custom kernel from the Gumy branch, and the features of the custom kernel I'm trying to use then stop working. Yeah, that really makes sense.

Well, custom kernels exist for better performance or battery life or both. Nobody compiled a custom kernel exclusively for dt2w and stuff like that. These libs just disable that. The rest of the the stuff works perfectly. It's one or the other. You choose. And, that fix isn't a kernel. It's just the libs.


EDIT: I'm using the fix, and dt2w works perfectly. So I guess you're mistaken.

I flashed the nightly build from CYANOGENMOD cm-11-20140806-NIGHTLY-falcon.zip here and had no problem with the camera (not the MOTOG stock camera though).

It looks like the camera issue has been fixed in this version.

the only problem i encountered is the systemUI error on theme changed.

All camera related bugs are with custom roms i guess....most of the roms with customkernel has camera bugs :/

I even tried XPerienced12+ kernel and it worked well.

When I installed it I thought I had the wrong version of the kernel. I went, downloaded the TGM 2.0.1v and flash again.

Rectification:

Sorry for my lack of attention. By testing now, with the TGMKernel 2.0.1, I noticed a bug in the camera (do not know if it's happening to everyone or just me).

So ..
TGM with Kernel 2.0.1, the camera opens .. but ..

In photo mode, it freezes the screen to save.

In record mode, it records and saves normally .. also saves the photos you take during recording (by tapping on the screen) normally.

Thank GæxD for questioning me .. With that I saw that I passed wrong information.
