@woody1 - Concerning the first problem you mentioned: try longpress on the toggle. It switches between three modes: high accuracy, powersaving and device only.
Thanks, I didn't know about the long press option. That works, but it's not well-implemented, because you have to cycle multiple times and the "Consent to location form" pops up while you're doing it.

In general, I'm not very happy with the notification and quick settings options in Kitkat. People complain about the stock rom, but it actually gives you more control over settings and they're easier to work with. The lack of a clean GPS setting is one example. I notice that the slider for the screen brightness doesn't tell you the % setting. Maybe I need to explore some other Kitkat roms and see how they handle notifications and settings.

Mahdi Rom works fine, thx.
I've tried qualcomm optimized dalvik patch for cm11 , but the G Pad became slower (25k+ -> 20-22k @ antutu).
Has this rom already optimized dalvik libraries ?

Anybody know how to make the lock screen auto-rotate? I can't find a setting for it
settings-customization-quick settings panel-tiles and layout and add an orientation tile. That way you can select between auto rotation and locked rotation for the mode you want. I saw at your previous post you said there is not a clear option for gps, you can add a location tile so you can switch between wifi, gps or both. I find this rom better than the stock rom, it certainly has more options.

Thanks for the suggestions, but neither of them give me what I was looking for. First, the location tile is enabled by default, so it was already there. Yes you can toggle through the options but the process is not very good, because you have to repeatedly pull down the menu, answer the "consent form" etc. Very messy. What's needed is a way to keep "location" turned on or off, but selectively enable GPS.

Also, the auto-rotation tile has no effect on the lock screen, which is the issue I was asking about. The lock screen doesn't rotate to landscape even when auto-rotate is on. So far, I haven't found any way to make the lock screen rotate.

As far as the Mahdi rom, the good things are that it's snappy and the sound is much improved over the stock rom. Slimport works great. Some of the customization options are useful. On the stock rom, the pulldown menu is unnecessarily cluttered, but it has all of the options I need readily available.

My lock screen auto-rotates fine! I'm running Mahdi-Rom 2.5 [03/02].

Gentlemen...
Auto-Rotation on the Lock Screen is easily obtained by going into Display>Rotation and checking the box "INCUDE LOCK SCREEN"

Done.

If it were not for this ROM... My G-Pad would have long since been sold.. This puppy ranks amongst the best ROM's I've seen on any platform.
oh lol i was looking at the customization menus and i couldnt find an option, i didnt know it was there! thank you !

Two things : will my sleep wake case still work with this rom. And secondly anyone had any joy using skygo app after installing a rom. Its kinda making me hold off but I really hate lg stock rom. Missing vanilla android so much

Fixed USB mouse problem

For anyone who's interested, I was able to fix the problem I had with a USB wireless mouse. The problem was that the right mouse button behaves the same as a left mouse button. Normally, a right mouse button click performs a "back" action, which is very useful.

I used installed this keymapper app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tincore.and.keymapper. It was a bit of a learning curve to get it set up, but it does the job. If you wanted to, you could use it to remap other mouse or keyboard keys.

I would prefer to see this fixed in the rom, but the keymapper app is a viable workaround.

Yup, I use the IVSO case and the sleep wake works perfectly fine (also double tap works too).
I can't tell you about Sky go app as I don't have sky, but both the Sky go and Sky Go tablet apps are compatible according to play store.
If it runs well or not, that's another question entirely...looking at user ratings and issues with kitkat, i think it's pot luck.

Yes you can flash CM11, but you cannot do a "dirty" flash (ie flash over another rom, keeping same system settings, apps etc). You will need to backup your current rom to sd card and do a full factory wipe before you install CM11. If you change roms regularly, I would always set up each rom to your liking, back them up fully, and then switch around roms when you please (when you stick to one, you can update to latest version of that rom by dirty flashing it and then replace your old backup of that rom).

QRemote

loved this Rom...it was my daily driver after hearing how crap the sound and how horrible the gamma was on the original Rom. The only thing I missed was the QRemote application. Now theres a Kitkat rom available, any chance of getting the qremote from it working on Mahdi?
