thanks a lot @Pman! Will test!

One doubt, what is xposed?

No probs ;)
Xposed allows you to modify your rom by adding modules to it. My phone is a china phone so I can't put a custom rom on it. It runs near stock so I use a few modules with xposed to get features that a custom rom has, for example features that Mahdi provide.

I still use it for my G Pad as I need things like blocking apps from starting up or wakelocking (Per App Hacking), block ads (MinMinGuard), Tint the status bar according to the app i'm in, e.g. status bar changes to green/grey when using play store (Tinted Status Bar) and few others too. Best of them all is GravityBox which basically brings my phone to the standard of Mahdi, it's the kitchen sink of customising, thankfully don't need to use it with Mahdi rom as Mahdi provides all the features (besides volume orientation).

There's a list of modules over here - link - i personally recommend getting it to enhance your experience and also if you have a device where you don't want to bother unlocking bootloader, install custom recovery, wipe device, install rom, install gaaps etc etc - this skips all that.

Latest version, sometimes it drops while working on wifi, and it will working after some time. can't find a pattern
Hmm I think m.mcrespo was having wifi problems too. Op3a recommended, a couple of pages back, to reboot into recovery and wipe "Dalvik/Cache".
If you have a battery saving app, that might be causing conflict. I would recommend to disable any wifi power saving tweaks it does and test to see if that helps.

Last thing that might help, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > 3 dots > Advanced:

1. Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep - you could change this to Always so it's always on (might be bad for battery though)
2. Untick "Scanning always available"
3. Make sure Wi-Fi region code is set to your destination
4. Prioritise your Wi-Fi networks - e.g move home network to the top
5. Wi-Fi optimisation - If ticked, try unticked, that might do the trick.

Strange some application with internet works fine, but some doesn't I can browse/search play store, but no download.
When searching google, i get results but clicking the links give an error. > weird
Nice ROM, but the strange wifi problem is quite irritating.
Sometimes there is absolute no connection, wifi symbol is full with white lines (not orange) other phone and other tablet no connection problems. After a while connection is working fine, restart not allways help, turn off/on wifi is no solution
Is there a work around.

tia

that is not related to this rom, i had this problem with Stock rom too.
(it should be related to the hardware of the tablets or may router used and settings .)

I had to let my GPad replace 3 times, for this I have peace now get. :) ;)

Best Regards

I think it's related with rom I used Mahdi for one month maybe after problems with wifi. I changed for linaro and no problems and I am using same Tablet and router.

as i said, i have with my new GPad, and together with Mahdi Rom (or Stock) no more problems.:good:

should not the problems can be fixed, I would send by LG for repair.
this is the best solution because the error keeps coming back (various roms). ;)

Best Regards

Yeh might be, also not enough customisation compared to Nova (even if you get the GEL xposed settings)
Hopefully next update should fix lag issues with rotation and gaming.

Just an idea, you could try out the following:

Settings > Developer options >
1. Change Window/Transition/Animator animations to .5x - might help ease any rotation lag (done it on mine)
2. Tick Force GPU rendering - again might help with lag issues, the gpu controls ui instead of cpu
3. Under "Apps" > Select runtime, use ART - might help with some games - will break Xposed though

Settings > Performance > CPU parameters > Governor > Change to "Interactive"

Might be more responsive and better performance with gaming. Some say changing to "Performance" is a good option too and doesn't hurt your battery life, not tested this one so not sure myself.

Other settings in the Performance area go over my head, im sure someone with technical knowledge on kernels would know what to tweak with to get the best out of there tab without sacrificing battery life.

Which version of Mahdi you using?

Does it disconnect or drop off after a while or is it something that doesn't work when you unlock device?

Wifi with white lines is normal, that's when it's connected and working, you'll see the up/down arrows on the wifi logo too which indicate it's working correctly.
Changing to performance governor is stupid. Saying it doesn't effect battery is stupid. It's like saying driving everywhere full throttle doesn't effect fuel use....

Bit rude. Was trying to help Op3a on fixing lag issues with a few suggestions. I mentioned "Performance" governor because I have seen some posts from peeps that use it, set up correctly, and not had major impact on battery. Also I mentioned that I have not used this myself so I can't agree or disagree on the benefits, but I mentioned it as I have seen it posted a few times.

Having checked a great post by HipKat on governors explained, performance gets to idle quicker whilst faster at completing a task, I guess there's reasoning behind why some use this (assuming it's set up correctly, which I mentioned before, i'm no expert in kernel adjustments).

I think instead of accusing my suggestion as "stupid", you should come up with your own suggestion(s).

From looking at your number of thanks and posts, I would have considered you an experienced user who would have done that....

I merely stated that as the performance governor holds the frequency at Max and is very wasteful in terms of battery life. Sorry about my rude remark

I have been using this rom now for a couple of days and I must say I am very impressed so far. Some apps in the play store didn't want to install, but I used Xposed and All Play Store Apps to get around that issue. The only two problems I have found since is booting up and the screen being dim until locked and unlocked again and the second is the Battlefield 4 Commander App won't launch properly. The first issue is not really a problem, but if anyone knows how to get the commander app running I would be grateful.

Thank you for this ROM. I have a question, but I'm not actually sure if its ROM specific or not, so I apologize if its off topic. How can I get the two column style of system menu (example: http://cdn3.pcadvisor.co.uk/cmsdata/features/3461225/Android_4.3_step3_thumb.png)? I know LG's stock has its own system settings menu, but I've seen screenshots of at least the Nexus 10 with that style of menu. Is it something that can be turned on, or is it limited to the screen resolution (with the LG 8.3 being too small?)?

Thanks.

You can use xposed app settings to make this affect for you. ;)

About to give this a go on my G pad...quick question though. The instructions say flash ROM, then GAPPS AND then do factory reset? Am I missing something or should I do the factory reset first and then ROM, GAPPS, reboot?

Thanks! I assume its the com.android.settings I want to change. Any suggestion on what DPI it needs to be changed to? I've tried several and while its clearly scaling to a different size its still just one column.

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out... screen dp is what I had to change.
