Well no more duplicate messages for me as of the last few days at least, im not sure about the other poster but I do use google voice. My current issue with the ROM is the constant voicemail notification, sometimes I will have two ( one which can be swiped away) the other is just constant and seems to be no way of removing. Also I have checked and have no new pending voicmails.

Scratch that duplicates flooding in as I type gonna search how to do a log
I think both those issues are due to the google voice app, it really sucks in my opinion... i've had both of those happen.

try clearing data for google voice app and setting it up again.

Do you by chance have Google voice set up on your phone and have voice+ integration configured? I've had nothing but problems with it and sometimes I don't get messages for a long time and then all of the sudden I get tons at once

I do not have voice+ configured. I use Google voice for voicemail only.

The "new" messages are actually previous messages I've received and viewed.

What is your messaging app? I am currently using EvolveSMS, and found that I had to disable notifications from the stock AOSP messaging app or else I received redundant notifications that refused to be swiped away from the notification panel.

Im using Hangouts, I figured I'd give it go for a while.

I thought Hangouts was OK, but don't like the character limit for a single message, and the lack of built-in theming possibilities, although Team Black Out offers a nice alternative with their transparent version. EvolveSMS has been working well for me, but like I said, if the AOSP messaging app was allowed notification access as well, it would put notifications in my drawer that wouldn't go away until I disabled the messaging app notifications from Settings/Apps.

Only other SMS app I am using is SMS popups because hangouts doesn't do popups.

What happens is out of no where, I'll have notification of previously received sms messages. I don't get dbl notifications from having 2 messaging apps.

as an example, lets say over 3 days I get 2 messages on day 1, 4 messages on day 2 and 3 on day 3. I view all of them.
then on day 4 I get notified of 9 new messages, which are all the previous messages that have already been received. SMS popup will display them and I'll have a notification in my status bar from hangouts saying I have 9 new messages, though nothing is bold to indicate it is new. its very strange.

I think I've give that evolve app a try. Thanks @Mr. Struck for the assistance.

You're welcome. What you are experiencing now is very strange indeed, I wish I could give you an answer specific to that problem! However, I think you will like EvolveSMS, it was featured here on XDA a few days ago and I have been using it since. Lots of options, and I went ahead and did the two in-app purchases to support the dev and unlock all options.

Edit: Forgot to mention, this app sends messages quicker than any other app I have seen, virtually instantaneous, whereas Hangouts would show that bouncing three dot animation for a few seconds (for me at least) almost every time, even for a quick "Hi" or "OK" type of message.

the latest 4/27 nightly has reintroduced the phone dialer issues that were fixed in the 4/15 experimental build. anybody else seeing this issue?

Edit: CyanFox confirmed on the Google+ page that he needs to revert some commits to fix this issue.

I've been having a weird issue ever since I flashed CyanFox. Everyday on the way to work, around the same area, my phone will reset itself. It gets stuck in a bootloop cycle for about 4-6 times, then its fine. I don't have service inside where i work so once i get there my phone goes into airplane mode. Its fine throughout the day, no resets or any other issues. Once i turn airplane mode off on my way home, within 5 minutes it reset and gets stuck in a bootloop again. After that its fine. It never does it at home in the evening or during the night. Anyone experience anything like this or have any ideas? I never had this issue prior to flashing a 4.4 rom, but have had it on each one i've tried. I havent tried flashing to an earlier version to see if it stops.

Odd. Is this on a clean flash and not using anything custom like a different kernel or anything? Also, which build?

Installed the ROM yesterday and I like it. Fast, simple, and battery life is good. Had a re-boot while pairing and using bluetooth but that's it so far.
Question: Is there a way to change the device name in this ROM?

I did both a clean and dirty flash, same issue both ways. Im currently on the 4.2.2 build with no custom kernal or anything, but had the same problem on the previous build as well. Im pretty stumped.

My install keeps failing before even installing. I follow install directions to the T. I even checked MD5. Idea using last stable for sprint galaxy s3

Good to hear! +1 on the app, I am really loving it myself too; happy it was featured here on XDA to get it the exposure it deserves!
just tried it out, like it so far!

what recovery are you using?
recovery version?
what modem do you have installed?
have you been able to install any other CM11 based ROM?

I'm on the latest experimental version (1/27) and don't see Halo anywhere. No option to select in the notification bar.

o
Flashed 2.0.2 exp version and everything is good. Only have 2 issues.

When I first flashed I clicked on the halo icon in the status bar and kept getting android FC.

2nd issue is when using Google play. It happened on my way to and from work. After a while of listening to music it kept skipping songs by itself and the volume went crazy.

A reboot seemed to fix that.

Battery life is great thpougn !
