So, should I use the V500-4.2.2-Base or V500-4.4.2-Base from that thread?

As this is a 4.4.x rom, I guess I should go with V500-4.4.2-Base?

No, use the 4.2 base. That's the whole confusion. Any non stock 4.4 rom (aosp) only boots correctly on the 4.2 bootstack. No aosp roms have been updated to run on the official 4.4 bootstack.

While on the other end if you want to run the official lg 4.4, flash the 4.4 bootstack first then you can flash one of the official kk roms

I guess you're using slims gapps and trds?
with tdrs enabled a dark playstore is perfectly normal.

And it's not update related, tdrs playstore exists for quite sometime now.

In SlimCenter->SlimOta I have a error message:

"Mise à jour: ne peut pas lire les propriétés de SlimOta"

I have build 5.10, I'm a French user.

Do you know why I get this message?

And another question on updates: If I want to update this rom with weekly updates, can I dirty flash (cache and dalvik cache only) ?

1) This error should appear, due to the fact that there is no stable release for our tablet, yet.

2) normaly yes, i would recommend to format system by hand, too.

Thank you for your reply.

Here is what I did to update successfully with the last build.

1) Wipe cache/Dalvik cache/System
2) Install new build
3) Wipe cache/Dalvik cache
4) Install gapps minimal (had to reinstall because at reboot after the 3 first steps I had a force close....) :(

My best practice for SlimKat dirty flashing:
In TWRP go to wipe and press advanced. From advanced menu choose these 3: cache, dalvik, system.
Press home and go to install tab. Flash SlimKat ROM. Go back flash latest Slim beta gapps. You need to flash gapps because wiping system deletes gapps. And if you are dirty flashing wiping (formatting in CWM) system is recommended.

For clean flash do as above and just add data in advanced wipe.
And I suggest doing it on Monday when stable 6.0 comes :)

You can generally always dirty flash. Also you don't EVER need to wipe cache and dalvik when you flash rom,. Flashing ROM ALWAYS wipes cache and dalvik automatically, ALWAYS! Either full wipe or dirty flash.
But just dirty flash.
Edit: The gpad hasn't been wiped since slimkat 4.4 (official and switched to infected at some point). My nexus got wiped last in December, because I thought I had a nandroid when I did, and before that when I got it. I beta test so I flash more than once a day often. Get over the wipe paranoia keep a recent nandroid for when the dev messes up.

Hey guys. I just got the gpad and am going to put Slim on it (and only Slim). I was hoping somebody could confirm the steps I'm going to take? It came with 4.4.2 on it.

1. Already rooted using towelroot.
2. Use flashify to flash twrp (the recovery image).
3. Backup stock ROM
4. Flash the 4.2.2 bootstack and boot back into recovery to then flash ROM/gapps

Is there anything I'm missing. I've been trying to pull info from different threads and seems like that should be correct. I will so be flashing from an exfat SD card.

Any confirmation or change would be appreciated. Thanks, guys.
