Demetris, thanks for the information. I wasn't trying to rush you or anything, I know it's a work in progress. I was just checking to see if you were still involved with this project or had given up. Hadn't heard from you in @ 2 weeks. Glad to see you are still alive and kickin'!

Display corruption

It's 11:30 here, should be home by 4:30. Will give it a try for sure!
Don't bother. The display on build 3 is all jacked up. Clean flashed from Mahdi and flashed twice to be sure. Sorry, didn't snag a logcat.

Demetris- it would help if you would state in the OP that you obviously don't own the device and have no idea if the rom will work or not. I would. I appreciate your efforts, but the title of this thread should say "ALPHA: Testers needed!"

Due to the recent kernel/proprietary/device tree changes qcomm display is broken on aosp roms.
I already invested many hours trying again to find the golden spot for them to be functional trying various branches caf/new/native.
It seems some people find it a pita to flash a rom and if is not working to go back to their previous one.
You can't imagine how pita is for me trying to build this and same time have to deal with them.
You request for ALPHA in the OP hmm..
Testers wanted! wtf
How about thread is now closed.
Enjoy.
Edit:
Thread is now open, work is resume...

So...
It seems Ricardo fixed the display issues in kernel. :)
I really hope so lol
Expect a new SlimKat soon :highfive:
Are you restarting development?
With phones I can test on the go. I use the GPad mostly at home so no time to test most of the time. I'm sure that's the case with most users. So please be a bit more patient with us. We appreciate the fact you are doing your best without even owning the device.;)

Hi Demetris, I just thought I'd ask here, but are these the same issues that you had in v4 (I think) of your kernel and if so will you be doing any more development of it?
Thanks in advance rich

Hey, does this rom have an option for having the navigation bar at the right of the screen when in landscape? Default is always at the bottom no matter the rotation. It'd be great to be able to have the nav. bar like the Nexus4 on the sides at landscape, because it would 1) hide the light bleeding, and 2) it would be easier to reach the home button - it's too far away from both hands when nav. bar is at the bottom.

Thanks @Demetris for reopening this thread and keeping on with SlimKat development for V500 - Much appreciated!
Now I can consider getting V500 again, I'm still following one UK on-line shop with brand new V500 on sale for 249 EUR only :)

100% agree with above, but I don't think it's going to happen here. Slim treats AOSP way seriously and keeps to Google guidelines, which unfortunate for tablet users convenience is navbar on the bottom in landscape. At least it's how it was when I was checking last time SlimKat on my old Nexus 7. I couldn't find the option to move navbar from bottom to right side when in landscape.
Only hope is that @Demetris can add such feature on top of SlimKat build. But then it may cause conflicts in ROM, so better option may be to stay 100% Slim.

No, not same issues, just kernel was not bootable and doing the loki way everytime was getting tiresome. I really wish for a fastboot flash capability :)

@Natakranta
Gpad will get 100% slim rom as all other supported devices have.
No mods, ever.
You can though freely request features through the appropriate channels (forum/irc/etc)

So, boys and girls.
First of all need to be said, am very proud for my work!
So for this to be slim compatible i had to make my own aosp kernel, update the proprietary blobs with some from Gpad gpe rom some from Galaxy S4 Gpe edition (I9505G) :D
What you get?
You get a hell of a rom, i could say better than anything you dream of.
Can't be more AOSP than this one!
Literally took me 4 days of hacking my way through source to get here :)
So Enjoy my hard work.

Flash away.
Booted like a charm. Will test further when I get a chance, but this build is a go.

It's restoring my N5 apps not what I had running on the G Pad
Edit: It's smooth as butter. The best experience on this device so far

this runs so beautifully, but i get an error every time i reboot about the date&time being wrong- i thought it was supposed to be fixed with TWRP 2.7.0.0 but the recovery thinks it's a way different time and it's therefore affecting my Google Services Framework sync.

any ideas how to fix this?

Running great Demetris! Only small problem I have seen is rotation sticks sometimes. Same thing was happening on Dirty Unicorns for me so no biggie. Glad to finally have me some Slimkat!

After 2 reboots date and time sticks for me.
Settings->date&time->GMT+2:00 & 24h format enabled + Automatic time zone enabled->reboot
After reboot i had the complain for the first time. I set up again the correct time zone to my country zone and after second reboot problem was fixed.
