Okay, I recently upgraded to 1.0.6 from the older 1.2.1 release in the previous thread. A few things I wanted to ask about here:

1. The default wallpaper (the red/yellow/green/blue one) shows up cropped (more zoomed in), so you only see the red part of the image. Previously, you could see most of it, so the other colors were visible as well, and it looked quite nice. Now, both of these ROM releases were Lollipop-based, so why would there be a change in how wallpaper is displayed? Is there a way to configure this? (Not sure if this is worth a bug report)

2. The "Bubbles" and "Spectrum" wallpapers, which I guess are the live ones, give an "App isn't installed" error as reported by Blues5thecup here. I recall that live wallpapers were removed in the name of debloating, but do we know what specific app should be installed to get those two working?

3. So, these Nexus sounds, versus the Motorola ones: Do people here prefer the former? I'm thinking here specifically of the menu-touch, unlock, and screen-off sounds, though there are probably others. The Nexus sounds, IMO, just feel flimsy---the Motorola sounds are more crisp, and lower in pitch, and feel more solid in comparison.

It reminds me of how in the automobile industry, manufacturers put a crazy amount of thought/design into the sound that the doors make when closing, because that's a big part of people's perception of the build quality of the car. (Here is, in fact, a paper that studies this phenomenon.)

A priori, I would have expected Nexus/Google to do a better job of this than Motorola, because third-party phone vendors rarely add anything of value to stock Android. But on this particular aspect, I'm thinking Motorola actually put in more thought and care than Google.

What do folks here think?

Shawn, is there any way you can provide the droid widget so I can have it on CM12? I'm downloading your build to test, and if it's stable enough I would love that widget

Sent from my xt1063 using XDA-Premium 4 mobile app

Enjoy
Shawn

Are you going to lock this thread and move on to concentrate on CM-Prime?
I saw on that thread you were going to work to move all the Titan Prime features to CM-Prime.

Your work is great! I look forward to following you where you go.

Thanks, man!

Yes...I might release one or two more builds of this ROM but I am transitioning to CM Prime....Once all the Titan Prime features have been ported to CM Prime I am going to lock this thread ;) I noticed some more devs were starting to make roms for this device (stock based) so I decided my work here is done....My goal was to get devs rolling on ROM development...Now am going to work with AOSP and CM to make a much more powerful ROM.....that ROM is CM-Prime...I hope you enjoy it.

It would be great if you could squash the last few bugs out of this Titan Prime ROM before you move to CM only based ROM. I have reported a couple of minor bugs on xt1068 using v1.1. It's nice to have a stock based (but much improved) ROM to use when stability is essential. Thanks again for all your hard work.

SO I was working on the ext alpha build...And I had a few questions for you guys:

  1. Do you guys want a file explorer pre-installed....If so which one (Don't say ES File Explorer)?
  2. Do you want me to remove Sound Recorder form the ROM
  3. Do you want me to pre-install GApps and Google Play Services API+Framework? (Or do like it as is....you flash an extra GApps Package?
  4. What apps do you want me to remove....If anything ;)?
  5. And other features you want....Let me know ;)?

  • Yes.
  • Yes.
  • NOOO!
  • All pre-installed Google apps. I'm on 1.04, so things may have changed, but I really don't get why we can't just pick and choose Google apps from the Play Store. It saves you work, and saves us space. Also, remove that waste of space called AudioFX and replace it with DSP Manager. If possible. If not possible, then just leave it be, but it really does bug me how little it does.

So much for "long term support". How long will you be supporting CM Prime? Please try to support it for at least five years. More would be ideal, though.

I second with someone elses post that hope you continue to work out the bugs before moving on. I love this ROM and I'm saddened that it will no longer be supported :(

I never said I would completely end support.....All I am saying is I will now spend most of my time on CM Prime....If there is every an Android OS upgrade I will upgrade this ROM to the latest version (regardless if Motorola releases and update).....Every now and then there will be an update....I will start out by transitioning the update schedule for titan prime from daily updates to weakly updates.....If a lot of people still use the ROM, I will go back to daily updates ;)

    To the OP.

I see no one is saying it, so I will, and please do not take it in the wrong way because my intention it is just to give my opinion.

I just tried the 1.2 version, and I would like to give my take on it:
    - I personally don't care about the CM apps, so I just delete them from the ZIP file, no issues there.
    - On the changelog you mention different additions, which are not present: Clear All button on Recents (solved using Gravity Box), Theme Engine, AudioFX (which I delete because it never makes any difference and there is Audio Effects already), Dev-Tools, CM12 SIM Toolkit, PA Gapps support (which was the feature I was actually waiting for), SuperSU is not on the Settings Menu and not even the newest version.

The point being is this is happening with every release.
I know your work is free and on your free time (I sent a donation weeks ago, just in case), but it is necessary to pay more attention to details because a lot of people use your ROM (1000+), and even though it is up to the choice of every user to flash your ROM, as of now it is kinda the only option because of stability and RAM management unless it is Stock.

You have a lot going on, many ROMs to maintain, but none of them are coming up the way you promise they are going to be.
My recommendation, leave projects out, at least for the time being, or at least until Android 5.1 is released and we finally are able to use AOSP or CM12 based ROMs, only then it would make sense to try those, because again, only stock based ROMs are the only ones usable at the moment.

I'm not being ungrateful, actually because I care I write this.

    Thank you.

Thank you for writing this....I am not offended but actually thankful.....I completely understand your point and you are right.....I have too many ROM (for this device alone) and am also developing for other devices as we speak.....As a result I have purposed this idea:

    1) I will try me hardest to take care of the OP post...Making sure all details are correct
    2) Updates dates will be more orderly....Once a week (unless there is a MAJOR issue)
    3) Since I found the cause of the SUB1/SUB2 on XT1068/69 I can now make the ROM unified for all Moto G 2014 variants
    4) I am closing this thread and my XT1068/69 thread and am opening up a new UNIFIED thread
    5) I am going to take care of all the features I already promised before adding new features (PA support, clear all button, advanced reboot, etc)
    6) Since more that 5000 users use Titan Prime (XT1063/64 and XT1068/69 users combined) I will take care of this thread more (as in reporting unnecessary posts)
    7) I will listen to user complaints/suggestions much more
    8) THIS ROM WILL BE MY MAIN PRIORITY UNTIL CM 12.1 RELEASES

Again @SirRhor thanks you for pointing this out for me.... :)
