Thanks for the reply!! I know how to flash but I am stuck with the recovery mode. I am not able to go in recovery mode, I used some apps like fast boot. I saw all tutorials ut that needs bootloader unlocked. I have locked bootloader with bootloader unlock allowed NO :( That's why I am stuck with recovery mode. Help me please!!!
I have a locked bootloader too and the flash passes normally
Checkyour zip md5. Try to flash with twrp recovery. If it failes then reflash a frech ftf kitkat version. Re-root then re install recovery then update againe :)

Thanks!! I have tried TWRP recovery, but it flashes recovery. I got that recovery flashed successfully. But after when I went in recovery mode from that app the phone just rebooted normally. Well now I will flash old kitkat ftf, flash recovery and then update. :)
Edit: Now the problem is I dont have kitkat ftf of customized Indian Firmware or any other firmware on XperiaFirm in flashtool.

When I update to latest firmware version 10.7.A.0.228 CH. Almost functions work well but My phone could not display on Bravia TV W800C by using screen-monitoring function via wifi direct. Using screen-monitoring via local wifi network is OK.

To check my phone, I back to the 4.4.4 to test screen monitoring via Wifi Direct and local Wifi network. Both of them are OK.

Does anyone test this function? May Wifi direct on 10.7.A.0.228 problem, is this right? My phone is stock rom.

I have flashed successfully but I have lost root and recovery.

I then used this method to root :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/guide-how-to-root-xperia-z-android-5-0-t3151618

But I have failed, not sure where I went wrong.

So, I would like to do it all over again.

Since I don't have recovery mode anymore, can I flash the ROM via flashtool?

I need advice, hopefully some of you can help me out.

Thank you very much everyone.
Hey lonelywolf90,

You could extract dualrecovery.zip from inside that C6603_.228_5.1.1_Pre-Rooted_XZDR_Xposed.zip file and again extract all from dualrecovery.zip to somewhere you find it easily. then there is install.bat file which you launch from you PC and choose option most suitable for you. options 3, 1 and 2 would be my priority choice. Since you have SuperSU? installed?
your phone must be on and have debugging and unknown sources enabled from phones settings developers options and security form settings
there's also REAM ME FIRST file inside bootloader.zip
I cannot garantee that this will 100% work because I cannot test it with my phone but it has worked for me when I was using locked bootloader!

You can also extract all those 3 zipfiles from rom zip and flash those 3 files from the recovery. <-- this if you didn't get root right after flashing rom and booted succesfully to Operating system.

I hope this amateur helped atleast some way :)
Do not hesitate to ask before going further.

someone tell and correct what's method for fastest Root. I had to flash Stock 5.0.2 rom and then i could root and install recovery but I really cannot remember which other method I tried back then.
and the time with Kitkat... even worse.
Was it possible to flash boot.img(recovery included) with fastboot file using command "fastboot flash boot boot.img"? without quote.

Edit:
Check again that kingroot option

@lonelywolf90 i don't understand how you lost recovery? did you flash the zip file from the thread ? if you did it does contain a working recovery and should work , if it doesn't i think you have a problem or you did something after flashing the zip file that turned the installation to default without root ... if so, you have 2 options (i prefer the 2nd one)
1- do a factory reset to insure everything is clean and the base Rom itself is OK, if the ROM itself have issues because of of something that happened before or after flashing it, so this might cause a bootloop, turning the device of or restarting if a bootloop accrued is by holding the power button the Vol up for about 10 seconds.... if that happens turn the device off na f flash a clean firmware from Flashtool ...if the device did a factory reset OK, then you rom is good it just has no root for one reason or another, so...
go to this post
Super Su for LP
and follow the guide, it's more manual than the one you visited but i guarantee it works flawlessly. ..after you root and get supersu go to XZDR thread (or extract the recovery from the zip as @F4113n suggested ) and install it as he also described ... do all the above on a clean install, that mean just the android firmware, don;'t install any other app until you get both root and recovery, also if you have a clean LP rom don't use the xposed from this zip, it may cause your device to bootloop, there's a newer one released on the Xposed thread that fixes that issue, if the above doesn't work it means you're doing something wrong , probably something is installed that causes the problems, or you flashed the zip from this thread in a wrong way so you lost both recovery and root but the Xposed files are still there and they're causing issues.
2- this is in case the 1st option didn't work out or like me you like a clean install,,, so just flash the new LP .222 (i recommend it) or .228 with flashtool (you can find links to both roms on the general section. ), Roms to be flashed with Flashtool are .ftf files not zip, zip is only to be flashed from a recovery.
or you can even flash it with the Sony software (it will download the latest automatically) , after you get a clean install follow the root i descried on the 1st option then recovery (then xposed if you want)

I actually almost installed the recovery into my XZ.

It kept showing the error where adb is not recognized and I realised that I did not install Sony PC companion.

After install Sony PC Companion and executing a factory reset, I got into a bootloop. I'll need to fix this first starting all over again to root and install recovery to my XZ. Long day.

Yup, I did a factory reset and it got into a bootloop.

I guess I got to find a ftf ROM file and flash via Flashtool now.

The ROM file provided by Ben Ling is a zip file, I will need to source elsewhere for the ftf file. However, if you happen to know where, kindly let me know.

Thanks alot.

I appreciate your replies, it really helped me understand the process even more.

I got my XZ into a bootloop.

Luckily it is fixed by using the repair my phone/tablet in phone/tablet software update via Sony PC Companion.

Now I'm back to 10.7.A.228, hopefully I get things right this time. Root and recovery, here I come!

Flashtool have driver installerpackage inside it's installation folder where you can get adb drivers.
Pardon me I didn't mention that you must install those drivers first before doing anything.
If you have windows 8, 8.1 or 10 you must enter into driver signature disabled mode from windows settings(check google) and after restarting there you can install drivers for your phone.
Edit.
I always select drivers "Flashtool Drivers", "Fastboot Drivers" then scroll down about halfway there and you see "Xperia Z and SO-02E ..." and then just install... I recommend to boot your device either into fastboot or flashboot mode before hitting that install button so they will be recognized for your phone... Thats just my style to do that.

Ya, I'm using 8.1 64-bit. Doing the driver signature disabled mode now. Then install the adb drivers. Hopefully when I try to install XZ Dual Recovery, I don't get the 'adb' is not recognizable error again after that.

UPDATE :
I did the driver signature disabled mode already.
I also installed the drivers but I still get the same error, I don't know where went wrong.

Kindly advice me, I have rooted the XZ but I could not install recovery.

you don't need the ADB drivers to just flash the phone, (they're useful but only if you're going to use ADB)
you need to root before installing recovery , and finally here's an ftf file \
https://mega.nz/#!4JZGQZyR!LatWoNqMa1yGAFtg1j51cRnojAtLxqYcQGT3oxDcur4
to flash through Flashtool, there's a tutorial on how to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/guide-how-to-package-flash-stock-roms-t2914567
there's a part about crating ftf on the tutorial, you can scip it because you have your downloaded ftf.

Update,
@lonelywolf90 just saw your update on xzdr, do you have root ans SuperSU installed?

You got my respect for such a prompt and detailed reply. Kudos man!

I already root using Kingroot and have SuperSU by using the method theduke7 mentioned in his reply.

Are u saying that the XZDR is giving adb errors was because it wasn't rooted? I don't get it. Adbshell was granted by SuperSU already.

XZDR should prompt you on the phone for 2 permissions, make sure you have usb debugging enabled on the phone (this might be the issue) , also i used XZDR installer several times, never needed to install ADB drivers, so i suggest uninstalling them and trying after that, also check your antivirus, make sure the real-time scanner is disabled, it causes errors on XZDR sometimes,
when you start the XZDR install.bat do it normally not with "Run As Admin" ,
you should get the menu, select the 1st option (rom rooted with SuperSU. it'll prompt the phone to ask permission, when granted it will work for seconds then asks you another permission on the phone, when granted you'll need to press any keyboard key on the computer ...then it should work.
XZDR should work and any problem with installing it has to do with the connection to phone not the rom , if the issue persist, try downloading a new XZDR and not use the one packaged on this Rom.

@lonelywolf90 one more thing... try installing just TWRP recovery fro the following link
https://twrp.me/devices/sonyxperiaz.html
it has an APK that you can install directly from android without the need to a computer.
if it works and you still need xzdr you can boot to TWRP wipe system and cache, flash XZDR (newest version)

I already enabled USB debugging and unistalled the adb drivers.

I also disabled real time protection on my Windows Defender since I don't use antivirus.

I still get that adb error in XZDR :
"adb is not recognized as an internal or external command"

I gave up. There was also no prompt to grant access for any permission when I chose any options in XZDR. I tried the latest XZDR and also the packaged one, but to no avail.

Got a feeling it is Windows 8.1 issue as well, I never had this when I was rooting using my Windows 7 last year.

I'm going to try TWRP now, maybe it is much easier. Thanks theduke7 :D

UPDATE : Tried the link you provided to install TWRP using apk, still failed. OMG!

It says 'Remount system failed!'

This is just frustrating, I wonder if I need to factory reset and start all over again.

UPDATE 2 : I've done some checking and they said the TWRP method using XZRecovery doesn't work for newer versions of Android, that is why the remount failed. I hope that is true. I'm seeking another alternative to get recovery into my XZ.

UPDATE 3 : I fixed the adb problem by altering the environment variables after installing adb
Now a new problem emerges. It says that my XZ doesn't have busybox

UPDATE 4 : I tried using TWRP Manager to install recovery, it didn't work. It installed the recovery but did not reboot into recovery. After that, when I accessed TWRP manager again, it said that custom recovery is not installed or detected. I really give up, lol. Is there a way to start all over again? I would like to flash this rom into the XZ without recovery, is it possible?
