Correct. Why is it that exposed is not to be mentioned? Is that a no no thing?Whoa did i miss out on some xda drama? is there a reason xposed can't be mentioned in ROM communities?

First of all it's "Xposed".Correct. Why is it that exposed is not to be mentioned? Is that a no no thing?

Xposed is a framework hack that hack cause 90% of rom issues. 100% of the things Xposed can do is already in the rom.Correct. Why is it that exposed is not to be mentioned? Is that a no no thing?

please..... With all due respect, but that is just not true. As you stated, xposed is a hack. And it is quite powerfull. Besides functionality which many roms already have, it can do more than a rom could do. You have modules which hack individual apps to change behavior or to add functionality.Xposed is a framework hack that hack cause 90% of rom issues. 100% of the things Xposed can do is already in the rom.
I agree to some extend. But I would stress ROM ***DEVELOPMENT*** THREAD. As the development thread is supposed to talk about the development of the rom.If, I stress IF, a developer gets a log we can tell if you are using, log spam, Xposed and this is after trying to track down this issue that this user is having then to find out it is cause by a third party hack. Yeah we get ticked if xposed is mentioned in a ***ROM*** DEVELOPMENT THREAD I stress the ROM part because any third party app/kernel/hack is not support and neither is the OT mention and discussion of it.
I don't a see the problem of using xposed on stock Roms, but not on highly customized ROM's like Liquid, BrokenOS, and Temesak.
I get the first argument. And I agree. Questions about xposed should be placed in the xposed forum or (if the question is specific with this rom) to the Q&A thread of this rom. It's not supposed to be mentioned in ROM communities for two main reasons:
1. The ROM development threads are only for ROM development, Xposed is a separate entity and it is like multi ROM in the sense that some developers want nothing to do with it, and therefore don't want to discuss it.
2. As the lead dev of broken os told me, some developers find it personally offensive when users mention Xposed because they are essentially saying that the ROM isn't good enough by itself, and keep in mind that the developers spend hours of their time to make the ROM for free, imagine if you worked really hard on something and gave it away for free and then the users say that it's not good enough so they tear it apart and rebuild it their own way.
I agree. But still this is not a problem of xposed by itself. It is a problem of people complaining to the wrong person with a wrong attitude. There is another issue with Xposed, you see Xposed makes a ton changes to the ROM's framework which can lead to bugs and instability, so it bugs developers when people complain about bugs that were caused by Xposed.
Xposed is a FRAMEWORK hack meaning it does matter what you use it for the damage is done once it is installed.please..... With all due respect, but that is just not true. As you stated, xposed is a hack. And it is quite powerfull. Besides functionality which many roms already have, it can do more than a rom could do. You have modules which hack individual apps to change behavior or to add functionality.
For example:
If you want to use google voice recognition in the swype keyboard -> there is a module for that
As we all are probably rooted, several apps do not work (even with rootcloak, especially banking apps). -> But there is a module for that
Youtube ads are just too long and too anoying? (I know ads are a sensitive subject for developers, but still it supports my point) -> there is a module for that
You use greenify or amplify? -> they have extended functionality if you use xposed
You want to have a better privacy and rights management than most roms have -> there is an xposed module for that
Maybe the rom you use is almost perfect. But you just want this one feature. -> there is probably an xposed module for that
And the list goes on. I've did not come across a rom which can do those things.
I agree to some extend. But I would stress ROM ***DEVELOPMENT*** THREAD. As the development thread is supposed to talk about the development of the rom.
Even if the rom has everything I want from a rom, there still are some reasons to use xposed (e.g. hacking an individual app). Xposed is not all about those high functional big modules like gravity box. And not all questions about xposed are bug reports caused by xposed.
I get the first argument. And I agree. Questions about xposed should be placed in the xposed forum or (if the question is specific with this rom) to the Q&A thread of this rom.
As for the second argument, I don't think that a developer should be threatened or insulted by someone using xposed. As I stated above there are reasons to use xposed even on a highly customized rom.
I agree. But still this is not a problem of xposed by itself. It is a problem of people complaining to the wrong person with a wrong attitude.
My point is:
I know developers get a ton of stupid questions about bugs for stuff which is not their fault and they cannot fix. Like bugs caused from using a custom kernel or caused by xposed. Or even bugs from individual apps which suddently do crash.
I get that people get annoyed from those stupid questions or silly complaints, but if you be honest you may see that it has nothing to do with the kernel, xposed or the app itself. Therefore, banning the word xposed from a discussion seems not right either.
I think the context and the content of the question matters. And just because I wrote xposed somewhere in it does not necessarily disqualifies the question or makes it wrong to ask.
And let us not forget that no complaint or bug report was posted here to kickstart this conversation. He just asked the question: "does xposed run on this rom". I think this is not inappropriate in general. And it does not necessarily mean: "I think your work sucks". It just means: "I would like to use xposed on this rom for whatever reason". I do agree that the question @dapat asked is placed in the wrong thread. I certainly would place it in the Q&A thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014/help/qa-liquidsmooth-t3074396
As @Orion116 put it: Just food for thought.
PS: Sorry for continuing this off topic discussion.
Did you do a full wipe beforehand? A full wipe is where you wipe: cache, dalvik cache, data, and system. Can someone help me?
I try to install this rom on my note sm-p600 with android 4.4
and this error is presented:

I would upgrade to 3.9 first. Wipe cache, data, davilc cache, and system when flashing 3.9. I probably messed up the date for the ota, lol, that is my fault. Second, most of what you installed is in the ROM?. For root apps I use Titanium Back Up and some times greenify. As a noob user I would limit the number of root apps I have installed.Gents, lemme start with full noob disclosure and admission of ignorance and/or stupidity. Doesn't work with my wife, but hey, worth a shot for some help and understanding..lol
Contrary to what she might say though, i can follow instructions, but i do tend to bravely press random possibly disastrous buttons with no regard...
Anyway, I have been miraculously successful in rooting a few diff devices in the past, and thrilled that I got my p600 rooted as well. Also thrilled to have been lucky enuf to, after a few tries, successfully get the Broken OS official 3.8 with most recent broken gapps working on this thing...
I've read that some of the best things to install once rooted (and I did install em after I got broken on it) include greenify, busybox, titanium, sdmaid, etc.., but gotta admit I have no effin idea about much of how, why or what some of these things do.
With all that said, here's the qtn/issue:
I'm experiencing unwanted reboots. It seems to happen most often when using the pen to tap on something, and if it doesn't respond and I tap again quickly, it restarts. Now I dunno if its because of any of the apps i mentioned...did I freeze or greenify something I shouldn't have, is the box I installed too busy, or what? Either way, I'd obviously like to "fix it" while keeping it BROKEN bc I really do love this ROM (and I don't even know what that stands for!)
Qtn 2 is I see an official 3.9 download available at the androidfilehost site, but my update settings say I am current at 3.8. So, should I download 3.9 and flash? And if so...yikes..how?
Thanks in advance. And Orion, thanks so much for breaking my tablet![]()
Do the reboots occur within a few minutes after your tablet boots up? I'm asking because my tablet also reboots if I use it right after it boots up.Hey, tx for the reply! The reboots aren't app specific, it can happen on the desktop, app drawer or anywhere really just multiple tapping on anything, but it doesn't happen all the time. I didn't flash any kernel on its own, although I thought flashing 3.8 came with its own broken kernel, so that's what I got. I'll go with 3.9 and let ya know if my issues continue or not. Tx again!
Logs will help. Google adb logcat then grab a log. Also broken does have its own kernel, but I am working with the creator of valex kernel for a future version for brokenHey, tx for the reply! Facelock, hangouts, phasebeam, and browser are fine to uninstall. The others are important and will cause issues if uninstalled. I am not sure if the telecom stuff will cause issues if uninstalled make a back up and try it. Install chrome from the play store.updated to 3.9 and. altho I had a few random reboots (once while in su settings, another while tapping around in general settings), it's much much less than before and quite frankly, i luvs it! i'll check on getting a logcat to see if it helps any for the future, but it really is wonderfully qik and customizable.. tx so much for your time on it!
in the meanwhile tho, since i do like to be as minimilast as possible, i'd like to further tweak it by removing some of the system apps i know i will not use. is it ok to remove facelock, google calendarsyncadapter, google feedback, hangouts, layers, live wallpaper picker & phasebeam..oh, and the browser, since id like to install chrome? Similarly, since this dont have a phone, does it need the tele stuff..like telecom, telephony provider, mms service?
Yes, in Marshmallowdo you have future plans to include multiwindow?
