Ok, thanks for that.

Such a shame... From whatever little I could use it, it definitely was the fastest and smoothest ROM I've tried on that phone.

Being a 5008 owner/user is a nightmare. The stock rom is an unusable google-less chinese piece of cr#p, and not being a common model, devs have trouble getting roms to work on it... We can't even upgrade to MM.

I'm essentially surviving on the old Temasek CM12.1 rom, which itself is a port from the A3 and generic enough that it kind of works on mine, though with many bugs.
Nick Verse did not finish updating his CM12 version for the 5008 before moving onto CM13, and that seems stalled as well.

It's a shame, the phone specs are quite good. But even as a perfectly working phone, it's essentially a brick to me...

Most music apps don't work.

Media server died, or something along the lines of that.

Sucks you've discontinued development, this is my favourite ROM.

Only Pi Music Player works out of all the ones I've tried..

It's really a great and fast ROM
But j5008 still has some problems.
Such as no sound in calling and APP_SWITCH button cant be used
But i converted j500f rom to set_metdata and flash it into j5008.Luckily,it can not only boot,but sound in calling is no problem！Then i edited /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl added "key 254 APP_SWITCH"
Then the APP_SWITCH button is ok

You said about set_metdata, but didnt you remove the assert lines only?

Assert line:

All I wanted was Blackplayer Ex to work, but Hentake doesn't feel like updating 5.1.1 anymore.

@#Henkate as I remember is taking some rest from developing but I'm not sure... Also he's developing AOSP Rom but again I'm not sure.

I wanna update RR 5.1.1, but i dont know when ill do it... Also people are quite interested in latest android version nowdays...

I was quite busy and i also took a break, but tomorrow ill try to build AOSP 6.0.1.

I may keep you updated regarding AOSP by editing this post.

Why don't rather build RR from the cm13 new rom port
As my experience it's the most stable avaible rom contain good camera with a really great kernel and many optimization ?
I assure u It'll make the new best rom for j5

I am using Black player and disabled inbuilt music app. This app is the best app I found for me..
