Hello, this is my first time getting a custom ROM, and I decided to get LiquidSmooth as my very first custom ROM :D

I just wanted to address some issues as this ROM is still in beta.
1) How is this ROM for daily driver? Do reboots happen often?
2)How is the battery life compared to the stock rom?
3)Are there any bugs? (i.e. camera, wifi, call/texting, bluetooth, video playback issues like youtube/netflix/videos on the web, etc)
4)Can I flash this ROM if I currently have 4.4.2 (stock) in my sprint s3? (Last time I flashed a stock rom, it got bricked because I flashed 4.3 on my 4.4.2)
Thank you in advance!
ROM's all good. No bugs that I know of. I don't think this is really beta anymore, its pretty solid. Flashes just fine from 4.4.2. The only way you would have bricked flashing that 4.3 rom is if you used odin for the whole .tar/firmware of 4.3 or tried flashing the modem or bootloader.

I did try to flash 4.3 on Odin with .tar file. I think it bricked because I heard 4.4.2 has a locked bootloader now and so you can't go back to previous versions..? It's not the case for this rom I suppose.

1)Will a Nandroid backup ALWAYS help me from a brick? I'm kind of scared to flash this rom bc I don't want to brick my phone! :/
2)Can I flash if I have nd8 bootloader? I dont want to brick my phone again
3)Can I flash this with the stock kernel? Thanks

Yes you can flash away. The reason you bricked is not a locked bootloader. It's because 4.4.2 has Knox in it, so you can't odin flash "pre Knox firmware". The .tar files (complete firmware) contains the bootloader and modem, and once you update to nd8 you cannot go back with older modems or bootloader. Rom zips do not contain modems or bootloaders, so you can flash any rom zip built for d2spr without fearing a brick. Just don't try to odin flash any .tar older than nd8 and you will be fine. This rom runs great. You can flash on nd8, in fact you should be updated to at least nd8 to flash. Your current kernel doesn't matter because roms come with their own kernel. So flash away, this rom runs great.

Wow thanks, I'll try flashing it once I get my phone back next week.

Does flashing a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP pose any risks of bricking my device, assuming I get the latest, correct carrier version for my phone?

Last time I bricked my phone using 4.3 .tar file, I was able to successfully unbrick it by flashing a PIT file.
What does flashing a PIT file do exactly? Just curious.

Recoveries should be fine. Just follow directions from somewhere, but you'll flash it in odin. I would go with Philz over the rest, but it is up to you.

PIT file tells the phone the proper partition sizes for certain 'sectors.' Like the Modem file is given X amount of space. The Kernel is given X amount of space.

If you flash a tar file for a Sprint phone, make sure it is the latest tar. I think on Sprint it is NJ2. www.sammobile.com usually has the latest or check on here if you use VM or Boost.

Can I install TWRP by using TWRP manager(The app)? I heard TWRP manager can brick your phone if your phone has locked bootloader. I'm not sure if my bootloader is locked, how to check? I think all sprint galaxy s3's have unlocked bootloaders. Is this true?
Or should I just use odin? My phone is already rooted btw
Thanks in advance.

IMHO I have tried both and prefer Philz over TWRP. Many more options. Menu in Philz is easier to navigate. Best of luck on which ever you choose. :D

No your bootloader is not locked. If your already rooted just use flashify to install it. Philz is no longer updated so I use twrp. More stable and modern. More suited to flashing lollipop roms.

My bootloader is actually nj2. And you said not to flash my phone with .tar older than nd8..... But I need to flash .tar file for TWRP. How do I make sure the TWRP .tar file is nj2,nd8,mk3,etc?

Thanks.

Twrp is just a recovery. It doesn't contain anything else. The older tars I was talking about are full firmware packages. It has nothing to do with twrp. You can flash any twrp version you want ( as long as its for this phone of course). But if you're already rooted just get the .img file of twrp instead of the .tar and use flashify. But if you need twrp to root, then get the .tar of course. Use the newest version for d2spr that's on their site.

Yeah. That's one of the questions that'll get you on the sh*t list quick. It's a mistake you only want to make once. Trust me, I learned the hard way back when I was a new member. You got off easy compared to the @SS chewing I got lol.

I'm looking forward to an update too. We just have to sit back and be patient. There's no telling what all the Dev has going on right now. I'm sure he's been busy. ;)

It's hard to find someone who understands and doesn't chew you up. I now know better. But still as excited as before.

White..?

I thought the settings were in black, but mine is white..

Also, i'm missing a lot of customizations like active display and total blackout etc etc... why is this? and
Why can't i access the recently opened app by holding down the home button? Thank you.
I flashed liquid version: LS-LP-v4.1-2015-05-15

EDIT:
Could these be bugs?
I disabled "Volume rockers to wake device" and volume rockers still wake my device...
Also I enabled "Volume rockers hold down to seek music track" and this doesn't work.
