I am looking for updating my N7000 to the last ROM it will ever have (it will sto p being used at all).
I don't plan for this to be 5.5.9, I'll wait for a newer version.
The problem is this: My power button stopped functioning (or is locked pressed, I am not sure). Luckily phone turns on when I remove batter and reinstall it (this is why I think it is stuck pressed).
But I cannot press to switch it off, or reboot in recovery mode or whatever.
The question is this: Can I do this with software? Can I switch to recovery AND use it to install new ROM without the power button working?
The same problem is with me. For screen lock i use the icon given in notification panel(u have add that tile) and secondly if u want to go to the recovery u can use power menu tile same as above and if u have choose advance reboot option in the setting then

OWER TILE>REBOOT>RECOVERY. For the best result i can say to install new rom as i do is:
1. Reboot into recovery(from above method)
2. Clean all the data for installing new rom
3. Install
raw_kernel_r9_cm12 ( cuz it have touch recover works for me well for the problem of power button. If your Philz recovery works fine then dont go for this step.)
4. Reboot recovery from the current to go in RAW recovery .
5. Install ROM and GAPPS and reboot from here.
6.Done!
