Those are REALLY old
tk_gapps-modular-pico-5.1.1-20150809-signed.zip?

n/m I'm a dumbass, you obviously meant the 4 month old minimal gapps package. not the one with today's date on it.

(for the record, i tried the "tk_gapps-modular-pico-5.1.1-20150717-signed" sitting on my sd card from my last install too, same result)

Those are REALLY old
So, is that my cause of random reboots and such, or does Lollipop just hate my S959G?
because I use those Gapps in CyanideL 11.6 RC to 17.6 RC, OmniROM 5.1.1 HOMEMADE, SlimLP beta 0.2 and all current Cyanogenmod 12.1 roms and they all random rebooted to optimize all apps then attempted to scan my sd card and then random reboot to a BLOD (Bootloop of death or get stuck on a bootloop until I power off the phone hard by power button)

here is my last logcat from version 16.0 RC
Logcat for CyanideL 16.0 RC

you know, I haven't tried this build yet on my S959G. just my i777.
It worked all lollipop roms worked well before the PIT mod i did to my phone, but i don't regret doing the modded partition flash, more app and system space just rules. :p

But SlimLP, CM 12.1, CyanideL and OmniROM just give me a hard time, I am on RR Kit Kat 5.1.5 right now, looking to come back to his rom or CM 12.1 if the random reboot thing stops.

i thought about the pit mod once, but I haven't pulled the trigger just yet. and honestly, the random reboot thing kinda just went away for me a few flashes back.

I don't mean to go a little off-topic but is this new to the 17.5 RC version of CyanideL?
Before, you saw the apps retoring back one by one, name and progress with percentage and overall progress bar
Now it's this
"Restoring applications, Restored 71 out of 106 applications"
I never seen this until the newest version of this ROM, but I'm leaning towards its new to this rom or it's a new feature in the play store or TK Gapps play store.

Is it just me? Is the GAPPS package I selected (tk_gapps-modular-pico-5.1.1-20150809-signed.zip) working for anybody else? I've tried a FULL wipe every time I've attempted it. It keeps telling me "Insufficient storage space available in System partition." I thought about removing calendarsync, but that still wouldn't be enough according to the log it made.

Here's that log again

It says "Additional Space Required (KB) | 11892" plain as day, Just not sure what to do at this point.

<edit> Just tried the same thing with CyanidleL 16.0. It works just fine. It only tells me I need more space with the current build. I installed 17.5 over the top of it and am currently restoring apps. (Now I see what cidlover was asking about, I have the same notification. It used to display one for each app w/ an icon. now there's just the one "restoring applications" notification with a progress bar beneath it showing how many have been completed)

I guess I'll have to wait for the next build to perform a clean install?

That's what I did, I did a complete wipe, and since I used the pit mod in my phone, the gapps I used is tk_gapps-modular-mini with 5.1.1 xposed framework installer by romracer and an updated SuperSU zip. I was going to use stock gapps for my flash but it needed more space besides what I have now left over from TK's mini Gapps package which is a system partition of 212 MB free. Not bad still.

have you seen any downside to the modded pit? I've been thinking about trying it on my sg959 before committing to it.

Other than it takes a little from the internal SD card and gives it to /system, /data and I think /cache. No, I haven't seen any downside other than a smaller internal SD card.

did you use the information from this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2-att/general/guide-partition-i777-phone-data-storage-t2839161

I've visited this one a few times as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887864
as well as these http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711426, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/orig-development/guide-enlarge-datafs-partition-rid-t2353551

At the end of the day I think i know how to do what I want to do, but I'm also starting to lean toward the possibility that I may have read TOO MUCH and confused myself in the process somewhere along the way.
I'm sure I'll do it eventually...

I used the S959G pit mod because the I777 pit made my phone get stuck on the CM12.1 boot screen, the ROM I installed after I did it so I flashed the S959G pit and it booted. But if you do it, it removes the modem for some reason which you can reflash in CWM/TWRP to get back easily.

Also, extra step that they don't tell you is, there is a chance that the internal SD card won't format after the mod is done, just reformat the internal SD card in Twrp or CWM and your golden. I used TWRP top do so.

Let me link you, one sec
