Hi everyone, I had some serious issues updating the ROM-- the vendor image said it was outdated, blah blah blah. Read every forum page but couldn't find any solution anywhere. I extracted the vendor img myself from Google's factory image and that worked great using TWRP.

Glad you figured it out. Post #1472 (and others) actually has the answer you were looking for. Less than two and a half pages back.

Does OTG support have to do with ROM or Kernel? Everytime I transfer something from internal space to my OTG micro SD card, and the memory card becomes corrupt and I have to reformat. It works on my PC.

For me, Win 7 needs to "check for errors" after using on the 5X. It passes the checks (no format needed). My solution is to power off the phone then I remove the OTG stick.

no ticker was completely gutted from marshmallow, in lollipop it was still there just turned off.

So, it would be impossible to re enable it? Only one Marsmellow rom has ticker.... VRXToxin, but looks like they dont share their code...

Um, is anyone having their cellular data turn on by itself? The Switch doesn't look on, but "LTE" is next to the signal bars and the amount of data used increases. Switching data on and off doesn't help. Non ctme clean flash

unrelated security question, for anyone that might know. i was thinking about security today, because my phone has no encryption (both system and userdata).

However, with purenexus rom if your phone is ON and it's stolen, you can essentially prevent someone from booting into recovery since the normal power menu is not available (via purenexus settings) and pressing and holding the power button for 10 secs just reboots the phone into OS again which is still locked. Also, the USB defaults to charging, so data is inaccessible, and I've disabled the quick pulldown from the lock screen as well so data/wifi/airplanemode cannot be toggled.

is there a way for a would-be thief to boot into recovery in a situation such as this to access your data and/or format the phone?

Wouldn't they be able to hold down power and volume down to boot into recovery from fastboot?

I am pretty sure you can hold down the volume down and power button from anywhere to boot into the bootloader then go into recovery from there. Not near my phone right now so I can't test but I am pretty sure that is how it works.

Ah, you're right, you definitely can. It takes a screenshot first, screen times out, then after about 10 seconds it goes into the bootloader.

That's the only way so far! Let's hope if my phone gets stolen, the thief is not tech savvy

The first time Ehen you set up your display secutity you geht ask if you need to enter your pin, password or pattern (whatever you have choosen) to boot the phone. Select yes, and you have to enter it in recovery too.

Don't know, look at security, display lock settings , I use pin security. With my encrypted device you can Boot into recovery but can't access data partition without password/pin.
