To God be the glory, my AOKP project finally works!

This is not a dirty unicorn. This is the original unicorn, the AOKP. Now made out of a marshmallow! That's right, all of the AOKP stuff you love, plus CyanogenMod's theme engine, plus Paranoid Android's Pie, and more! All wrapped up into one! With tons of settings from status bar tweaks to home button remaps, it's all here and ready to rumble!

**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****

THE AKLU KERNEL DOES NOT WORK ON THE 6.0.1 BOOTLOADER YET!

Notes.

Here are some notes about the rom that I thought might help:

Random Reboot issues with custom kernels?

If you are having random reboot issues with the new kernel, you can adjust the settings as follows:
CPU max freq. 2496 MHz
GPU max freq. 500 MHz
CPU governor interactive
GPU governor msm-adreno-tz
I/O scheduler CFQ

That should solve your issue with the custom kernel. If you want, you may also flash this baseline kernel:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/h9b68aaon1yvr11/aokp_pac-mm-kernel-baseline.zip
This baseline kernel will always work just fine, however the battery life and performance are not as good as the AKLU kernel.

If the screen looks red-ish, check the settings->display->live display options, you may want to turn them off, it is a low light sensitive display option.

Airplane mode - While switching between WiFi and regular data, on rare occasions, the phone will get stuck where you have data or WiFi with the ! mark and no connectivity. If this happens, you don't have to reboot, just hit airplane mode, give it a second, then hit it again to get everything working again.

T-Mobile users with device model = unknown:

If you are using a N915T (like myself), then after you flash the datazip file, you will notice that your phone reports itself as "unknown" to apps like XDA, TapTalk, About Phone, etc.
The fix is very easy!
-Open /system/build.prop in any text editor
-Anywhere in the file, add this line:
Code:
ro.build.model=SM-N915T
Save and exit, then reboot your phone. You can check "about phone" under settings, you should see yourself as SM-N915T, and apps like XDA should report you as Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

Setting selinux to permissive:
See @oscarmaldonado post here for one of the many ways to do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69235667&postcount=17

Apps:

Side App Bar - This has a semi useful side "edge" bar feel.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=infamous.apps.appsbarfree

Swiftkey Keyboard - This keyboard can be set so the keyboard does not wrap around the screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey

Spen Command - This app cost a few dollars, but enables the Spen to be somewhat smart again, rather than just a pointer stick.
http://www.emandt.net/Android/SPenCommand/Website/

If you find something else that will help other users, please let me know by posting in the thread!

Thanks, by God's grace it is working pretty well! Hopefully we can add our own version of the edge in the coming weeks, but we will see.

As for the prepaid minutes, there is an app on the plastered called T-mobile refill, or something like that, I think that is what you need.

You absolutely must be on 5.1.1 for this to work. I have tried flashing from 6.0.1, but then the camera will not work, among other issues. I can point you in the right direction, but I need to know which phone model you have, t, g, f, fy? Let me know and I can shoot you a link.

Thank you for the kind words.

Recents Button isn't work
the first version of AOKP is working on N915g
thank you so much!

You are right! I will look into it this, probably next week.

Awesome! Glad the datafix helped out in the end, though I can hardly take credit for stumbling across someone elses work. Going to flash this as soon as I get the chance. Hopefully we finally have a stable MM AOSP for the Edge series. Nice work everyone!

Either way, it was your post that brought it to my attention, so thanks!

You need to have 5.1.1 bootloader/modem, you can always downgrade if you have 6.0.1.

[/COLOR @AlaskaLinuxUser, with all due respect, why don't you surprise the T-Mobile family (TMOBILE note Edge forum) with this rom? It's running solid, no issues whatsoever, after so long finally a non TW ROM.

Great question, my understanding is that a rom for multiple models of a phone go under Android Development. This rom can be used on both tbltexx and tbltetmo, so I posted it here. If I made a post in t-mobile development, it would only mirror this thread. I was hoping that other t-mobile users, like yourself, also check this forum. Otherwise I will need to maintain multiple threads of the same rom. Am I correct in my understanding? Is there a better way to tell the t-mobile users that this is available?

Hello my friend, I've been trying to find bootloader/modem but no luck, the only thing I found was stock rom 5.1.1, you can't go wrong by ODIN back to stock. Good luck my friend.

https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N915F/page/11

Thanks a lot mate :)

I don't mind flashing the stock 5.1.1 firmware on my 915f. But are you sure downgrading from MM to LP won't harm my device in anyway. Had read a few articles on how downgrade bricks device. Not an expert so forgive me. I prefer to clear all my doubts other than doing something stupid on my own

I am currently on noble rom 6.0.1 can I directly flash River rom 5.1.1 through TWRP. Would that work?

    Code:
    ro.build.model=SM-N915T

    New build is up!

Praise God, a new build is up!

So, the OP has been updated with a new build. Not too many fixes yet, but you *should* be able to dirty flash this. I have tested the build, but as a clean flash, since I was jumping back and forth between other roms.

    Change Log:
    20161024:
    -Built with Java 8.
-Added Kernel Adiutor and SELINUX plugin.
-Set kernel to SELINUX permissive by default. (You can use the SELINUX plugin to switch to enforce, if desired.)

Still working on the recent button. This change did not fix it, but hopefully we can get that resolved soon, as well as a few other things.

The newly rebuilt kernel is up in the kernel thread if you have not seen it yet. I need gamers to test for reboots if anyone has time. I will add back in more features after positive non-random-rebooting reports.
