Q: Can you add (insert feature here) from (insert other ROM here) so it can be more like (insert other ROM here)?
A: If they have their source posted, then probably. If I feel it's needed or beneficial to performance then I'll consider it. One thing to remember is that I build this to suit my needs first, and it's release to the public for those who want to use it, but take it as it is. If you want Screw'd to be more like (insert other ROM here) then maybe you should use (insert other ROM here). Screw'd is.................different.

Q: How can I build this myself for another device that I own?
A: Screw'd is completely open-sourced. If you want to build for another device then you can start at my Github manifest page. Remember, it'll be up to you to make the source work with your device, and any device related support from me will be somewhat limited. If you want to be an official device maintainer then let me know.

More as they come......

Dsmitty, just was reading thru the op again. I see layers is installed. This doesn't include cm's theme engine as well , does it. Just curious as you linked darkions theme maker

It does not force encryption.

That is old, it is only layers. No cmte. Good catch.

Nice seeing you release something for the 6P, I know it's going to be worth going through the ball break of flashing. Multi-ROM support, do you know something we don't?

Really liking the sound of this ROM! Quick question, can I flash another kernel after flashing the ROM? I'm really wanting to try Fechda-kernel and since this ROM is SELinux permissive and so is that particular kernel, this would be the perfect switch for me if they play nice together. I'm running the latest Chroma and ElementalX with SELinux enforcing, after a wipe/data reset will it be possible to flash these 2 together? Many thanks! :)

Nah, that was just from a copy-paste from the other devices :)

Should be fine. Give the included kernel a chance, it's really good actually.

I cannot say for sure that he's doing a kernel. I will not upload it separately, since he's not released anything yet.
This looks amazing, but you know...I'm not so sure you or this rom can be trusted.

I mean, you might have included software that makes it easier for the NSA to spy on us, or perhaps a direct link to the SETI sensor array.

In fact, I bet flashing this soi-disant rom is akin to breaking the Oslo Accords.

Could be true.

Rom specs look awesome....thank you for your work.

I tend to use the custom kernels not for performance but for the ability to adjust right speaker independently which I don't think viper4android can do and to adjust color temperature of the display.

Does their ROM have or will it ever have pie? I have yet to see a 6p ROM have it. Lmt pie is okay but has limitations since its not a system application.

Also do you recommend a particular gapps package?

Alright guys the time has come. Here is the cmte release.

    A few things to note.

Day/night mode dark will make settings white on stock theme, this feature will be removed next build for simplicity with themes.

You will need to flash the MMB29P vendor image to get rid of the vendor warning on boot. Currently this is only available via fast boot.

This will require a clean flash from previous builds. Make sure you remove all layers or you will have issues.

    The short change log:
no more layers now cmte. All previous features are present
    Latest ak 25 built in

Download here and on render server.

    Did I mention clean flash?

    All. https://plus.google.com/100336007489410557314/posts/h9S99RmJ4B1

I encourage you to check out the builds when they come out. You won't be disappointed.

Layers support removed, CM Theme Engine merged into main branches.

I already know this isn't going to sit well with people, but frankly I don't care. This is just a heads up so you know Layers themes won't work anymore.

Me and the team has had long debates about this, and I've come to the decision to use CMTE. There were many factors that influenced this change, I won't state them all here, but the main factor is while Layers development is popular and on the rise, it isn't all there yet. I did give it a fair shot, and while some parts won me over, there were too many things that I missed in CMTE.

Let me make this clear, I'm not putting down Layers development/developers in any way. This is a very good project and my hat goes off to them. This decision did not come easy, since we've had a chance to try both sides. I just find that it comes together a bit better with CMTE. Sure, it can be a pain in the ass to implement and maintain with some features compared to Layers, but its worth it.

With that being said, I don't want anyone bashing my team about this change. It was my decision, so IF you gotta talk sh*t about someone, direct it at me.*

The team has been testing Screw'd w/ CMTE since Thursday, and it seems stable. I got a few small things to clear up with it, but I'll give the green light to post EXPERIMENTAL builds soon so y'all can test.
