CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Instructions to install ROM:

1. Flash the last CM13 from here: LINK
2. Flash GAPPS from OpenGAPPS (Pico version preffered)
3. Flash SuperSU from here: LINK
4. Done
5. Reboot​

For the moment only permissive kernel and interactive governor are the features. In rest is CM13. I will add more features in next builds.
You can change it with Kernel Adiutor. I need some tests of Interactive governor because on my device lags and drains battery very fast and I need reviews.

Interactive is not a good governor on our phone. Never worked well on dori kernel, and I don't recommend other devs (for our phone) to include it mainly because of various issues.

Yes, it is only changing SELinux to permissive, but at least, with this kernel you can install SuperSU. In next versions I will remove CM bloatware to have the cleanest ROM possible. In rest it haves the default governors from CyanogenMod. I will add some new governors and remove anothers in next builds. Thanks and hope it will be a good starting for me. I'm a newbie in programming :silly: :victory:

I won't give an ETA but I'm waiting for CM14 so I can get working on the kernel again

Right now I still have lots of studying to do at university so I'm afraid my free time is limited.

I still don't think it is worth the time to fix a broken governor that has not been designed for our SOC. Linux kernel on CM is old and various parts of kernel needs to be updated (possibly the timer code, etc) just to get it stable (modifications to governor itself is also required).

I will definitely not buy a nexus phone but I would be interested which phone lysergic acid has now ...I guess his new phone will get the longest cm support one can imagine ...
