Trying to figure out why Gapps always fails. I install the ROM using TWRP. I get the latest open Gapps. I install both, everything reboots and then when it gets to the setup screen about 2 steps in it says 'Unfortunately Google Apps have failed" and it restarts. Everything single time. No matter what I wipe or format it just will not work. Am I missing something here?

I dont think so u r missing anything. Have u faced the same issue with any other rom? Or may b try slim gapps.

This ROM install AOSP recovery.
I by mistake selected stock opengapps package and now I cant flash TWRP to restore.
Now I'm stuck with Welcome screen on the phone with google play services crashing.

Developer, please exclude the recovery from your image for such thing to not happen. Now I need to figure it out how to enable OEM unlocking in developer options.

I cannot reflash the zip to remove google stuff. Bunch of errors in recovery about
unknown fs_type "f2fs" for cache
failed to mount /cache

I'm stuck now with unusable phone, cant even flash twrp via fastboot (OEM unlocking not enabled, cannot enable)

Follow this guide to go back to stock, then you can enable OEM unlocking and re-root your device

What does AOSP recovery mean o.o
Stock Recovery ? Or I missed the press release of Google's own recovery ?

    What's AOSP ?

    AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.
    We added few non-AOSP features for a better user experience and we NOT going to add something other.

    What's CodeAurora Forums ?

    Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Software projects it concerns itself with are e.g. Android for MSM, Femto Linux Project, LLVM, MSM WLAN and Linux-MSM. Code Aurora is basically AOSP plus all Qualcomm specific enhancements and optimization.

    -Read Everything Carefully

    -Reboot to System
