I'm on Magisk 20.1. Not hidden. adb is working fine, Bank of America app also working.

Interesting, in that case I may just go with the older magisk you are using and see if that works. I just tried the combo that fritz used and it isnt working either. The Magisk manager (8.0.7) is not even seeing that I installed magisk 21.4 so I think I will scrap it and flash back to the original Modest rom 11 and then simply see if I can update magisk from there. Do you know by chance if your current setup is passing safety net?

Also, were you able to get the T-Mobile VoLTE working?

Haven't dealt with SafetyNet because so far, everything I use works. I'm on Magisk Manager 7.4.0. I'm using a lot of older stuff on this phone. It was touchy to get everything working, but it has been very stable, hence my desire to make this ROM work on TMO, rather than try to start from scratch with an SM-N910T, which I may have to do. I was able to get VoLTE (I think) on a test phone w/ MODest11 by replacing the contents of the the CSC folder from a TMO ROM, but it breaks other stuff, ie Settings menus, etc. Also the status bar has small odd icons, data says 4G, but no LTE text. In any case, the 4G stays lit when I make a call, whereas my daily driver w/ a TMO SIM drops back to 2G (i.e. the 4G/LTE icon disappears during a call. I'd like to verify on the test phone w/ LTE Discovery, but it locks up completely. Odd.

That is good, maybe I will not need it either, I suppose I could just test the apps that I need, with the main one I am needing being Google Pay (I hate using anything google but now that Paypal could charge you thousands of dollars if they happen to not like your speech, I had to make a quick shift for now). Hmm, that is weird that it would break other things when I believe that it would just change the device information. Keep me posted on your progress as I would be interested to know if your able to get it straightened out as I have 4 of these phones and they (as you noted) are absolutely irreplaceable, and sadly it seems that there is no phones even in the chute that are even close to comparable. I still keep hoping that Ripee figures out some way to make VoLTE or VoIP work with some new (maybe upcoming) version of Lineage, so that my note 4's can absolutely live on forever! And since the Chinese seem to keep producing the main boards and battery's and LCD screens, this might actually be possible!

Thanks Forest, I am trying to get one of my spare SM-N910V's Set up with the Modest Rom (v11) you recommended but am having a terrible time trying to have a working hidden Magisk (non of the new ones seem to work), so I thought I would give Fritz's method he describes a page or two ago a try. Now that I have the Flashpoint v5 file I am going to give it a go! Are you currently running this ROM with Hidden Majisk Root (where both Adb And Banking apps work)?

I am running Magisk 21.4 with 8.0.7 Magisk Manager. I have never tried to have it hidden and just use Magisk Hide. Nowadays there are so many ways app developers check for modifications, I just gave up on the banking apps that don't work. It might be for the best given the age of this ROM and phone! Regarding Adb, you need to start by using TWRP to flash a fresh boot.img file extracted from N910VVRU2CTI1. You don't reboot until you have also flashed Magisk v21.4 and finally Flashpoint v5.

Did you try the steps below from my last posting about this:

"I decided to flash back to Magisk v21.4 with Magisk Manager v8.0.7.
From TWRP, I flashed the boot.img file from the newer "N910VVRU2CTI1" set of files to the boot partition, then flashed Magisk v21.4, then Flashpoint v5, and then booted up.

I noticed some errors when checking SafetyNet with the app "SafetyNet Check", so I went back to TWRP and wiped Cache and Dalvik Cache, then booted up. SafetyNet looks good now, and ADB is working with the "Revoke" option present under the Developer menu."

I just noticed that the Google Wallet app that provides the Google Pay NFC tap-to-pay function will require Android 7+ after February 27, 2023. We need a ROM using Android 7 for the Note 4, but it seems that many of them had issues.

O Dang, I did not notice that, that is a huge bummer! That's the only way I can purchase an herb I use for pain. Its nothing illegal or anything, it is just something that credit card processors dont like dealing with (like CBD used to be). Man, you are so right, I wish we could somehow figure out a more modern android version that would work without issues. I actually tried that resurrection remix Rom (I believe it was a note 7 Port) and sadly it had many of the same issues that Lineage has (unstable bluetooth, randow wifi disconnects, & shutdowns etc). Honestly, I like these note 4's so much that I wish I had the time to just sit down and unpack its native (stock) OS and figure out a way to disassemble each note 4 features thread and re-pack it into for example the Note 20's Stock Android 13 Rom. I know this would be very hard to do though since you are trying to move the different features from a 32bit system to a 64bit OS. I Presume that it would take a much larger team of people (much smarter than I too) a substantial number of man hours to do this so it would probably never happen. But I am somewhat excited about where AI / Machine learning could take us in the future because I think within the next decade we should have computers that can actually build an operating system for any hardware you tell it you want programmed and it will work out all the bugs just using calculations. I cant remember where I saw the article but this is actually something not a lot of people are talking about, but people think that the tech industry will be shielded from Job losses etc when it is likely to be THE MOST affected by AI & Machine learning once it reaches a certain level where all menial programming can be done by computers.
