My stock firmware has only 5 languages (there is no French) I do not know if it is only with my phone or all the stock firmwares of note 4 verizon have only 5 languages.
That means I will not have the French language with jasmineROM !?
JasmineROM is just rooted stock. Unless you can download languages, there's no French.

Question about OTA updates and problems updating

Hi everyone. I am having a lot of trouble trying to update this Jasmine 7.0 from Jasmine 6.0. I searched all I could. I followed all the instructions to flash to Jasmine 6.0 from stock flash 5.1.1. Everything is great. On my first few boots I noticed that the Android system was running the software update. I read somewhere that Jasmine ROMS do not update OTA, correct? So I instantly downloaded Titanium Backup along with the PRO key. I froze the update. Now I find out about Jasmine 7.0 ROM and do all the instructions to upgrade. In TWRP I keep getting the Extractar Fork 255 error. So it becomes a pain to have to restore my phone back to Jasmine 6.0 Can anyone help me?

Update: I defrosted both the SDM files in Titanium backup. Rebooted phone twice to make sure the Software updates hit. They do and luckily they do not engage and does not update. So my system is not hurt. So I go back to upgrading to Jasmine 7.0 with the TWRP backup method. It got to 95% and croaked. I pulled the recovery log and here is the last few lines.

Hi All,

Just wanted to share some thoughts. I am on an original Note 4 Developer Edition. This been phone has been a beast from day 1 and I feel it isn't showing any signs of slowing down soon. Like everyone else, I want the most perfectly stable and functional device possible. After trying many various roms, my conclusion is that Jasmine Rom 3.1 is the most stable and functional stock-ish rom available. Everything works: Brightness slider, Wifi, GPS Lock super fast, fast boot up, wifi tethering. I really feel this is the rom to ride out the Note 4 until it is time to upgrade to new hardware, if you don't need any special features from other roms available.

I will say this, the new Cyanogenmod rom is super nice to use, but so many problems and bugs for daily use. Once it is stable as Jasmine 3.1, I'll make the switch because it feels so nice to use, but not suitable yet.

Huge thanks to hsbadr for all you do, Internet Champion of Note 4 no question about it.

edit: And to go back to 3.1, you must first flash BOG5 stock restore, as stated here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=62486298&postcount=355

I got a strange odin error flashing the bog5 restore that I think was just local to me. It said fail at the very end, after flashing the old stock restore, but I just flash TWRP after it and was able to flash 3.0/3.1 no problem, in case anyone sees it too.

---------- Post added at 01:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:10 PM ----------

To be honest this is exactly why I decided to go back to 3.1. No bootloader headache and Wifi works perfectly.

I agree, I've decided Jasmine 3.1 is the way to go for me. I have an opportunity to acquire a DevEd Note 4 that has been updated to cqb2 baseband modem and 3.10.4 zeroblade kernel, with twrp 3.0.2, currently running Nseven ROM. Seller asserts that ROM is free of issues and works very well. Are you (or anyone knowledgeable) able to advise what steps would be involved in getting this unit to run Jasmine 3.1 without issues? Do I need to downgrade modem or bootloader, change kernel, anything that could bork root or cause me to go through the steps to re-unlock the bootloader that would involve painstakingly attempting to gain temp root? I'm hoping it is merely a simple matter of flashing the ROM in this case. tia.

I also have just completed a bootloader unlock on a retail Note 4. As such, it is on PA1, 5.1.1. My preference is to work with this one. The next step I figure is to flash twrp. After that, is it a simple ROM flash for Jasmine 3.0 (to get to 3.1)? Or are there Odin steps to accomplish first to prep for that?

This is an initial release of a close-to-stock Touchwiz ROM based on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPF3). I may not be able to add features or Mods due to the limited time, but I wanted to keep JasmineROM's loyal users updated with a rooted 6.0.1 base + Xposed support and a new MultiSystem kernel, to fix the issues of old bootloaders. N910VVRU2CPF3 Partial Firmware + Patched Kernel (flash via Odin before the 1st boot) is required for this ROM. It includes NON-HLOS, modem, rpm, sbl1, sdi, tz, and a patched stock kernel (You don't need to flash the modem; it's already included!).

Disclaimer:

This is a compressed TWRP backup, not a flashable ZIP !

I'm currently trying to install this ROM via TWRP on my Verizon Note 4 after rooting and it's not showing any partitions to restore in TWRP. I made a backup of the rooted system only 5.1.1. and also copied it to my PC to be safe, which I can restore and has all partitions, but this shows no partitions for me, unless possibly I need to flash the PF3 partial firmware first?

Hello @hsbadr
Can you tell me if I still need to install "N910VVRU2CPF3_PartialFirmware_PatechedKernel.tar.m d5.7z" if I have already upgraded my BL to MM, upgraded my Baseband to CQE1, and using RamKernel RC on my N910V? Thank you in advance.

Still no go upgrade from 6.0 to 7.0 Jasmine

I am still having problems updating. I still get the error extractarfork 255 error. It croaks at 95%. My log file has been posted. I checked MD5, have the latest TWRP installed and stock, untouched updated baseband and kernel. All I am trying to do is go from 6.0 Jasmine to 7.0 Jasmine. The only thing I can really think of is transferring all of my photos from /data in internal and try again. Cheers. @hsbadr

I'm on retail rooted bpa1, Jasmine 4.0. How do I upgrade to 4.3 (getting error 7 when flashing with twrp). Do I need to downgrade to bok3 first?

I tried fixing the error 7 by editing updater-script but when I tried to install that, got error 6.

Should I try to copy the assert through ; from the 4.0 updater-script to the 4.3 updater-script?

    JasmineROM v6.0 Release [Jun 12, 2016]

This is an initial release of a close-to-stock Touchwiz ROM based on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPD1). I may not be able to add features or Mods due to the limited time, but I wanted to keep JasmineROM's loyal users updated with a rooted 6.0.1 base + Xposed support and a new MultiSystem kernel, to fix the issues of old bootloaders. N910VVRU2CPD1 Modem (flash via Odin before the 1st boot) is required for this ROM.

    Disclaimer:
The new N910VVRU2CPD1 bootloader/bootchain and modem are required for this ROM. Older bootloaders may run into issues with WiFi driver. You need to upgrade to the new unlocked bootloader (not released yet!).

Workaround: Flash an older version of the MM kernel!

    ChangeLog:
    • Initial Release based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
    • Rooted (SuperSU v2.74 preinstalled)
    • Xposed Framework v85.1 preinstalled

    • Removed KNOX and related stuff
    • Light debloating (debloat it yourself!)

    JasmineROM v6.0 (MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPD1)

I will most likely update this ROM to Marshmallow 6.0.1 ASAP. The 1st release will be a very stable close-to-stock base. I'm not sure yet if I will be abe to push frequest updates for that base ROM since I will continue improving the AOSP-based builds that will allow us to move on to Android N soon, and future major Android updates later.
