hello @surdu_petru, when building and flashing your latest kernel repo it reboots to recovery, anything recently changed that can cause this?
Is there someone who use it daily? If yes - can you tell me how many screen on time you have in one battery charge?
Well, I installed the ROM, but when the system starts, it asks me a password... except that I don't have any !

Use search and read the OP next time.
I realised that this was due to the encryption enabled by default (why Huawei why). In the end I fixed it by formatting /data and then restoring from my backup of EMUI and when it asks me to setup security I skipped all of it, I then went into settings>security and cleared credentials. Then reboot into TWRP and format /system and then flash Cyanogenmod.

You may try this method.
I replaced TWRP by the one created only for CyanogenMod. Then, I followed your instructions : format data, and also re-flashed CM13 !What did you do? It may be helpful for others users
Battery drain issues
I have been using this ROM for the past few weeks and it has been relatively stable, recently I have had a few hiccups where my phone freezes for a few seconds but that is to be expected, however I can't even get through a day of medium usage, screen on time of around 2 hours, browsing on data and wi-fi as well as a few light games. I'd expect more than 2 hours of screen on time in a day?
Is anyone else having these issues? Any potential solutions?

My average screen on time since installing this ROM has been about 2-3 hours of light usage compared to stock which offers around 4.
I don't use Huawei P9 but it seems that you have made an almost bugless for it, nice job bro!
if anyone was wondering what my earlier issue was, I didnt have default.prop included in the ramdisk. it needs that otherwise it panics.
Fingerprint sensor
Can't set a fingerprint. It gets stuck, won't take the full fingerprint.
When you choose another lock option like pin code it gets stuck to when you want to change it.
Any help?

Solved it, index fingers not working for some reason.
I did the first step with my index finger, then middle finger, and again again. Index finger workes now to unlock and the other lock options don't freeze anymore.
