When I first read the specifications of this ROM, sometimes I did not exactly know what certain features meant. In the end I just decided to write a short summary in “plain human language”, in order to explain every feature. The list got a bit long and it’s not complete as I did not find sometimes how to set the described feature on this ROM or did not know exactly what it is. Please complete No. 2, 3, 4, 27, 32 and 37 if you can.

1. CyanogenMod 13 based
CyanogenMod is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android (Google). CM 13 is based on Android 6.0 "Marshmallow". With added original and third-party code CM 13 offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by mobile device vendors.

2. PIE
Pie refers to a certain type of launcher like this one: http://www.droid-life.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/cm-pie-android.jpg Hardware buttons can be replaced by a Pie to go to the Homescreen or use the “back”-button. I do not use a pie on the Note 2 as I prefer the app circle bar. Someone using the pie please explain how to set it up on BeanStalk (I did not find Pie Control in the settings).

(PIE can also mean “Position Independent Executables”. PIE is a useful security feature, as randomizing the address space makes it significantly more difficult for an attacker to exploit bugs in a program.)

3. Built-in Task Manager switcher
I'm not sure what this feature exactly means. Maybe it’s about the feature which can be configured e.g. in the Fling (see No. 21) settings and shows the last used app after a certain gesture on the navbar. Obviously switching tasks is also possible via running apps (called “recent” feature) after pressing the square button on the navbar or via OmniSwitch or SlimRecent. If you know what this feature exactly means, please clarify.

4. OnTheGo Mode
This mode means that the desktop screen gets transparent and the area in front of your phone is projected on the desktop as background. It should make it safer to use the Phone if you are walking. It's like the transparent screen app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...sparent.screen
Could someone maybe comment where to set it on the BeanStalk ROM?

5. App Circle bar
You can configure it in “Settings/Display&LEDs/App Circle bar”. After touching the right edge of the screen certain apps can be started. In the menu mentioned above it's possible to set which apps should be in the circle bar. You can also change the width of the bar and its position. It's convenient e.g. for apps which are used frequently but are not on your first desktop screen.

6. System UI Tuner
“Settings/Status bar/System UI Tuner” – you can set here which icon should be available on the screen layout, which is available after scrolling down from the status bar two times (icons for wlan, bluetooth, flashlight, etc.). You can also long press on the “Settings” icon in the top right corner besides the user icon – after that available icons can be switched.

7. Quicker system animations
As it says, the handling of tasks and apps (opening, closing, go to background, etc.) is faster and smoother. These animations can be changed under “Settings/Display&LEDs/Animations/System-Animations”.

8. Trimmed down fat and excess bloat
It's about getting rid of parts of android that are not necessary and just clutter up the system. Basically it's (google-)junk, makes the system bigger and slower. Here is an older bloatware list: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/i9505-ultimate-bloatware-remove-list-t3080800
If someone knows a specific list for the Note 2, please mention it in a comment.

9. Option to enable all widgets
Long press on the background, on the screen press “widgets” - these widgets like clock, music, switch, etc. can be simply pulled to the desktop screen. I'm not sure how to enable all widgets (except pulling them one by one on the screen). Maybe someone can comment on this.

10. Numerous extra lock screen options
It's in “Settings/Lock screen/Display lock”. E.g. you can set a wipe gesture, PIN or password to unlock the screen. It’s also possible to lock the screen e.g. via double-tap on the status bar or a Fling (see No. 21) gesture.

11. LCD Density
I guess it's about the pixel resolution of the screen. Correct me if I'm wrong but it’s under
Settings/Display&LEDs/Pixel Density (can be set from 240 DPI to 360 DPI).

12. Custom original BeanStalk Wallpapers by skyliner33v
Long press on the screen background makes the wallpaper setting option available. Nice custom wallpapers on BeanStalk. My favourite is the 19th picture on the list.

13. Custom BeanStalk boot animation by skyliner33v
When booting the phone, this short fireworks-like animation is just brilliant. I loved it from the first boot on.

14. 3-minit battery support
I found this description: “This mod allows you to view an increasing 1,070 battery types, from different users. With a single click, the battery will download and set itself on to the status bar. Storage space is not affected by thousands of unused .png's. They're stored on a server and the App only downloads the type you use.”
I'm not sure how to use this feature (at least I did not find all the pictures described in the thread of the mod. Under “Settings/Status bar” certain battery symbol settings can be changed).

15. Clock and date options
Clock and date options are in “Settings/Date&Time” – some formatting options are available in “Settings/Status bar”.

16. Contextual Header - Original and Polygraphic
These Header images are switching automatically according to the hour and some special days like Christmas and New Year's. So when you pull down from the status bar to see notifications, you can see a picture at the top of the screen. There are several options (default, nature, poly, etc) in “Settings/Notification bar” - look for Graphics in the Contextual Header.

17. Battery styles - Includes specific colors and styles. Also includes battery bar
Showing the battery state can be changed via “Settings/Status bar” – look for battery. There are lots of different options available; the battery state can be also shown as a thin bar at the top of the screen, as a small round icon or square icon, with or without percentage, etc. Tweak as you like.

18. Do not disturb option
This option can be set via Icon on the User Interface (pull down two times from the status bar). You may set an exact time, completely “do not disturb” or only the alarm should work, etc.

19. Show notification count
Shows a notification count on the Status Bar icon. It can be turned on via “Settings/Status bar” – look for the menu point “notification count for unread notifications”.

20. Recent screen options
These options are under “Settings/Display&LEDs/Recent Apps” like OmniSwitch or SlimRecent (besides AOSP). For OmniSwitch see further under No. 22. SlimRecent shows a list of apps, which can be configured in various ways (size, position, only runnung apps, etc). SlimRecent shows the list of apps similar to the pages of a pdf-file.

21. Customizable navigation bar
This feature is in “Settings/Navigation bar”. It's possible to turn it completely off, change its size, set the brilliant “Pulse” equalizer on the bar (when music is played, the navbar looks like an equializer), change its color, etc.
It's also possible to use Fling, which is a highly customizable (and brilliant) navigation bar. It's under “Settings/Navigation bar/Navigation mode”. Under “Navigation bar” you can find “Fling settings” too. So for example: We mentioned the screen recorder before – here you can set the navigation bar to Fling and in the “Fling settings” you are able to configure e.g. the “Double tap right” option (or whatever you like) to start the screen recorder. When this is set, just a double tap on the right side of the navbar and the screen recoder starts. You can start this way the flashlight, screnshot, bluetooth, search assistant and so on...

22. Use Omniswitch as default recent
It’s an app-switcher created by XDA Senior Member maxwen. OmniSwitch is highly customizable, and allows you to configure many features such as memory usage, buttons and a list of your favorite applications (to see it in action just search for omniswitch on youtube). The classic app switching mechanism is still available, so you can use that as well if you don’t like OmniSwitch.
OmniSwitch can be found under “Settings/Display&LEDs/Recent Apps” - second last from bottom. When it's set, it has to be enabled in the OmniSwitch settings (same menu point). OmniSwitch can be launched by swiping towards the center of the screen from a blue hotspot. There is also an OmniSwitch widget.

23. Built-in screen record
As it says, it's a simple and easy screen recorder, available in the app-menu. Just start by pressing on it, set the permissions and it records and saves what is on the screen until it's turned off in the notification-menu.

24. Toast animations
A Toast notification is a pop up message to notify the user of some event. It just remains on the screen for some time and goes away. It's possible to set the animations for displaying this text via “Settings/Display&LEDs/Animations” – look for Toast there. I like the TN-style.

25. Gesture Anywhere
Gesture Anywhere means that a pre-defined gesture set by you is getting attached to starting a certain app, activity or task. It's possible to set how to start this feature - from the left or the right edge of the screen – under “Settings/Display&LEDs/Gesture Anywhere/Position”. You can also set the width, height and position of the launcher area. In the same menu under “Gesture” you are able to add a gesture by pressing “Add gesture”. First you choose here to which app or task it should be connected to. After starting this feautre via left or right screen edge it will show a transparent canvas-like page to draw the gesture on the screen. After drawing the gesture, it will start the connected app or task.

26. Disable FC warnings
There were some issues with Front Camera warnings. This is fixed.

27. Disable Immersive message
I guess it's about “self-hiding” messages, but someone can maybe clarify what exactly is meant here.

28. Force expanded Notifications
Notifications can be shown in short form, which means that a swipe has to be used in order to see them. When expanded notifications are forced, there is no extra gesture required.

29. Configure scrolling cache
It's in “Settings/Display&LEDs/Animations” – if it's set, scrolling is smoother but it requires more RAM.

30. Build.prop MOD options to enable/disable tweaks as preferred
Build prop mod helps to install additional functions on your devices such as fasten the booting speed, increase the internet speed and much more. For more details here is a thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-build-prop-tweaks-t3376962

MODs can be checked under “Settings/Kernel Adiutor/” - check the menu there.

31. Less frequent Notification sounds options
Under “Settings/Sounds” all kinds of sound options can be configured or turned off. The Less Frequent Notification option is to be found there under “Other Sounds”. This means that a certain time period (3 sec, 5 sec, ..., 2 minutes, 5 minutes, etc.) can be set, in which an app plays a certain sound only one time.

32. CRT screen off/on options to specify how the animation shows
CRT = Cathod Ray Tube. I did not find the menu for CRT animations.

33. Enable/disable wake up on charge option
It's under “Settings/Display&LEDs”. It can be configured whether the screen should be turned on, if the device starts or stops charging.

34. Superuser fully embedded into the build and accessed from settings menu
It's available via SuperSU icon. All the apps installed as SuperUser will be shown here. There is also the preferences menu available, where all the SuperSU options can be changed. The apps here could not have been installed without the device being rooted and having the SuperSU permission.

35. CM Performance options and features
I'm not sure which exact options and features are meant here. Generally here are some performance suggestions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500653

36. Hide superuser icon
It's about the icon in the status bar, which is shown e.g. as a ninja or skull&bones, if SuperSU (root) is on. It can be turned on/off via “Settings/Status bar” – look for the menu point “Superuser-Indicator”.

37. Developer options and advanced reboot enabled by default
It's under “Settings/Developer options”. Maybe someone could clarify which advantages it has if it’s enabled.

38. CameraNext Modded By @abhi08638
The mods are specified in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/themes-apps/app-cos12-cameranextmod-t3086513

39. Numerous cherry-picks and improvements throughout the build... Numerous other options are hidden throughout the build.
I'm not sure which features are meant here. Maybe someone could mention a few of the cherry-picks.

And here are three of my favourite tweaks on BeanStalk:

Network monitoring in status bar
“Settings/Status bar” – look for Network activity at the bottom of the screen. Press Showing Network Activity in the status bar. Set as you like (showing only incoming, only outgoing or both traffic).

Showing traffic volume in status bar
This feature requires the Xposed framework and the Xposed-DataUsage module (if you don't know what the Xposed framework is, you can find on youtube some short description videos). It shows the volume of network traffic. Useful if there is a mobile internet data usage limit.

Moonphase
This is also available via Xposed module called “MoonPhase”. It looks great in the status bar, color can be changed too.
