I've installed the 20160908 build for 6.01 and it seems to be working very well. One problem is that when headphones are plugged into the jack, no sound from the phones nor does it cut off the speaker sound. So, in essence sound only comes from the speaker whether or not headphones plugged in. Has this been reported? Could this be a hardware problem, rather than software?

Thanks for any reply ...Edwin

OK sorry folks. It really didn't make sense that it was software. Problem turned out to be a faulty ribbon cable going from the usb and headphone jack and now is working as expected. Thanks to dmitrygr and AndDiSa for all your hard work on this project. ...Edwin

By the way, you can also root it with Magisk, works perfectly fine.

Also, Benzo-gapps crashed hard for me, so I used opengapps and it worked fine.

I added camera functionality by installing GoogleCamera-2.4.023

OTG + Charging

Does anyone know if this ROM allows USB OTG + Charging? I would like to have my OTG plugged in and also allow for charging. I am thinking of purchasing a split cable to enable this but hear that the kernel must support.

It like sending the device from death! it is working Amazingly now.

I did clean flash by wiping everything and install the ROM, Google apps, and disabling journal through Recovery ADB Sideload option after getting mad about drivers, mounting, and ADB access using the normal method!

also used google drawer for better appearance!

Many thanks for the great job ...

This ROM really sped up my Nexus. Thanks.
There is a problem though. Even after I plug in my headphones, the internal mic still seems to be active. Any idea why?

This ROM seems to not support Play Protect, which limits you from using picky apps like Netflix that give you a "Your Device is Not Compatible" error if you sideload the latest version. Anyone have a fix?

ROM works great, but I noticed that Android System Webview doesn't work. When I use apps that require webview I get a white screen on those apps. Tested with a WebView tester app on the playstore to confirm it.
Anyone have a workaround? I have the latest Android System WebView (version: 83.0.4103.106) but no dice.

Any app with webview should work -- here's the one I use to test: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app.dr1009.webviewchecker&hl=en_US
tried loading google.com w/ javascript enabled, scrollbar enabled, and with zoom button... white screen.

Try using BromiteWebView.

    Features
    • AOSP based (latest security fixes from August 2016 applied)
    • Optimized for Grouper as a "low memory device" for smoothest user experience
    • Kernel updated to support uid_cputime
    • KSM enabled
    • ZRAM disabled (my be enabled using e.g. TricksterMod)

    Installation Instructions
    1. Update Recovery to TWRP 3.0.2
    2. Boot into Recovery
    3. Factory Reset (only needed if you are not already on Android 6 AOSP on Grouper)
    4. Install OTA-Package (Build 20160908) (md5: cd4d42e6fd726232c6aaab9652d1d016)
    5. Install Gapps for 6.0 (I used Benzo-Gapps)
    6. Install SuperUser v2.7x (systemless) (Optional)
    7. Wipe dalvik (Optional, but sometimes prevents some issues)
    8. Reboot

As an alternative to flashing the OTA-Package, you can also flash the boot-.img and system-.img using fastboot.

Btw.: I suggest to disable journaling on ext4 partitions (you might want to have a look at this thread and running fstrim regularly

flash and use on your own risk!

    CREDITS,
AOSP/Google and Dmitry Grinberg for great initial support and Ziyann for setting up the Grouper-AOSP repository
