this rom is working great on my i337m (Canadian s4 variant), just wondering if there is any way pre-installed root can be completely removed?

I have some apps not working as it detects root.

Thank you very much for this! I have a serious issue though. The new layout - Home Button for the screen-shot Google service and left button for windows switching is nice... but in this version of the ROM holding down for longer the left button do NOT open "Preferences" in the applications. For example, I cannot open the "Preferences" of Titanium Backup Pro (and I cannot switch to my back-up archives on my memory card).

Google Play Services Has Stopped

Hi
Dirty flashed the latest update and got the infamous 'Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped" message constantly popping up.... Been a while since I've had to do battle with that, and the solution seems to have changed subtly each time it occurs. Any particular advice? Would a clean install be better?

From my experience I had to flash back odin stock image, reroot and flash through twrp. However i sometimes feel its all due to latest security updates from google that is messing the reliability of android.. Same is happening with Windows since a few years.

Note: Using i9515.

Sent from my GT-I9515 using XDA-Developers mobile app

A second flash - but this time with Gapps - solved the problem.

    The Android Open Source Project with OMS/Layers

    Code:
    /*

     * Your warranty is now void.

     *

     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,

     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM

     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if

     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

     */

    Smoothness of Stock ROM with greatness of OMS Themes

    What is AOSP?

    AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.

    Anyway to get a working system I added some changes from CodeAurora Forum and CyanogenMod. I added also 3 non-AOSP features for a better user experience (Advanced Reboot, "Clear All" button in Recents and an option to delete screenshots from the notification area) and I'm NOT going to add something other.

    What is OMS?

    OMS (Overlay Manager Service) which was designed by google and its modded by our developers to include it into AOSP ROMs.In short,OMS is a Theme Engine replacement and it can do wonders!
