I'm seeing many of the same problems others have. Lockups, distorted text, slow downs and so on. Haven't been able to fix it myself so here's hoping beta 6 will fix it. I don't know how to help narrow down the bugs but let me know if I can add some info mg logs. All the other versions before 5 have been faster and more stable for me.

I agree with this; I've been adjusting everything I can including Supercharger settings and performance settings and overclock settings, this is by far a huge step back in performance, I don't know what possibly could be causing any of this. And yes I indeed did a full wipe, so that isn't going to fix these issues as another poster suggested.

Hi,

No it sounds pretty definite that the digitiser (touch screen) is either faulty or has a loose connection (not unknown to happen)

Try flashing 4ext recovery - better than clockworkmod and if that shows the same issue then it's time to break out the screwdrivers.

Although I'm pretty certain it's impossible, you could try reflashing the radio to see if that has any effect but I'm virtually positive that has no control over the digitiser functions.

I've had to replace a couple of digitisers on Desire Z's - it's not actually that difficult but it requires patience because of the construction of the phone, having a fold out keyboard (good side effect is that you can tighten up a loose hinge at the same time if you have that problem

Just the other day I was sweating and got my phone covered with it. Later in the day I found my buttons not working anymore on the screen. Luckily I have some spare parts for the Desire Z to change the Digitizer. Not hard to do, but time consuming process. Be careful with any liquid with your phones, the digitizer damages easy.

Exactly. My digitizer messed up a couple of weeks ago. The section of the keyboard where the G is located would get activated when I touched near the T of the T-Mobile at the top of the phone.

Got it changed for the Indian equivalent of $50 incl labor so not bad. No more T-Mobile branding though so that's a good thing.

I've building from source and let me say wow! There's been a lot of good stuff happening since beta 5.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can flash ICS on your g2/dz, thank a dev.

Using Tasker to force CPU

Hey guys, so I wanted to tweak my CPU processor a bit more and realized that each time the screen turned off and back on, the settings were not remembered. So I set Tasker to force the max (1.4Ghz)and min(748Mhz) when the screen goes on and off. Is there anything that could go wrong with that?

Thanks again! Sorry for the late reply, apparently I still had manufacturer warranty so I got HTC do come and get my device for repair, I'll let you know how it turned out. I hope they don't see it as accidental damage though.

Hi,

I'm going to connect my G2 to my VW BT Kit Premium. I can connect it with rSAP now (rsap-android.com) but I want to use the modem feature of this kit to have gmail sync, and Icoyote which uses data mobile connection...

The rsap-android dev do a plugin (DUN) to do that but I need ppp_async.ko to finish the configuration.

I tried to add ppp_async.ko to my G2, but I need the kernel file to that.

Anyone could give me a link to download it?

Or if anyone should give me the ppp_async.ko for this release (audacity 5), it would be cool!! ;)

Thanks

300 pages ago I've read about
Code:
could not dlopen libposteffect.so
error.
I've installed Google Translate 2.5 and getting the same error.
Any idea how to fix it?

ps: great work! :)

Is anyone having a problem mounting an SD-ext partition using this rom? It showed up fine when I was running CM7, but doesn't show up now...

Otherwise, this seems to be running well, thanks Finny!

I believe the next build for Audacity will be a DD JB rom. That's my feeling since its been awhile, and the Andromadus JB test builds has been great recently. The test builds have been my DD for a few weeks now.

There will likely be another thread, but you're right in that the ICS Audacity will be/is done. Mimicry will have a few more versions to get as stable an ICS release as possible under the Audacity label, but the new development is being done with JB right now.

That said, JB is still broken in a lot of ways and if the "next version" or "beta 6" just happened to be a JB release the backlash would be huge. That's why I would personally use a new thread rather than this one. The media encoding/decoding (OMX) still has some very large very serious show stopper issues but they're being focused on very heavily to get fixed.

I'm not even aware of all the smaller issues, but I'm sure once the big ones are fixed they'll all pop up as usual :p

Yea making a new Audacity thread for JB should work out better. Won't cause a mess of two in one rom, nor many comments on "beta6" having issues because it migrated to JB. And will you make a new thread for JB Mimicry, or just inform the flashers that thread will migrate to JB? And i'm sure JB Mimicry is waiting for CM10 code to slow down for you to really start your added Mimicry customizations.

I would say I can't wait for JB Andromadus Audacity/Mimicry (well I can't wait for the ones not using JB yet), but today is my last day using my cracked screen G2/DZ as my main device. Today my Galaxy Nexus comes in the mail today (Zagg screen protector and TPU cases come in yesterday) that I bought from the Play Store for the low $350 ($392 after taxes & shipping ) and i'm really excited about all the roms and kernels to try out. Plus it has a better+larger screen (I've been tired of this small 3.7" for a long time). But anyways, i'll test out new G2/DZ JB roms from time to time to see your guy's progress, but its time to finally move past this dated device (which the Andromadus team pumped life back into with the ICS & JB roms!). Good luck with JB Andromadus team! Thx for your hard work and dedication :highfive:

yes that makes sense. Although I think that people will be confused no matter what happens because niker made different threads for the GB/ICS roms he has and some people still get confused and I was just confused about a week ago (a dumb moment for me) for the jb test builds and the ics test builds being in one place.

    Andromadus Audacity Beta 5

We have come a long way since our first attempts back in November '11. I am proud to say we have finally hit beta. With hitting the new milestone we have added a new word to our ROM and that is Audacity. Why did we put Audacity in the name? Well the word Audacity means: boldness or daring, especially with confident or arrogant disregard for personal safety, conventional thought, or other restrictions. And that is exactly what we were when we took on the task of Ice Cream Sandwich for our HTC Vision/G2/Desire Z. We hope you enjoy our rom!

    What is This?
We present to you ICS built from source for your HTC Vision, G2, or Desire Z. This thread will also be used for all DEVing for ICS until we work out all the kinks with it.

    What Works?
    Radio ( Phone & Mobile Data, SMS/MMS )
    Touchscreen
    Wifi
    Bluetooth
    Physical Keyboard
    Audio
    Real Full HW Accel
    Screen Orientation
    GPS ( Kinda )
    USB - UMS
    Camera ( Kinda )
    Other Things

    What Doesn't?
    You Tell Me

    Code:
    #include
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    Andromadus Alpha 13

As usual here you go...Dark can clean up shortly :D

    Andromadus Alpha 13 mini changelog.

I have been spending much of my free time on this recently and unless some things change after this release is out I will have to slow down a little as there is loads of work I need to do that I have been putting off to work on this. Would be that working on this paid then I could pay somebody to do the work I need to do and continue kanging away, That not being the case you'll all just have to be patient for a while instead :)

So many things have changed that I'm not going to list them all as you would still be reading them hours from now, if you're really that interested you can read the commit History on github, some of them might be slightly amusing even as there isn't a way to stop me committing stuff when drunk, which is a fair bit of the time!

Qcom OMX integrated - SD YouTube fixed, Netflix Fixed
CRT on/off animation fixed (on seems a little funky but hey....)
    Custom LED notifications
Switched to Cyanogenmod Volume Wake and Volume music control (old toggles removed)
    Fixed the Flashlight power widget
Integrated CM's signal settings (6 bar toggle still works if you have icon's selected)
    Lots of Qcom media/display updates.
Switched to using Lord Clockan's kernel, I like it.
Camera updates (is it just me being lucky or do most of the artifacts on pics at 5MP go away after you take a few pictures?)
Loads of other stuff CM changed/fixed/added along the way.
Goo manager included (dark made me do it...)
So much more that I can't remember!
    Tweaks included!

Use whatever gapps you like but I'm still using v11 quite happily!
If you have issues do a SUPERWIPE and REFLASH everything before clogging the thread up. REALLY!

    This is my final warning:

1.) Please stop "moderating" this thread. There is no need to have people posting the same warning every few comments. IE "Use the thanks button" - Obviously they are not listening, and it is just as un-useful as the posts saying thank you.

2.) If your post starts with "this will probably get me in trouble but..." DO NOT F***ing post it!

3.) Read the OP and report bugs in the bug tracker...this is still a development thread, let them do their thing.

4.) NEVER should you be rushing them to get to work. Remember, they do this on there own time, and for free. If you want it faster, learn to do it yourself.

5.) If your post is not going to aid in the development DO NOT POST!!!!

On a last note: I will no longer be issuing warnings. I will be issuing infractions.

    Changelog:
Updated to Qcom's ICS Adreno libs
Updated patches for a few things from CM, profiles etc,
Whatever else CM has changed in the mean time.
And obviously everything else I forgot about.
Camera works with a few "issues"
There are 2 5MP options the first one produces complete garbage, the second works find apart from a small line across the bottom, sometimes it's there sometimes's it's green, sometimes it's pink, occasionally it goes away until the next reboot when it's back again.....
Camcorder - yes it works only at one res at the moment though 720x480
    Panorama works also.
Had another go at fixing usb tethering as well...
Other bug fixes and patches not mentioned here.

So here we are again, as I mentioned I'm rather busy so this could have been out days ago if I had the time. Whoever decided that decorating half a house at once was a good idea is clearly insane! oh wait....

    What's changed?

Updated patches for a few things from CM, profiles etc,

I think that's us "Feature Complete"

Which means......naa I leave that for dark :)
