Yes haven't messed with anything as 8.2 has been great, super smooth.

Just follow step 1 and you should be good. The rest is TMobile specific which will not apply to this ROM.

.......... quick question, I read that the 8.2 released have a couple of magically scripts ( even though I am a Micro Admin scripting is one thing I never learned) for startup and shutdown trimming. If I change the boot up to a custom one will that affect the scripts? I love the speed and do not want it to change because of something I did .......

Shouldn't affect it. These are init.d scripts independent of what visual files you change.

I have a weird issue. I was running 8.1 for months without any major issues. I did a full wipe and reinstalled 8.2. Every once in a while it will play one of the melody alarms without any reason. Even after force closing any open app the melody continues to play. Only a restart will stop it. It is the oddest thing I've ever come across with a ROM, AOSP or TW!

I thought so too. I checked all the notifications to see if a notification was set with that ringtone, but I would assume that it would also show in the notification. My only assumption at this time is that it has to do with the alarms since it happened twice and at around the same time as they were set. Alarm settings looked normal as well and wasn't set with the pre-alarm or whatever it's called (phone not on me ATM). If it does it again around the alarm time then I'm assuming it has to do with the alarms.

Yeah, I would have to say investigate a little more, maybe even turn the volume down so it keeps runing but very lightly so you can try to find the app causing. Maybe even grab a log cat and we can see what app triggered the sound that way as well. But thats always a pain in the ass. Its best just to use common sense troubleshooting.

....... can anyone tell me where the settings for the Lock-screen are scripted from? Are they in the framework.apk ? I am playing with building a theme and somehow the color of the clock on the lockscreen changed and I am not sure which update I did changed it ........

random reboots during text messaging?

every once in a while on the native text messaging app i will get a random reboot. Another time or two it was during moving between multitasking items. (holding down home button to click on another task).

Any reports of this? i did a full wipe upon install and also am using the included kernel.

I get random reboots no matter what app is open.. sometimes it will just reboot while in hibernation. I have this problem on 5 different clean installs. 2 phones arent even setup, and they experience random reboots.

Yeah, its odd. Some people get random reboots.

I never got one

Granted I dont use the device. But I do leave it on and have not see any reboots because I check uptime on all my devices regulalry.

You could try to get logs but if its a random reboot logs are dumped. Which then in turn make it impossible to use logs to trouble shoot.

You could verify what firmware and radio you are on and compare that with the collective and try to see if that is an issue.

Also you can note if you are on Safestrap or Standard unlocked.

Maybe we can draw some non-scientific conclusions.

But to be frank, Samsung has made such a mess of this device with knox and what not... Its rediculous to build for at this time.

We cant even get 4.4.2 booting on unlocked device.

Ready to throw in the towl. Its been almost 2 yearsa for me...

I can tell you for fact that radio is WAY old. I would start by updating the radio to a matching ML1 baseband. you may have to look around for it.

I would also assume that youre firmware is probably just as old.


So with those as factors I would recommend the latest MF1 Firmware (last version that was unlockable).

That would be where I would start.



If someone could fact check these fimrware and radio versions that would be great. I am at work and dont want to accidentally lock anyone down.
