Well dear friends, this is a great community with many funny, intelligent and helpful people but this will be my last post in this thread.

I have moved back to Stock.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped me and others in troubleshooting and building this into what it is.

I would like to to also thank the moderators for doing such a great job with maintaining this thread and joining in on the fun.

And of course Most of all I want to thank Nate for all the hard work he's put into this ROM making into one of the most recognized ROMs and not giving up on the device. You do great work and wish you the very best.

That sounded like an acceptance speech I know after reading it, but wanted to let everyone know how grateful I am. If anyone needs me (doubt it) feel free to PM for help.

THIS is how EVERY user should feel about the work the devs do, about the community surrounding that work, and about being grateful for the experiences!

Kudos and mad respect to you Syco!

You'll be missed for sure! I think I'll PM you just to tell you how great PN Oreo is :p

Google sent me a 20% off coupon code for the pixel 2 for being a Nexus 6p owner. It expires on the 28th. If you want it, PM me. I won't be using it because I refuse to buy any phone without a headphone jack, no matter how sweet the rest of the phone is.

I feel the same way. No headphone jack, no sale. I'm going to be keeping my 6P for a while.

Had a Pixel XL (1st and 2nd gen.). Now back to 6p. Bought the white version 64GB for 200€ and replaced the battery for 50€. Guys no need to spend 1k€ for the XL 2! I have the money but makes no sense to me. Software experience is nearly same, camera is really good enough (and I am really looking for the cam in a phone!).
This is the proof that in the last years there is no real revolution in smartphone market but big players are focusing on marketing. Just my two cents

Are users still holding out for an update to this rom? If so, can I respectfully ask why?

Hardcore PN followers will hold out for it, knowing it is well worth the wait. Our devices function flawlessly on the current version and i think we are all still satisfied with how the 6P still performs on PN. If Oreo PN comes, ill upgrade, if not, I'm perfectly happy running this version until my device dies.

I know I am. To be honest, it's taking a long time and sometimes I feel the itch to flash something else. Then I realize PN has many features I don't want to live without. But since Beans told us it was coming, it's worth the wait. (and I still hope it's coming!)

+1. Can't justify a phone without a headphone jack, mostly due to air travel. wireless headphones just don't have the longevity to endure a long flight and I won't carry multiple pairs of headphones nor will I buy a USB port to headphone adapter. Put the damn headphone jack in the phone!

Cheers,

Pixel 2XL came with the adaptor. Also there are wired USB C headphones. I have a pair of those that came with a LeEco phone. They are really loud.

To not have the ability to charge my phone while using a wired headphone is still a fail for my requirements. Not saying this is for everybody, but it's my own usage requirements that are driving my next phone.

But, I am happy to stay on the Nexus 6P. I've had few problems (had to replace the battery, and just recently the charging port), but it's the best device I have owned.

Cheers,
B.D.

Death to headphone jacks!

:highfive:

I love it. The way I look at it, use wireless headphones, and plug them in to charge them when needed. Either way, you are ALWAYS plugging something in. Earbuds to phone? You plugged something in. BT headphones to charger? Plugged something in. Since I got my XL 2 I have only had to charge it during the day 4 times, and I preordered at the announcement. I've got some bigger BT cans I use for my long flights, and haven't had to charge them during a flight yet.

Begin headphone derangement syndrome in...

Not to mention, if I understand it, the wireless headphone is the only way to truly get the water proof rating (whatever it is) and I think that feature will eventually trump the convenience factor of wired headphones... Wireless headphones were getting super popular before the jacks started disappearing, so the two just seem to make sense.

Of course, this coming from a guy who uses headphones a few times between leap years :p

But that waterproofing though :D

If headphone jacks die, they should have 2 usb c ports on phones. One for headphones and the other for charging.

you can get a good waterproof rating with the headphone jack, they just removed it so people keep bluetooth on all the time and they can track you better #conspiracy

I thought the waterproof rating without the jack was the next level better? Like sustained submersion vs momentary submersion...

You know they've already been tracking our signals for years... #NoConspiracy :p

Well after a bit of an absence while rebuilding the rom from scratch for 7.0 i am finally pleased to announce the return of PureNexus!!

    a couple things to note:
*not all mods from marshmallow will be in the first build so be patient as i add your favorite mods, etc!
*as of right now the rom only has substratum legacy support. will update to full blown substratum as the stability increases for N!
*changelog doesnt display anything for this first build as all changes are listed on github/xda op, changelog will be back next release!

ok, Lets get to the goodies!!

New 7.0 Build with some more features, and some fixs, i am aware that 7.1.0 has dropped(pixel development branch) however it is not the final 7.1 and would be unstable as it stands right now(no kernel source, no gapps, etc). so i am going to stick with 7.0 until the final 7.1.1 source is live for stabilitys sake :)

Also i have taken over support of banks gapps and rebranded them as just "Dynamic Gapps" mini & full, mini is the traditional banks gapps, and full is purenexus gapps
