Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm not able to boot up the device after installing the stock firmware (7.1.2) as described above. Recovery also doesn't work, it goes straight into bootlooping. I'm afraid that the device is busted. I've issued a repair request, will update with what happens next.

It is virtually impossible to brick a 6P.
Follow this: https://www.androidexplained.com/nexus-6p-fastboot-mode/ then continue from the flash_all.bat step.

A search of this thread has led me to a bunch of inconclusive information... I'm looking at a head unit upgrade for my car, but it only supports android via miracast. Has anyone actually made miracast work with the Nexus 6P and the latest PN? Thanks.

Not me. Blame the auto manufacturer.
They should all work on any platform.
A real source of frustration.

Happened to me couldn't reach recovery bootlooping for ever

Had to search a while and found out that my A57 clusters died and I found this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...x-nexus-6p-bootloop-death-blod-t3640279/amp/) that explains the problem and how to fix it, but it requires flashing modified ramdisk to turn off A57 clusters (phone slower, but working)

The next week I decided to buy an other Nexus 6P on internet for 60$ cause the screen was broken and I swapped my screen on the N6P I just bought...

Anyway hope it will fix your problem, also if you use a ROM that hasn't a modified boot.img (and that the modified kernel don't work [it wasn't working on mine had to use modified boot.img] DM me I can edit the boot.img of the ROM you want to use to make it 4cores

Thanks! Yeah, that's what I thought. Unfortunately, I can't influence BMW, and in this case it's an outfit that is upgrading an older car to newer revisions of hardware and software. It seems that BMW had been drinking the Apple Kool-Aid and the only way to get Android apps on the screen is miracast (does support hands free calling and music streaming). There is another outfit that replaces some of the BMW components with their own gear that runs Android, but it's running Android 4.4.4, so I really wonder about app compatibility.

My newish Asus ZenPad Z10 supports miracast, so I can just use that in the car, if I do the upgrades.

Question on Random Shutoff

I wanted to get some advice. I replaced my battery to solve the early shutoff and battery drain issue ~6 months ago. Now I am getting random shutoffs in the 60% range or higher that I suspect are due to the overloading of the high frequency cores.

Anyone have any experience with using the bootloop fix (turning off the high frequency cores) to solve sudden shutoffs? When the phone shuts off suddenly it will only reboot when charging.

Also does anyone know if there is a most recent pure nexus boot image with the bootloop fix applied or should I just build my own?

Thanks. F

There is a pure nexus boot.img posted in that thread in the same post as other images. Just scroll down a little bit and you should be able to find it.

Though I suppose could be the big cores I'm leaning towards battery again. Even though you replaced the battery still can have issues. I went through couple replacements until I got a battery that would hold up. Fortunately my lemon batteries presented early on maybe yours just went down the road.

This maybe a small one, but its one of my most favorite featrures of pn. How do set this on stock oreo? Does something in build prop need to be modified for this? Or is this just a PN thing.

Last PN update was 7/25/2017 (check the thread title) which is far less than a year.

Threads are usually only closed after the dev has stated there will be no further development, AND no one will be maintaining the work, AND there has been no thread activity for quite some time.

Since there ARE still people trying out the last PN update, and thousands of members are still running PN, and Nate HAS stated development will continue here, closing the thread is not a consideration, or even a valid suggestion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but opinions should be seasoned with accuracy and knowledge if they are to be taken seriously.

There shouldn't need to be any explanation of why talking down a Rom in it's own thread, or bragging about another Rom in another Rom thread is a bad idea, and shows poor character; whether or not it violates the rules. (which it does)

"Those who believe in big government should be mandated by law to handle snakes on Sunday."

2 birds 1 stone :p

While I am very politically and religiously active, I have the ability to laugh at myself, and not be offended by other's view of either.

Unfortunately, this is not the case with many which is why these topics rarely remain humorous or light-hearted, and why they are usually frowned upon in Xda.

Which is really a shame because so many people need to learn to laugh more, and not take life so seriously.

With that being said... let the peace and harmony begin :D

I am a firm believer that anything worth taking seriously is worth making fun of. I get a lot of 'did you really just say that?' looks.:D

Well after a bit of an absence while rebuilding the rom from scratch for 7.0 i am finally pleased to announce the return of PureNexus!!

    a couple things to note:
*not all mods from marshmallow will be in the first build so be patient as i add your favorite mods, etc!
*as of right now the rom only has substratum legacy support. will update to full blown substratum as the stability increases for N!
*changelog doesnt display anything for this first build as all changes are listed on github/xda op, changelog will be back next release!

ok, Lets get to the goodies!!

New 7.0 Build with some more features, and some fixs, i am aware that 7.1.0 has dropped(pixel development branch) however it is not the final 7.1 and would be unstable as it stands right now(no kernel source, no gapps, etc). so i am going to stick with 7.0 until the final 7.1.1 source is live for stabilitys sake :)

Also i have taken over support of banks gapps and rebranded them as just "Dynamic Gapps" mini & full, mini is the traditional banks gapps, and full is purenexus gapps
