Yeah I'm already using the app but I guess when implemented into the rom it doesn't drain much battery

That wouldn't make any difference.
The play store version give you the option to go for the paid version and unlock extra features. The ROM build version only offers the basic features.
I think adding it to the ROM is a bad idea and offers nothing extra.

It's not the app implemented. It's a feature with all the options and you can either disable it if you don't find it useful.. I think it's very useful when taking a screenshot

About the layers vs CMTE question, I vote for CMTE.

Why? I just flashed PureNexus coming from Chroma because I loaded "fa layers" (which I did before without issues) and the phone went into bootloop.

On and all, I think Layers is promising but not stable yet.

Layers is as stable as they go, even Google merged it in. It also doesn't bother the performance of the device like CMTE. Now, the boot loop you experienced must've of been from 1-2 things.

1. You had more than 4 frameworks installed.
2. You applied the wrong version meant for an older/newer version.

By far, the worst part about both is seeing a theme meant for only one.

Layers is in absolutely NO way unstable. Cmte causes far more run issues. Layers is solid as fudge

Layers is way more confusing though. I like the simplicity of CMTE. If layers were one-click I'd be using them instead.
I agree that there are more steps when it comes to layers but the app is being revised to where it is instant application just like theme engine is

But also there's a huge benefit to learning layers, you can mix multiple layers together pick and choose each individual application that you want themed a certain way which you cannot do on CMTE

Its not the experience I have. Bootloops, residual theming when you don't wipe userdata from rom to rom. I am not saying CMTE is problem free, but I had far fewer issues with it than Layers.

You asked our opinion regarding this subject, this is my opinion. And I don't talk from imagination but experience.

Cmte mainly because of the system wide icons and fonts!
Cheers
Really sad that PN won't be having a cmte version...

After 2 days of using this ROM, all I can say is: very smooth!

I know this isn't topic related but I'm hopping someone on here may know the answer:

Does anyone know how to get titanium backup to restore apps on marshmallow?

Well there is no vote since it is already decided lol. Additionally, the new Layers (Substratum for @nicholaschum grumble) is a lot safer that the normal Layers.

Well after a bit of an absence while rebuilding the rom from scratch for 7.0 i am finally pleased to announce the return of PureNexus!!

    a couple things to note:
*not all mods from marshmallow will be in the first build so be patient as i add your favorite mods, etc!
*as of right now the rom only has substratum legacy support. will update to full blown substratum as the stability increases for N!
*changelog doesnt display anything for this first build as all changes are listed on github/xda op, changelog will be back next release!

New 7.0 Build with some more features, and some fixs, i am aware that 7.1.0 has dropped(pixel development branch) however it is not the final 7.1 and would be unstable as it stands right now(no kernel source, no gapps, etc). so i am going to stick with 7.0 until the final 7.1.1 source is live for stabilitys sake :)

Also i have taken over support of banks gapps and rebranded them as just "Dynamic Gapps" mini & full, mini is the traditional banks gapps, and full is purenexus gapps
