[ROM][7.0] Android 7 - Nougat [T700/T705/T800/T805]

I'm not sure if this bug is on the updated version of this ROM or not, it seems that if I sleep my device and leave it for 5 mins, that when I turn it on, the fingerprint scanner doesn't work, like it has a timeout before you have to type your pin number

I have searched this forum to see if anyone else is experiencing my problem. I don't think I found any one so it may be a faulty charge port, but just in case... Ever since I installed this ROM, the charging of my 800 (wifi) has been pretty poor. Not only is it slow, but it also disconnects/reconnects sporadically on it's own. And it discharges fast. I like the ROM enough to stick it out, but it is still frustrating. I just don't know if I want to go through the expense of replacing the port.

those who are experiencing some issues and bugs, don't forget that it is still an alpha release, VERY alpha.
As to Bdozier do you get the same problem on another rom ? if not i suggest you find something more stable until the nougat get some well needed fixes.
And please don't push on malosasha to go any faster or fix the rom for another device that he doesn't own, he's just starting to get his things ready. Patience is a virtue .

Ha ok , then it works in fact Phone calls work too. Maybe i should just open a new post and clarify this as recommended by @amateurhack, but i don't know it the mods will accept this , as this is jsut a revival more then a new rom.

I would ask @LenAsh, but I would think that it shouldn't be a problem if: a.) you give credit to @Schischu for his work; b.) clearly state that your work is simply to keep the AOSP patches and Android security updates happening; c.) clearly state all of the known issues with the ROM, and d.) provide a link to this thread and the AOSP 6 thread so someone coming to the new ROM can do research without too much searching.

At some point, someone will figure out MM and N kernels and drivers for these tabs, and then those things could be merged into the ROM by you or someone else, and then we can not worry about all those references. But for the interim, i think this would be a good compromise.

More reason to start a new thread. We will have issues with the new ROM that have nothing to do with the ROM in the OP.

More People here haved this kind of Accu load and drain problem! What I remember is that in many cases the Accu-Chip is not right Konfigurated!? Here in this thread, is a Tutorial for reset and rekonfigurate the Accu-Chip! For that You must full load and then complete drain the Accu several times and other steps! Search this post here, and follow the instructions and maybe this solve the problem for You to!?

I think he can simply start a new thread and he will be OP immediately. This ROM was abandoned , so yes he can state that it was originally started by schishu and then simply post his work. The same thing happened when Nvertigo left the scene, other people used his work to start some new roms and gave him credit. I don't know if someone was able to reach schischu by PM, but if he doesn't answer then the work is for the next guy who want to work on it. Just follow the rule of the forum written up here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784390 and everything will be fine. If schischu comes back then he can work on his rom again or whatever. But for now it's an "orphelin Rom". I doubt very much that schischu will be back.
I always have some much problem to remember if it's schuchi, shuschi , schichu, schischu ...jezz it will be a nice change :silly:

Ho and as deadman said, we won't be able to get a real Nougat on the tab s because it doesn't support the Vulkan API and other hardware might not be supported neither, so it will always be a mix of MM and Nougat

Ok. Just installed the last update on my t800. Whit nano gapps. Installed the ROM, reboot ti recovery and gapps. Boot fine. SetupWizard works fine. No problem registering fingerprint. Front and rear camera working fine whit stock app. Thats it for now. I will test more the ROM.
Edit. Mtp host forcé close some times. I restore a twrp backup of my data from RR 6.0.1 to test and all of my app are working fine. Youtube works fine un 720p con 1080 the v�*deo hace fps drops

So I can confirm on SM-T805, Data works with OP's rom, but not with the latest one from today.

about opengapps I always use pico (7.0 in this case) and it always works fine.

@Maheshwara as a dirty fix to get 3G/4G you can type this command as root :

cp -av /data/user_de/0/com.android.providers.telephony/databases /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/

if you do so delete the databases directory before upgrading next time however.

I dont known If is a ROM problem. But my tabS is charging supermega slow. 6 hours and is just un 50% whitout any usage and WiFi off.

I keep running into the issue of my apps not being able to write outside their app folder!

Check your autorisations on camera app. it works for me.

Btw i found the graphical glitch issue and fixed it . In fact @Schischu found it in the surfacecomposer, but he made an error in the make files and it was not applied while i guess he tought it was.
Honestly i m trying to find why his global flags are not applied too, but a dirty fix in the c code works great.

Thanks for setting up the renewed repo (and respect for the nice and clean manifest ), I finally got it to work for me, had to download again. Your build scripts don't quite work for me, but I've just done it the simple way with "lunch" and "make otapackage". I'm quite glad also to see that the camera is working again, on my last build I recently noticed that it didn't work (hadn't tried the camera since flashing Nougat I think). So that's great!

Are you going to push the fixes for the graphical glitch, or have you set up a fork where you're going to push the sources to? Not that they're particularly bothering me, but if they can be gotten rid off, all the better

I'd love to be able to help some with actually getting done anything with this, but unfortunately I'm only slowly increasing my understanding of how this works and my actual programming skills are close to non-existent (actually my long standing plan is to figure out a way to build a version of this for the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, but so far I've always stumbled over weird building errors).

I m creating a dedicated thread at the moment will upload overything over there. Regarding help , those are the 2 main things that i won't test/maintain personally : Gapps and OTA. I will even disable OTA from settings. So maybe a good idea would be to upload a first version with OTA then set up an OpenDelta server and at each new revision compil it and upload on the server. Check with @Orphee if interested.
