It works
Even the su binary cannot be updated, the root is here and all apps that needs root works.
I will attach this file in my post, without updating the post, until to have a full workaround for the su update.
Seriously, i'm really sorry but with third method i have error in spflashtools : STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL (0xC0060003)

I have test it with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 1704.
Have you read the notes in the last of the post ?
In windows, phone off and press and hold "Vol+" while connecting the cable, and wait until DA download complete before release it.
In Ubuntu, phone off and already connected : press and hold "Vol+" and "Power" and wait until DA download complete before all release.

Oke try to get in fastboot Power Up and Power
got 3 rows
1 Recovery (got green lying android No command)

In this menu you can browse options by "Vol-UP" button, and confirm selection by "Vol-DOWN" button.
You choose the option "2 Fastboot" and follow the flashing guide.
But if i scroll to the Fastboot option what then because when i conform the selection the only thing that i see is a new row and what ever i do nothing happens.
Nothing happen on your phone, but your PC now is connected to your phone in fastboot mode, using the usb cable.
If you type now this command in a terminal of your PC (with adb drivers and fastboot already installed) : fastboot flash boot new-boot.img
this will flash your boot partition with this patched boot that gives you the root.
If you do not familiar with fastboot, google it, there is a lot off tutorials about it.

III- Method 3 : using the phhusson modified boot image
1- flash the attached boot image, using fasboot (fastboot flash boot boot-super-bootimg-output-su-eng-r318.img)
The command for the terminal is then fastboot flash boot boot-super-bootimg-output-su-engr318.img
and then enter
but where do i put that img file in the root or other directory , say i have that file in the dir /Test
is the command then fastboot flash boot ./Test boot-super-bootimg-output-su-engr318.img

place your img file in you adb directory, it's more simple, after type the commande normally
Perhaps you must, the first time, do a "Firmware upgrade" instead of "Download only".
It that case, it upgrade any things, including the preloader.
After you can do "Download only" for flashing individual partitions.
Can you test this ?
hum.mm. but if i do that (upgrade) with the scatter.txt of first post, the preloader is empty, no ?

You are right
Use the original rom 20170816 from the first post, and change only the boot image.
SPFlashTool refuse anymore to do a Firmware upgrade if not all partition are checked and all files exists.
Beware, you will loss all your data by doing a firmware upgrade!
