It is recommended to flash rom then base gapps before booting into the system.

Delta's solution worked, I don't have any problems with those Gapps for some reason. Oh well, it's working! Thanks for the help!

So far no crashed (yet). I did notice that this ROM does not support exFAT, so for people using SD cards, make sure it is formatted in FAT32. You won't be able to use it if it isn't.
I believe this has something to do with Google's new package signature verification routine in nougat. The package signatures in the Google play services provided by opengapps will not pass Google's new signature verification routine. The package signatures for Google play services in the nougat base gapps package that I posted will pass the new verification routine.
It may be up to the Rom developer to disable this new package security feature, but knowing @fefifofum, we want to keep this ROM as secure as possible and not try to disable any new security features that nougat provides.
No issues with Deltadroid's Gapps. Rom is very smooth and stable: I haven't had any force close yet. Thank you again Fefifofum!

None of the apps I'm using are able to write to the SD Card apparently. Play Music crashes when I try to select it and doesn't even detect it anymore afterwards. Pocket gets an error message, saying that the storage is unavailable and that I need to check if my device is connected with a pc, which it obviously isn't. However, I am able to restore apps from there with Titanium Backup.
Is this a know issue with the ROM or is it an SD Card issue?

Big thanks to the dev, for making this available in such short time, really nice to have Android 7.0 on my old Gpad 8.3 with most things working.
Btw i noticed that CM statusbar settings dont seem to be working, thats for the bugs, but i guess functionality first and then features

Es file explorer can write in external SD just fine.
I moved a lot of media files to and from it.

Not MAPS.ME. I have all the maps on SD and now MAPS.ME does not allow me to use SD card as maps location.
Does this rom play video's @ full hd, 60 fps? Do you encounter problems when the video is playing from the SD card?
I've worked around the problem by formatting my SD card as internal storage. Now those apps are able to work with it without issues. I did not experience any dismounts, by the way, which is quite a wonderful surprise. Apart from that, I'm also surprised this ROM is as stable as it is now. You've done a wonderful job already, @fefifofum. Normally I would donate to developers like you to show my appreciation for their work, but it doesn't look like you're accepting any (or I'm blind again ).

Just installed and so far, all looking good. Using Deltandroid's gpps, KitCat bootloader.
Deleted the system/priv-app/TeleServicePress per Fefifofum's instructions by mounting & deleting. (Impossible to do a thing before deleting with TWRP). Still using a no-name cheap SD 8Gb for external storage....all good so far.
Only see one quirk and that's the battery icon will not show 'Text', only percent.

EDIT: Will show text on battery with quick pull-down task bar.

Had one hard hang this morning which occurred when I left the tablet still charging from overnight and attempted to 'wake it' with the charge cord still plugged in. I had to do a hard reset, as It showed the task bar, but I couldn't pull it down. Just the machine just froze up tight.
Will try that again and then report. Maybe there is an option in Developer options about charging...have not read all fine things yet. If it does it continuously I'll do a logcat and post.
Didn't have to re-flash anything...just a cold reboot and all seems to be working OK now. Put it to sleep and have waked it up...but no charging needed yet. So will see...

By the way, if people want to use OpenGapps, make sure to exclude Google's Webview in your gapps-config.txt. That's what caused the Google Services fc's during the initial setup.
Mini open gapps seem to work just fine. With deleting the telephony file of course.
No. Formatting system, data, & all caches is necessary. Best to follow fefofifum's install instructions to the note. This is not a simple install, but if done correctly this ROM seems very stable.
Actually i just did a factory reset and flashed normallky, no problems so far, except the known bugs.

So, one comment...all seems very finished to me. One thing that's not working is the apk 'Andy log'. Other similar apps are working. Or use terminal for logcat, but hasn't been needed here. No bugs with what I do.

Yeah, the ROM is amazingly stable for the state of CM14. Been running it since day one and I haven't faced any reboot or force close yet.
As always, Fefifofum has done an amazing job.
