This is no longer necessary. Fefifofum has already fixed that error: you can just flash the newer builds in the standard way.

Hi, I do have this error, even after flashing 20161030 build, I just resolve it by "ignoring" the error until I reboot.
Another "problem" I have is that when I flash the rom, I have a red message like : "E: unknown mount" or something like that, does anyoneone know why ?
Thanks ! Sorry for my english...

About the "other problem", this is also a known issue: it happens to everyone. Just ignore that error.

The v500 is great because it is basically using the same kernel as the Nexus 7 2013, which is a development reference point. Plus, the v500 has a few extra hardware features. I only wish I could replace the battery in the future. :) We also have a nice community of testers and developers.

Is SD card access wonky for anyone? It was working fine for me with CM 13, but with CM 14 my comic reader won't request write access for its old folder in the Android directory on the SD card or a new directory in the root of the drive. I'm also trying to get in touch with the app developer to see if it's on their end. Solid Explorer is still able to move files around regardless of location.

EDIT: The only solution I've found already in this thread is to format as internal storage.

The kernel in CM14+ now has sdcardfs enabled. I'm not sure what differences that makes with specific third party applications, but it might be something app developers need to be aware of.

This! I don't think there are many non-Nexus tablets out there with this kind of developer support. Keep in mind that this device originally shipped with Android 4.2, and now we're all the way up to 7.0. AFAIK, I haven't seen any tablet on the market with the same (or better) specs and community support, so honestly I would have no idea which device I should get to replace if it dies one day.

Oh well, those are concerns for later. It's still running lightning fast and it doesn't look like it's going to give up anytime soon :D

Unfortunately, Comicrack is a bit of a stalled project, so I'm not going to hold out hope for app updates in my lifetime. I can't find where I'd format my SD card for adoptable storage, is that enabled on this ROM?

I think you could replace the battery if you were motivated enough. I have seen batteries on amazon and walkthroughs available out there. I want to try once my battery wears a little more, no reason to give this thing up yet.

I'm having the same issues with all my apps that use SD Card to store stuff (Plex, Pocket Casts and Spotify). Solid Explorer is working fine too.

Plex gives me this error message (translated): "Invalid location. The specified location doesn't have permission to write and because of that it's unable to sync." It also shows 0 GB available on the SD Card.

I had issues with deezer and my sd card. On every restart of the app it told me that the location of the stored (on external sd) music files has changed. I thought about formatting the sd card but then I decided to revert to cm 13 for now.
