A lot of bugs like this one would require I have a dual sim to test on. Sorry.
Does hotspot also depends on modem and ril??

When "android system" is drinking your battery juice fastest, it's often gapps.
Play services is a well known power and wakelock hog.
I use microg floss play services to avoid that, this latest release isn't patched for signature spoofing though.
The battery readout is from a chip on the battery, guessing that it changed after cooling down overnight. Most of my phones don't read the same on battery between power off and on... But mine usually read higher after being powered down instead of lower. Still, battery readouts change at different temperatures, and under load.
which release is patched for signature spoofing for dual sim cuz I tried the last 3 builds but microg didn't work

Not sure, i think it's labelled in the rom archive on the ul build of same date. Definitely outdated.
I'll build a new one soon and try to include all the nifty patches
There's haystack needle and tingle too, for patching framework without the spoofing built in

Can't without the hardware in hand. Mine works so i can't debug it.
I find it odd that it works for you, but not for most other people else using your ROM... Also, it worked with your Nov 20 build, then broke with your Dec 15 build, so maybe it was something that changed between those two?

Until this is fixed, I guess I'll have to go back to the November build, so that I can once again have working tethering.

On the other hand, really awesome job with helping us Desire 816 users by keeping CM going, please keep up the good work!

Absolutely. Also, amusingly enough, on the most recent one. However, for some reason, I can't "select" my SIM card on the most recent one, so I can't receive texts or calls. So I'm back on the November build, since I like having tethering as well as calling/texting.

funny, I thought my hotspot was working, but it is broken this last build.
Needs a new boot.img with that kernel config change.
See, like I said, with the latest build, my tether worked fine. But for some reason, it suddenly wanted to try and use both SIM cards (and since I'm on Virgin Mobile, I only have one slot), and wouldn't let me "select" the active one. So I suddenly had two signal strength icons, one with no signal, and couldn't receive calls or texts.
