Ok. First lineageos build.
I've not dug up the whole home button animation patchset yet, so that's not been implemented. Think I tracked down the three needed commits from cypheros for the pixel navbar animation. Updated the earlier post with the commit link with the other two commits for people searching solutions. Gonna try and build it before work to see.
But anyway, besides navbar ...
All the current patches in. Nlp and signature spoofing patches for microg, and the 60 step volume control.
They fixed the file manager root issues and speakerphone upstream, and as mentioned I incorporated the rpfilter kernel config switches so that hotspot is working again.

I still haven't figured out why the mtp by default (select usb configuration) switch in developer settings doesn't work on dual sim. It is set to charging by default though, maybe try switching it to mtp and rebooting?

CM is dead, long live CM! The lineageos tree is working fine. All the labels still say cm, wonder if they're eventually gonna change them to lineageos.

See, like I said, with the latest build, my tether worked fine. But for some reason, it suddenly wanted to try and use both SIM cards (and since I'm on Virgin Mobile, I only have one slot), and wouldn't let me "select" the active one. So I suddenly had two signal strength icons, one with no signal, and couldn't receive calls or texts.

You're on virgin mobile using the dual sim (dwg) rom?
The only thing i know of that can cause the two signal icons is the dwg boot.img, I never got service working on my virgin mobile (chl) a5 with the dual sim rom. It's got more service control settings than the single sim rom, so i wanted to test it out.
It might kinda work if you clean flashed the dwg rom and configured the sim with setup wizard. But you'd have no sprint ril, so some telephony wouldn't work right.

My tether would turn on and stay on but say error. Other things could see it and talk to it but failed to connect fully.
Funny, the m8 only needed ipv4 rpfilter switch in kernel config, but this phone wanted the ipv6 rpfilter too for hotspot to work again.

yes, hotspot should be working
signature spoofing is mostly for microg. I think a few hacked apps may want it too. You have to specifically enable it per-app in settings>apps>app permissions>signature spoofing.
microg is a FLOSS version of google play services, with way less battery drain and privacy issues. It doesn't work for everything google gmscore does, but it works for a lot of the functionality, definitely everything I use them for. It can be tricky to install the first time. I linked the thread in the OP if you'd like more information.

You know what? That could be a huge part of my issue. I was REALLY tired the day I downloaded that ROM, and didn't notice I'd grabbed the wrong one. lol

Grabbing the right one now, gonna flash back from the Nov 20 build to the Dec 28 build, will let you know if that works better!

Yes. Fixed hotspot, speakerphone, and cm root file manager, integrated 60 step volume control and signature spoofing.

You can still use gapps.
i just prefer having the option of using microg without xposed or modifying framework after it's built, so i included signature spoofing.

I stopped building cm13 for dual sim when it got official support, so mines outdated.
Think the main difference is init.qcom.usb.rc in ramdisk which is for mtp ptp adb and usb host mass storage support.
Reports said 2g 3g lte switch did not work on dual sim.

By the way, the team are the lineageos (formerly cm) devs.
The a5 has been just me for a while, as far as cm builds go
