No problem thanks you :)

Great feedback. I haven't noticed that problem myself, but I reboot frequently. Can you do me a huge favor? When the back button stops working, can you immediately try it 5 times, then pull a log cat and send it to me? Thanks, then I can see the problem.

miguelr4720.

Miguel Says Thank You. AND to notified him When The Rom Is more Stable to use. :) I'll WAIT When its more Stable?

GREAT ROM :)

Thank you so much Just Leet me know when the rom is more stable ;)

Praise God! Another update WITH NEW GOODIES!!!!

I know many of you had your doubts when I decided to cut back on the number of roms to work on, but it really has helped me focus on the few roms I still maintain. So, without further ado, I present the update for AOKP Nougat!

20170301
+ Synced with AOKP source!
--> Merged with Android 7.1.1_r21
--> Added PIE controls
--> Security patches updated to Feb 5, 2017
--> Now FULLY supports OMS/SUBSTRATUM
+ Screenshot issue fixed
+ SDcard read from File Manager fixed
Substratum worked before, but in legacy mode, now OMS is fully supported, and in my testing was really superb! Also, PIE controls are back, as well as a few minor fixes and the latest security updates, so feel free to download and try it out.

The new download does have the CM kernel, but I tested the AKLU kernel and it still flashes just fine! Remember, the CM kernel does not support hotspots, but the AKLU kernel does.

Let me know if you find any issues so we can work them out! Positive feedback is also welcome!

Weirdest thing, my capacitive buttons still do not light up and eventually quit working. Your Slim ROM is running perfectly. I've pulled logs per your suggestion and they aren't showing anything. I've tried both the built in kernel and your modified kernel, same response. I'm going to keep running Slim as it's pretty damn perfect. Thank you again for all of your beautiful work. BTW, did the baby arrive? Hopefully all is going great for you.

Yes, I am still chasing down that capacitive button issue. You will not find it in the logs. I don't think it's an "error" which is why I can't pinpoint the problem yet, but in working on it.

Mom and baby are both doing fine, thanks for asking!

¿What's the best way to upgrade from previous version?

Thanks
The best way to update any rom is a clean wipe and install. However, you can try the dirty flash here, it *should * work, but of not, then clean wipe and install.

I always do a clean install, but I am constantly rom hoping as I test new builds.

Hi there! Thanks for the ROM first off. It boots up nicely and everything I've tested in the latest build works great.
I just have one issue. My SIM isn't recognized. My model is TBLTECAN/915W8. When I go into Data settings it throws com.android.phone has stopped. Would this have something to do with gAPPS, possibly?
Side note: I have flashed the data fixes. No avail.

Thanks.

Techboy,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues. I've been a little busy with the new baby, or I would have gotten back to you sooner.

What modem and boot loader are you on?

That's alright. I appreciate the reply either way.
I've switched back to stock for the time being. I'm currently on the 6.0.1 boooader and I believe the latest modem possible for my N915W8 device. :)

I too am on a 915W8 stock phone with 6.0.1. I have tried many different things like root and roms with no success. Attempted roots always fail (I know many people have had success rooting but even paid services have failed) roms are incompatible or are missing any edge functionality. Using a stock phone for the last 2 years has been ok, I miss V4A, I miss all the little tweaks, I miss improved battery and sound but most of all I miss just playing with phone. Like trying new settings or tweaks with busybox and customizing the crap out of your phone. The thing is I really like the phone, I use the edge function all the time, answer phone calls and launch apps, check my schedule for work, bed side clock and alarm functionality. All of which are very cool with my samsung flipcase. I WANT TO COME BACK! I want to tweak my phone again. I want improved sound and battery again. I am willing to get rid of case and lose edge functionality for the most part just to have a rooted up to date phone but it's not for us, the lonely W8's.

If I gave you two a list of specific files I needed from your stock ROMs, would you get them for me? That is how I made the T-Mobile data zip. It is quite possible we could make a tbltecan data zip that works.

If you are willing, then tell me the exact modern and baseband/boot loader you are on. Tomorrow I can send you the list and instructions.

To copy the files, you don't need root, as you are only reading them. You will need adb, however.

I'm game if you are, but be warned, only the dedicated and the brave need apply..... ;)

Alright, here is the list. They should all be on the "system" drive in the system folder from "/" root.

Code:
   /system/etc/gps.conf
   /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml
   /system/etc/apns-conf.xml
   /system/lib/libreference-ril.so
   /system/lib/libremotedesktop_client.so
   /system/lib/libsecril-client.so
   /system/lib/libsec-ril.so
   /system/lib/librilutils.so
   /system/lib/libril.so
   /system/lib/libremotedesktopservice.so
   /system/lib/librmnetctl.so
   /system/csc/sales_code.dat
   /system/csc/customer.xml
   /system/csc/RWC/csc_contents/enforceskippingpackages.txt
   /system/csc/RWC/system/etc/wifi/cred.conf
   /system/csc/RWC/system/etc/hidden_apks_list.txt
   /system/csc/RWC/system/etc/csc_user_remove_apks_list.txt
   /system/csc/RWC/system/etc/csc_remove_apks_list.txt
   /system/csc/RWC/system/etc/csc_apks_list.txt
   /system/csc/RWC/system/etc/csc_ringtones_list.txt
   /system/csc/RWC/system/etc/csc_user_apks_list.txt
   /system/csc/RWC/system/csc/sales_code.dat
   /system/csc/RWC/system/csc/customer.xml
   /system/csc/RWC/system/csc/contents.db
   /system/csc/RWC/system/csc/default_workspace.xml
   /system/csc/RWC/system/framework/ub__preload.jar
   /system/csc/common/system/etc/wifi/default_ap.conf
   /system/csc/common/system/csc/language.xml
   /system/csc/common/system/csc/default_workspace.xml
   /system/csc/common/system/csc/default_application_order.xml
   /system/CSCVersion.txt
   /system/SW_Configuration.xml
   /system/build.prop
If the file is not there, please look around to see if you can find it somewhere else (but will still be somewhere in the /system folder. If you cannot find it after searching, just let me know which of the files cannot be found. You should be able to copy them without root permission, but you may need adb to pull them, as most non-rooted file managers will not let you see the system file directory.

It may help you keep them straight by making folders to keep them in, named after the place you got them from.

When you have all of the files, you can PM me so we can send them from you to me. It would help if you have Google Drive, Media Fire, or similar, but if not we can work that out in the PM.

I have root but I can't seem to find /system/csc/RWC/system/framework/ub__preload.jar
Every other file I can find, just not that specific one. I've attempted looking in other areas around that, but no dice. :(
