About ROM
AOSP-CAF Rom is based on AOSP. It offers powerful performance with good battery backup and OMS7 support.
Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Software projects it concerns itself with are e.g. Android for MSM, Femto Linux Project, LLVM, MSM WLAN and Linux-MSM. Code Aurora is basically AOSP plus all Qualcomm specific enhancements and optimization.

Installation
  • Download the latest build
  • Place ROM in your SD card or Internal Storage
  • Reboot into recovery mode
  • Full wipe and factory reset (recommended)
  • Flash ROM
  • Flash GApps (Optional)
  • Reboot

Well thats expected from a CAF based rom?
But almost stock.Not for the guys looking for features but for those who seek performance and efficiency.

Is substratum working? Does the phone app force quit? I can't apply themes and the phone keeps hanging up on people

Yes, but on first boot the nav bar is already hidden AND fingerprint gestures aren't turned on = no navigation!

OP might want to fix that fun little opener. I can live without a centered clock, but no apm seems a bit too pure/austere, plus other CAF-based roms have it. Unless I missed it...

They have it because the feature was added to the ROM. That's not stock android code or caf code.

I know it's an added feature and not in the base code, just saying most roms add that very basic feature or at least provide the option for it. Maybe it was intentionally not added though, guess we'll see on the next update.
