I opted for a dirty flash from 2.0. Wiped dalvik, system, cache. No issues detected thus far. I also flashed Viper4arise (Arise) Deuteronomy after disabling AudioFX. Thanks for an amazing rom!

Am I the only one still having issues with the camera lagging and long delays before it opens? Even on the new 2.2. I tried installing Open Camera and still having those camera issues.

Thank!
Just finished a dirty flash from 2.0, and all the problems that I had in 2.1 are gone.
Keep on this great work.

After a clean flash, things are working swimmingly. I have to say it's a pain in the freakin ass, especially when TB just totally deletes backups sometimes when on N, but this time went fine. Camera issues are mostly gone. Even the FB messenger camera works on it's own. SD card is all good still, BT seems to connect easily but I only tried it in my car so far. I have tried DU, AICP, the old CM14, the new LineaseOS 7.1.1, and a couple other ROMs...this is the only one with no noticeable things legit broken. Thank you for all the work!

2.2 is pretty stable.

2.0 can screen off while playing Youtube / all apps can running.
if that is bugs , I think that fix SOT issue... hahah

I had that issue and so I installed motorola camera (not moto camera) and the issues are gone. It'll be the one you got with the phone. It seems that camera works best with this phone. No lagging issues. It's not the best camera app but if you're into just pointing and shooting without having to wait, then it does ok. Plus it works well as a qr scanner

Have you found a way to enable saving to SD card from that camera? That's the ONLY reason I was using the CM camera/ Open Camera. I think there was a file that needed to be edited to make that functional. Basically, if you turn that settings wheel when you swipe in from the left, the save icon isn't there until you mod it somehow. Anyone remember what that was?

Possible solutions??? :-\

Ok, So couple of options:

1. SAFE AND EASY: but might not work. Before I flashed CrDroid to my phone, the save to SD card option only showed up in camera options when SD card was formatted as internal storage. So the easy way to do this might be to back up stuff you have on sd card. Format it as internal and transfer the camera app and other stuff over to SD card. Pictures should automatically save to SD card after that and the save to SD card option should activate. Again, don't know if this works but there is no harm in trying it if you backup your current SD card contents before you format as internal. Note here though, if you have a slow SD card this might slow down apps that are now on SD card.

2. MODDING - NOT SAFE AND MIGHT F*** EVERYTHING UP: You need to modify the camera .so file. So from developer options grant root access (usually set to disabled - and with good reason). In file explorer, go to settings and grant it root access (pop-up to confirm, select remember my choice). In the (now accessible) system folders navigate to System/lib/hw/ where you will find a camera.msm8992.so file. This file will have to be replaced with another .so file that has the option to save to SD card enable. I only did a CURSORY search and found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/cameramod-t3420739/ . This supposedly allows the camera options to be activated - RAW format, save options etc. You could take the .so file from there and replace the .so file in System/lib/hw/ . AGAIN, I HAVE NOT FULLY RESEARCHED THE AFOREMENTIONED THREAD - YOU MUST READ IT TO SEE IF IT DOES WHAT YOU WANT. If it doesn't, then you will at least have an idea for what you are looking for.

If you try either of these options and it works, let the forum know. If you try and it doesn't work, also let the forum know. I personally, don't care where the camera saves, since I just back up to google photos and delete device copies aggressively :D. But I know others do. If you figure it out, let us know but remember, 2nd method could ruin your camera. Its up to you to do the research before.

Ok, So couple of options:

Another option would be to flash the ExtSD Fix, which enables most apps to save to the SD card (except in some cases with apps that use their own storage location picker instead of the built-in one).

Although it might cause problems with Titanium Backup loading backups from the SD, but I'll do some experimentation later and see if I can get around that issue.
Edit: If you use the Filesystem storage provider for Backup folder location, Titanium Backup crashes after about 15 seconds, which gives enough time to fix it, but as long as you use the DocumentProvider storage provider to select the backup location it works normally. It appears to be an issue with the way Titanium Backup acts if it is able to write to a directory that it wouldn't normally be able to.

Thanks for the responses on the camera saving to SD card issue. I went ahead before and installed folder sync which basically just auto transfers everything from the internal gallery to the place I choose on the SD card. It's a work-around really, but it works for now.

Couple things: I believe that ExtSD fix is for MM only? For some reason I don't see Nougat notation in the thread anywhere. Could have missed it though, I did not comb through the tread. @srahman5317 , I believe the second option you noted was what I did in the past, with replacing that lib file with another one that forces the SD option to show. Having replaced the file with the file in the thread linked, there were no changes. I changed the old file to a .old extension to preserve it. I will fiddle around a bit more but it's possible that all of the updates to the Motorola Camera of the months has made that modded file not functional.

Oh man, I think this was what I found before. Thanks!

Hello and sorry for my English.

I'm experiencing some troubles with the call, the other side say to me it cut a lot when I'm speaking.

And when I turn on the speaker, the volume is low and the other side can't ever hear me or a little.
Are there some settings I didn't know?
Thank you!
