I have installed.

Everything works, great job

Thanks for your feedback. Good to know.

In the "defects" section of the Russian post I linked, the first line says "-not in the settings " when I machine translate it. Do you know what this means?

The other "defect" is "-no reassignment of the buttons". That might be a dealbreaker for me. I like to use a non-standard button layout.

That is sadly correct... I can't assign buttons.
I wanted to add button to kill all process and it did not work, or I did not see it yet. ..

There is only the first build now which you have installed. Hopefully Lyncore will update it in the future and work out the bugs.

So, would you say that other than the button reassignment everything seems to be working perfectly? I might just install it this weekend myself even if the buttons can't be reassigned. I am itching to try it....

It works perfectly here and if you add those virtual buttons you can get the clear recent..

Thanks for your help, rshloosh. I actually ended up installing the 4.20 build from QwertyTom instead. Overall it's working great for me. I dirty flashed it over Nougat RR by unterwelt. Only issue I can see is that for some reason Bluetooth crashes once at boot up, but seems to work fine otherwise. It's real snappy and I'm very happy with it so far.

Hi guys. I use rom from below link
https://xdaforums.com/redmi-4-prime/development/share-aospextended-rom-v4-6-t3747905

Its up to date and even more smooth and fast than this dead rom. I reccommend it for daily use.

https://xdaforums.com/redmi-4-prime/development/share-aospextended-rom-v4-6-t3747905

Best android 8.1 rom , stable, only the assignable keys do not work.
In addition I formated partitions to f2fs from ext4, add some scroll teaks to build.prop and now the readmi 4 prime show around 85000 in benchmarks while stock r4pro with android 6 is 65000 in benchmarks... So ROM is fast too.

Sorry for the late reply. I should have been more clear. QwertyTom made an Oreo build on 4/20. It's in the same thread on 4pda.

can you give me the link to download and the source? Thanks!

Here is the direct download link on gdrive.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hNavzoqc1J6Gc7_BwCmLVdi6TTSdGUGY/view

I think nowadays if we want to keep up with markw development, we really need to go directly to 4pda. It saddens me to say it, but the forums for this phone at XDA are mostly dead now. The reason is that the development community for this phone is almost 100% Russian developers who would rather use a Russian language forum. Sometimes we get links over here on XDA, but oftentimes they are late and incomplete. We could make new threads for these roms over here, but devs are not always happy to have threads about their roms here. If anyone wants to start one, I suppose you could check with the dev directly.

All that being said, long live markw development! I hope against hopes that we will still have a dev community someday when Android P becomes the standard.

If you want to get RR for your R4P but more updated then qwertyTom of 4PDA has a really good version that is also 5.8.5, plus another one for Oreo, both updated just this month. Using it right now.

Besides obviously being slightly better by being more up-to-date they also lack some weird bugs I've had on this build. Nonetheless though hrafninn did a great job while at it.

Yep. We could really use a new thread here on XDA for qwertytom's builds.

I'm using aosp-caf-o-mr1-20180412-markw and all word fine no crashes plus I formatted the cache partition to f2fs and the r4p flyss faster then stock android 6!

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
    Code:
[COLOR="SeaGreen"][B]Q[/B] Is your build better than Razziell's?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] Considering Razziell has abandoned Resurrection Remix I would say so.
The sources are more up to date in my build and is therefore probably more
    stable.

[COLOR="SeaGreen"][B]Q[/B] Are there any kernel alternatives?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] My RR builds feature the kernel from [URL="https://github.com/anomalchik/android_kernel_xiaomi_msm8953"]animalchik[/URL] which is the only current
alternative with open source codes to my knowledge and will because of that
be the default kernel in future RR builds unless source codes are released
for another possibly better kernel. Many have requested Nosgoth V2+ which is
a continuation of animalchik's kernel made by Razziell. It's downloadable
from [URL="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0IUHdLYs_HnbnhVVXp1WEFsWDQ/view"]here[/URL]. It will not be in RR by default since it's still closed source.

    [COLOR="seagreen"][B]Q[/B] How is battery life?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] In general, just excellent. Compared to MIUI it's maybe a bit behind since
MIUI limits background processes more than other roms.

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]Q[/B] How does the camera work?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] Most issues with the camera are fixed. The only issue left is that video
recording on the front facing camera is pretty dark, especially in
low light. If that is a problem download [URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fgnm.baconcamera"]Bacon Camera[/URL].

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]Q[/B] I experience low speaker volume. How do I fix this?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] Not sure if it qualifies as a bug in the rom, but I agree that speaker
volume is pretty low. To fix this, simply flash [URL="https://xdaforums.com/android/apps-games/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342"]Dolby Atmos[/URL] through TWRP
and simply activate "Volume Leveler". As an added benefit there's a lot
of settings to play around with.

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]Q[/B] When will you fix this bug?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] Unless I have caused the bug I probably won't be fixing it. I am not a
skilled developer, just someone who wants to build and share roms for a
device that has way too few developers.

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]Q[/B] How often will you release new builds?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] Probably around once a week if I have time and there are new commits.

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]Q[/B] Does the rom need a clean flash or is a dirty flash enough?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] It depends. If you come from MIUI or any Android 6 rom a clean flash is
needed, but when flashing from another rom on Nougat you can often get away
with a dirty flash. Sometimes you need to reflash Gapps to get everything
    to work though.
    [COLOR="seagreen"]
[B]Q[/B] My device got bricked while flashing your rom, how will you reimburse me?[/COLOR]
[B]A[/B] I won't. There is always a risk of bricking when flashing new firmware. I
always try to test a build before releasing it, but it's not always possible.
Be sure to create a backup in TWRP before flashing any rom
DONATE - If you wish to support me.
    27
Hey everyone! I've been on a break for around a week or so. Got a bit stressed out after the last build. Not because of you guys, I just got overwhelmed since I wanted to build a great rom. :)

I haven't had a chance to read all of the new posts yet, but wanted to let you all know that I'm getting back on the saddle.

There are some bugs I'm interested in fixing and possibly update to latest security patches, so you can probably expect a new build in the near future. :good:

A lot of fun stuff this time around! Be sure to post any bugs you might find, I'm especially curious if the charging bug is finally fixed.

    Whats new?
    Force fast charge
This allows users to override default charge rate for USB.

    Gradual backlight
An alternate backlight algorithm that is slightly dimmer than stock and has more gradual transition.

    Quick wakeup
Allow kernel driver to do periodic jobs without resuming the full system.

    Qnovo interface
QNS is a battery charging controller and it is necessary to access a kernel driver for a battery charging. This adds sysfs interface which enables QNS daemon to access it.

Remove current limit vote on charger removal
Remove vote for input current limit(ICL) on charger removal, this will make sure ICL voter state is updated on charger removal and vote for next insertion is not discarded as duplicate request. In short, clears charging state when charger is removed

    ... and more!
