The problem of opening a new thread is that I am new to the development of roms, and this version I could compile thanks to files from other developers, I can not commit to publish the rom because if you add some change or correction on the device, if they do not help me, I will not know what modifications have to be made, what if I can commit myself while demetris does not re-develop the rom is that each version I compile for personal use and work can be shared in this same thread

Thanks for sharing your build, will test it and report.
You're right, you shouldn't publish this as "own" ROM atm but you can contact @Demetris and ShubhamSingh and ask if you can develop as official maintainer. This device is pretty old so maybe they are willing to let you do it.

Ok Demetris if you agree I will talk with Allstargaurav, since the tree of the device that I used to compile the rom 5.5 is yours and he is adding the latest corrections, if you keep adding the corrections that come out or help me add the corrections that are coming out, I can compile it every week or every month without any problem

Hello here I leave the rom version 5.5 with the security patches updated to May, and with the fix of hal1, I have compiled for personal use, but as the official developer delays I leave this in case you want to enjoy it, the rom works perfectly and it is very smooth, but when you start the rom, before putting the pin, a warning appears as in the image below, but you press ok, then you put the pin and it works correctly



As I said the rom is for personal use, and I also want to say that I am starting to develop roms, that I am not an expert, I also want to thank all those who have contributed to the device tree, and especially to RenanQueiroz and Allstargaurav since he used his gits to compile the rom correctly

P.D. The rom comes out as official because the device tree that I used is from an official developer of AOSP Extended.

And if there is a problem in sharing the rom here that some moderator or the developer tell me and I will withdraw it

Rom is running smooth, no bugs until now just found one header pack not working.
Atm the battery consumption is really high, this is not new for AEX and I just flashed it so the Rom has to settle first.
Rooted with Magisk 16, Viper4Android is working too.
Everything looks good at first glance.

It's not dead. Demetris is waiting for hal1 to be fixed on Oreo and release a stable ROM for us.


By the way, after a while I decided to give this ROM a go, and it's excellent indeed, very complete in terms of customization options.
But it is, as I said a couple of times, also a bit of a battery eater. I guess all the speed and customization comes at a price...

Edit: after only a few minutes, with 17% of battery left, the phone turned itself off.

My battery is new. No need to change it. Aex just destroys it in a few hours. I'm on DU 11.7 now and I get this:
(About 3 times the battery backup I had on AEX)

Right now I'm on LineageOs 14.1. But all other ROMs have better battery if compared to AEX 4.6.

On Lineage I've got 20+ hours before charging again, on AEX it's about 7 hours, wether I'm using the phone or not.

On AEX 5.5 my battery consumption is comparable to all other 8.1 Roms. AEX was never the most battery friendly one but it´s really smooth, all features that I need are there and running.
I´ll do a overnight check with better battery stats but I don´t think that there are wakelocks. If the phone isn´t running there is no big drain.

Something must be eating your battery.
If I dont use it much, I got upto 3 days of battery.

It is the only rom that does this on my phone. Even on idle, I have only about 7 hours of battery. Tried installing it multiple times. I don't use greenify and the sorts though...

@Jorge_8 I fixed the remaining issues with init and checked everything and all add up to get a build going
So vendor/device_tree/common/kernel look fine
I saw we can re enable sdcardfs in a later time if needed since we now have kernel support but i dont know what branch of it you use for building so...

I am using the Oreo branch to compile the rom, you have already added the corrections in the correct branch, thanks! and then I use the Oreo-Test branch to do tests, I look if someone who is developing for this device adds some correction, then I add it to the Oreo-Test branch and I try to see if the changes work, I'm still very noob and I do not know if the changes that I add will work, hahahaha, that's why I created the Oreo-Test branch to do tests, the other day RenanQuerioz I thank him for letting me use his branch added a correction in his branch, and added it to the Oreo-Test branch and it worked correctly, the problem that the rom had when starting the error THERE'S AN INTERNAL PROBLEM WITH YOUR DEVICE. CONTACT YOUR MANUFACTURER FOR DETAILS is already fixed, I think it's the same change you've added to the Oreo branch, thanks for helping me

Now I have the rom compiled with the changes that you have made, and I suppose also with the security patch of June and this afternoon I will try to see how it works and if the security patch is in June and if so, I will upload it to the night or morning
