Lens AF and ... missing

@fire855
I posted the screenshots you requested and looking at them I noticed that both RR as Stock rom show Lens AF files and MADos not.
Same goes for 4 RAW files at "Supported".
.
As autofocus is working the same for me in RR as in Stock rom and is not working in MADos, it seems that IMX258 sensor needs them for autofocus.
.
Maybe they are left out by M.A.D. because VAL has a different camera sensor and doesn't need them but I think VAX does.
.
Maybe Fards, who has improved camera usage on VAL, can give you more info about this subject.
.
In one of his posts he also mentioned this source of info:
https://gitlab.com/mt6797/vendor/find_file/ALPS-MP-M0.MP9-V1.78.1_NB6797_6C_M
.
I realy hope you can solve the autofocus problem I am facing so I can start using MADos.

The app just can't read the sensors in madOS. That doesn't mean it has no lens ;)
Fards improved camera? Where?

Fards improved camera? Where?

The fact that names missing at LENS-setcion seems to me that MADos has no drivers for Autofocussing the lens, whereas StockRom (and RRos) does have them.

On this forum
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ge...nee-apollo-lite-helio-x20-4gb-ram-hd-t3362898
Fards is thanked many times for his camera improvements (see attachements).

Including Irish-dude asking SuperdragonPt if Fards improvements will be incorporated in MADos.

I know VAL doesn't have same back camera as VAX but it might be that the problems he solved for VAL are the same kind as my VAX is facing.

The app is just not able to read the drivers on madOS. It's completely different than stock rom or RR. madOS must have any lens drivers or AF wouldn't work for anyone on VAX and VAL.
Did fards release his changes or only prebuilt files?

Touchscreen doesn't work properly

Hello, my touchscreen still doesn't work properly. If i turn screen on i get about 7 seconds "touch lag". It's not always, it's working properly in 1 of 20 attempt of turning screen on. Can you help me resolve this bug, please?

Thank you

Hi ,

I have still have the stock rom. I would change for a better rom.

Is safe to install this rom?
There are same issues with the batery drain and the camera.

This rom is faster than the stock?

thank you

The camera of my VAX does not work correct in MADos Nougat.
I tried many Camera apps but none worked allright.

I am waiting for the MADos Oreo version hoping it will be okay.

For the time being I use Ressurection Remix which also has problems with the camera but can be solved by using OpenCamera.

Just got it installed on my Apollo X. Gonna use it as a daily driver, will post feedback in few days. I hope this phone became more popular in time. I just swapped from HTC M8 where USB port went burned. Looks like this little beast have potential, just without proper popularity it wont get too much attention from developers. MadOS looks sick, I've used to flash RR/Slim ROMS on my former devices (HOX, m7, m8) so this is my first time with MadOS. Looks like u guys did a great job :)

Noob question

Hi,

I have never flashed my Apollo X.
I would like to try.

If I have well understood I need to:
1. Install TWRP
2. Flash the MAD Rom

I have installed the ADB drivers, I have downloaded the MAD rom and SP Flash Tool.

I searched on Google, but I can not find a clear tutorial to install TWRP. I am a little scared of bricking my phone...
Is there here a nice specialist who can help me ?

Thanks a lot !!
:)

Touchscreen Lag

Hi, I installed the ROM in my VAX and I have the same problem of lag on the touchscreen of the device after the screen unlock. The touchscreen only works approximately after 5 seconds of waiting after the screen unlock. My device had the bootloader unlocked when I installed it, could it have affected in any way? Or would the correct installation be with the bootloader blocked? Can someone send me a screenshot of the Running Services where it shows the memory used by the system and the apps? I think after installation the system is using a lot of memory. Sorry for some grammar mistakes. Thanks in advance

Hi, when you installed the ROM your bootloader was unlocked? My was and when I was going to turn on the VAX it would display a message that my smartphone would be turned on in 5 seconds, which was about the same time as the lag lasted on the touchscreen.

But that's only displayed on the boot logo. That's completely different from just turning on the screen

Yes, I realized that. But the delay time on the touchscreen after unlocking the screen is similar to the 5 seconds of the bootloarder message, so I suspected that maybe it could have something related. Can you tell me if the bootloader needs to be unlocked to install the ROM?

I have unlocked bootloader too, but I don't think that this two things are related. Is this rom working with locked bootloader? I haven't tried it.

    General F.A.Q.

Q: What the hell is madOS ?
A: madOS, (M.A.D. Team OS), is a ROM based on pure A.O.S.P. with extended capabilities and customizations made by or merge/adapted by M.A.D. Team.

Q: Which recovery should I use for this ROM?
A: Latest M.A.D. TWRP recovery for Apollo Lite
    available here

Update to TWRP v: 3.1.1-0 Mandatory for 7.1.2:
    available here

Q: Some translations are missing for my language, can I help?
A: Sure you can, please check our translations repo available here , you can either do a pull request, or if you don't know how to work with git, sent us the XML. Strings for your language ( Check Readme on repo).

    Q: What's working ?
A: Check first Post for current status

    Update for 7.1.1

Q: When I try to install the ROM it says "Error 7 symlink failed", what gives?
A: You need to unmount /system first on twrp

Q: After flashing TWRP says "No OS Installed?"
A: Ignore this message. If the ROM flash indicated as being successful, you can swipe to reboot and the OS should boot.

Q: Do i really need full wipes?
    A: Yeah

    Q: App "x" doesn't work, why?
A: Probably not compatible with Nougat yet, feedback is welcome

A: NO, But you can easily root with SuperSU v2.76 onwards.
For 7.1.2: Only Latest SuperSU works

A: As of now, there's no Xposed for N, so no

Q: Does busybox still works on Nougat?
    A: yes

Q: AdAway no longer works on Nougat, what can I do?
A: Simply install busybox first, available from the Play Store, and it'll download hosts and work just fine then

Q: Data Connection does not work, why?
A: The ROM, already includes latest APNs, if you still have no active data connection, check your APN settings

Q: How is battery life with Nougat on the Jiayu?
A: It should be comparable to Marshmallow.
Update: We've already fixed several memory leaks and draining issues

Q: Does this build support Vulcan?
A: No. Vulcan does not provide support for MediaTek (yet?)

Q: Does doze work in this build?
A: Yes. You do not have to enable anything; it is active by default.
