Yep, I understand what you want ... but for this we need to wait until Huawei will release the new kernel source code Linux 4.1.18 .... maybe somewhere in September, November this year ;)

MTP doesn't work, fingerprint also, and sim functionality too (I think) too.

edit: I have eva-l19 on c636b381
The finger print sensor never fills the circle completely. Just the first quarter.
You have to remove all fingerprints from EMUI before you flash the ROM. The reason is that a factory wipe through TWRP doesn't removes the fingerprints stored in the TrustZone. RR can't read those fingerprints created by EMUI from TrustZone and because the fingerprint is still enrolled according to TrustZone it denies adding that same fingerprint again (the reason you're unable to fill the circle). Try other fingers or if you feel adventurous, revert to EMUI (ensure a fresh install) and again flash RR.

I've been using this for a day, and there are some problems I'm having that I haven't seen mentioned in the thread as of yet.

1. The camera only works with Google Camera. No other app can use it (I either get a black feed or a "Cannot use the camera." message).
2. If I switch to video mode in Google Camera, the app crashes.
3. If I enter any submenu in Gboard settings, it crashes.
4. In the Quick Settings editor, if I pull a setting upwards 8 rows, it returns to its original location, making it impossible to add any tiles from the 8th row and under.
5. Multi-Window doesn't start if I hold the Recents button, and I can't find a setting for it either.

Can you please make a list of the steps to follow in order to re-stock the device?

Just fyi, if this help to anyone else:
1. Flash any stock firmware, with 7.0 as prefer, then
2. go to eRecovery(not connected it to the PC, vol up + power on until huawei logo appears, then release the keys.
3. Make a factory reset
4. Reboot and wait for first loading.
5. Add fps
6. Delete it
7. Flash RR ROM

Try to reboot into recovery again, then format /data again.

this is just too complicated, too much builds and firmwares, my HTC One was a pain in the ass but compared to Huawei it's nothing!!
i also miss my Nexus 6P, now that was a real android modifiable to the core, only if it had DualSIM :(

now im thinking about the OnePlus 5 guys i'll try to get it ASAP is it easy or sketchy like this little bH?

Thanks for the good work! I have one issue when I installed the rom, SIM slot 1 does not work. when I put my SIM in slot 2, it works. I tried restarting phone but nothing out of it. My model is a EVA-AL10, i flashed the AL10 zip for dual sim so I really don't know why.

Don't you Can use a custom kernel? @surdu_petru
Custom kernels are usually compiled from device specific kernel sources.
You cannot just take the standard Linux kernel sources, compile a kernel binary from it and expect it to run on a devices like the P9.
It's the low level hardware drivers (display, fingerprint, etc) in the device specific kernel sources that are essential for building a custom kernel.

Than the unique chance is to wait the new kernel?..
I think i Will return to emui 5.0 stock because of reboots..

i tried it several times, then a thought "well i have a backup, just flash it. And? It worked without a problem, only the reboot bug is annoying for me, i ll go back to another rom and flash this again when this is solved.
But anyway thank you! :)

Please, HELP!
My device don't boot. I tried to reinstall twrp to restore a backup but nothing.
I'm on bootloader and device says "device is booting now" but he don't boot, he don't do nothing.
I tried various twrp images but nothing. I overwrited recovery2 but nothing..
My phone is died.

What i can do? I can't restore dload, and when i tried he said that the version wasn't that.
Don't boot into system..it seems that partition doesn't exsist

Seems that you really messed up your phone. I don't have a P9 but a Mate 9 so I can only give some general tips

  • As long as you can boot into the bootloader there is still hope that you can recover your phone
  • Don't mess with the recovery2 partition. That's where Huawei's eRecovery is stored.
  • Stock recovery or TWRP are flashed onto the recovery partition, not the recovery2 partition.

So I assume your device can boot into TWRP and your device can boot into bootloader
I think the P9 can use the "dload method" for resetting your device to stock but this method only works with stock recovery.
So without guarantee you could try the followimg:

  1. Download dload files for your device to your PC
  2. Boot into TWRP
  3. Copy dload files into the "dload" directory of your SD card.
  4. Download stock recovery image for your device to your PC
  5. Reboot into bootloader
  6. Flash stock recovery image (fastboot flash recovery ...)
  7. Turn off the phone, disconnect from USB and turn it back on with holding both volume buttons. That should find the dload files and start the reset of your phone

I had been flash the img in this way (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72289111&postcount=24),and now the system will not start to erecovery, and it will ramdonly restart only after connecting the data line, but this failure is very small.Thank you for the hard work of developers,I hope Huawei open source kernel source code,so developers solve the problem of system restart as soon sa posibble.

This is what i'm hate on new Huawei Devices. All Root and Flash operations are very complicated. In the past was enough Unlock Bootloader Flash Recovery via fastboot and flash Rom and Gapps no matter what Android Version is installed. Today in the presence is it no fun with all the operations here. F...k Kirin

Hey this rom is amazing! But the reboot bug is seriously annoying and my camera can not work. Tried some third party camera apps like Google Camera but they also crash. My device is EVA-AL10. When will the reboot bug will be fixed and is there any solution for the camera problem? Thanks a lot again!;)
